I couldn't care less about scantily clad bunny girls.

Also, if you like bunny girls, I'm cool with that.

Wow, thanks @Aeolus .  I don't think it's going to be an actually substantial announcement, of course, but just the fact that it could be is exciting.  My guess: announcing Steam version.

If anything, it's praiseworthy that they are bringing every single main entry to Steam one after the other.

@Electricb7 Do you have a monthly payment of any sort? (cellphone, Netflix/cable, etc.)
You can have those charged on a credit card, pay it every month and it will help set up your profile as positive credit.

So we thought the move would help a bit, make things simpler but I've just been informed that in the last 2 days, my mother doesn't eat unless someone tells her to... same for taking her pills. She's doesn't do much of anything by herself.
She's being brought to the hospital tomorrow for an evaluation to see if she is still deemed independent. No idea how many days until they have results.

A friend of mine lost her mother suddenly from a heart attack and said it's the worst way to lose family because she couldn't say goodbye...
I've thought about that quite a bit and while I won't said this to her (I've got some tact) my opinion at this point is that it's probably the best way because the last time I saw my mother was 7 months ago. Since then, it's been something else and slowly it's just becoming an empty husk. Watching that decay day after day is hard and part of me just wants it to end already.

Spent the last 2 days (and last several weekends getting ready to) moving my mother from her house into a 'old people who will die soon-ish' place.
I'm dead in every possible way.

The last couple of weeks, there was tons of shit to do for her.
Good news is that most of it is done and I should have somewhat of a break.
Although I'm the one who has to change all her addresses everywhere which I foresee being a problem with places because of their security measures.
Government sounds like it will be a major pain in the ass in this case (usually it's stupidly easy though)

I can definitely see why people hated the annoying and intrusive debt system, though.  I don't mind it, and I even like the construction of the game where you can kinda play lazily and explore at will.  I like the character sidestories, too.  But the constant phone calls from Nova are irritating, for sure.

To continue the main quest, please grind 500,000 (which you would probably have if we didn't put a forced money cap on you the entire time)

I am definitely looking forward to it.  Especially if they build on what they did right with Tales of Berseria.  The game was seriously awesome.  Still need to finish getting my shiny platinum trophy, though.  I just hope the next game brings back the navigable world map, but sadly, I think that might be a thing of the past. ;_;

Be warned that the last boss on chaos is a complete chore.
Basically, you have to make a perma invincible Velvet and chip at him for a very long time.

Bunny is a tsundere; you get to the dere eventually.

Do they have the movie too? Because you'll want to watch that after the serie.

the human body can only survive for, what, a few days without water?

3 days is the average.
US and Canada might fight over the great lakes one of these days.

DQ8 was a 10/10 at hour 10, a 9/10 at hour 20. Then by hour 50, OMG PLEASE JUST END, kind of game. After say hour 35 you can't really critize the story or anything because by then the story was completely sacrificed at the altar of endless grinding.

This is one of the most accurate thing that's been said about DQ8.

I did some research and there is very little know about the next main entry.
All that's been said is that it will release only on PS4 and PC.

I don't remember, but did I post here about how last season's Shingeki no Bahamut Virgin Soul was a huge disappointment?
Because it's way up there with Aldnoah.Zero in 'season 2s that completely missed the boat'.

It's almost insulting that they kept the ending open in case of a third season.

story: For reasons known only to God, the officiant to our wedding (my wife's brother) decided to fill in the date on our marriage license to read "14/10/17" instead of "10/14/17" because apparently he was feeling European that night.  So since there is no 14th month of this (or any) year, the license office couldn't file our marriage certificate.  That meant that I had to go downtown at the buttcrack of dawn, get molested by city/county building security, pick up a new license, fill out the wedding date FOR our officiant, drive all the way back to my wife's school, have her sign it and then mail it to Ohio so he can sign it again and then send it back to us.

I'm a tad... vexxed... by this morning's turn of events.

MM/DD/YY holds no logic though =/

The Helper Monkey / Dealing with mother who expressed suicidal thoughts
« on: October 27, 2017, 06:02:04 PM »
I have zero knowledge about depression and/or suicide but I am forced to deal with a situation involving both and as such, I'd like whatever advice any of you may offer.

My mother who has terminal cancer has finally reached the point of acceptance about a week ago and it seems it's sending her into a depression. There're a couple of other bad news that have flown her way too which seem to have pushed her to the edge.

Today she expressed suicidal thoughts while talking with one of her friend over the phone. Said friend called me immediately after to warn me.
I managed to have her accompanied most of the day by my uncle to watch over her today.
She lives about 2.5 hours away from me so I cannot be very present. My uncle thankfully is about 20 minutes away.

I'll be going to see her over the weekend too to assess and assist.

I'm not sure what it is that I should or can do.
As I see it, there are 3 options available to me:

#1 She is being followed by a nurse and a social worker who specialize in terminal cancers. She meets them often and they are supposed to deal with physical and mental issues. Option #1 would be to trust in the system and let the professionals handle it.

#2 Her friend called a suicide hotline for tips and gave me a rundown of things we could do to help her. Things like helping her find motivation and helping her deal with her fears which are weighting her down. This would mean me steering her somewhere better without touching the subject and pretty much pretending I do not know about it. Problem is, my mom is perceptive and if she picks up on it, I really don't know how it could go about.

#3 Talk to her about it and confront her (this seems like a terrible idea)

Any input or advice would be welcomed.

Did I miss something or has there been an unusually long radio silence about the next game?

Vesperia's 10th year is in 2018 btw... just saying ya know...
