Even Def Wave would be good if it weren't available on Silas (although you do have to 5 star him for EDW3), Boost Skills fell off almost immediately after getting introduced when Infernal and onwards inflated HP totals to well beyond anything you'll ever have. Brazen Atk/Def is good since having more than one freebie Brazen to stuff in the S-slot helps a lot, even if Ares comes with it at 4 stars.

As for Deirdre, her base Spd is a thoroughly mediocre 28 so even with the +Spd boon, she's only hitting 31 before her refine effects or other buffs kick in. Having a green Res tank can be nice (although with all the red nukes nowadays, and even with high Res tanking potential Ophelia is still liable to blow up any Deirdres thrown her way).

As for your Minerva, she'll always have better availability over Summer Innes.

First major events:

Every inhabitant of the town give a gift and the gifts are thrown around randomly for people to grab.
Short, but fun and profitable.

Stardew Valley
There's a dance but none of the girls want to dance with me and it makes me recall back in primary school when they did those dance events and they wanted the kids to dance and how no girl ever wanted to dance with me and how soul crushing that was and how it messed me up inside for the rest of my life.

Yeah... point to Portia.

Well at least you can soon delete your flaw. Hard to choose between +RES and +SPD for Dierdre, but I guess the former is best now with her refine being what it is.

My pull on Hot Springs decided to send me the wrong flier in the form of Minerva. She's +SPD -ATK, but since I also have a +HP -ATK of her gathering dust for like the past year and a half or something she might just get some use once flaw removal comes in. Gen 1 BST does her no favors with Summer Innes being pretty much a better version of her, but she has her niche with that Hauteclere still.

4* Hone Fliers probably removes some of the butthurt, really helps with those budget Flier teams (and you get to sacrifice Camilla at an altar for catharsis). Also Tempest Trials was mined and we're getting Fire Boost, Brazen ATK/DEF and Even Def Wave. Brazen's nice, but I think I'll leave the other two alone. They have their uses but Arcade Coins come in way too slow for them to be worth the investment IMO.

True to how Langrisser usually is, it's more "RPGish" than Fire Emblem is, with the equipment slots, all kinds of character upgrades, flashy numbers and the like, so I'm under the impression this is one of those cases where they'll probably lean harder into straight numerical powercreeping (FEH does that too but from what I understand FEH's actually one of the more lenient in those terms). This game also has PvP but it's probably going to be even more whale-dominated than FEH is, so I say just take the game casually and don't stress about keeping up-to-date with whatever stupid meta forms. I pretty much have only fought Beginner matches and it looks like I can get the standard weekly rewards just doing that.

Also it has the Masaya logo on it, but is supposedly developed by some Chinese company. I honestly know jack about the Chinese gaming industry so I have no idea where Zlongame fits in here and if this is supposed to be standard Chinese mobage quality, but putting all that aside it does feel unpolished UI-wise. The first thing everyone points out is that there's a public chat box that's basically always on and can't be hidden, and by default they have that niconicovideo style crowd-yelling floating text thing toggled on for whatever reason. The latter is easily toggled off, but I don't even understand why the former exists- a single line from the general chat channel probably is rarely going to do me any good, and it can get in the way of some other UI elements (Using iPhone SE FTR).

There's a lot of pretty tiny buttons (but to be fair, not much smaller than some of the icons in Dragalia Lost for example) which makes all the menu flipping kinda annoying. Also lots and lots of menus in menus in menus. Someone should clean this shit up.

By far the worst part of the UI though, is how dialogue boxes work- for some reason dialogue rolls in and there's no speed control, and if you touch the screen while the dialogue is rolling in it will skip the line instead of just displaying it all immediately as most games do. The single dialogue speed is actually decently fast so it's not unbearable to sit through or anything, but I've had several cases where I accidentally skipped lines either through fatfingering or just muscle memory.

Speaking of the dialogue, the translation is pretty shoddy in many parts, but I'm not going to be too hard on it. I spotted a few goofed line placements and Engrish, but it wasn't enough that I didn't know what was happening (though I'm already familiar with Langrisser's story so that might contribute).

Finally, the most unpleasant map I've done so far is the spacetime fold thingy sending me to that one chapter in Langrisser II where you're running away from the fire at Jessica's house. On this map if Jessica dies, you lose, but if you don't clear enemies in the back before charging forward to escape Jessica just decides she wants to stand in the fire to do 5 damage to that stupid Falcon Knight I left behind and then die immediately.

Anyway tl;dr is: Having some fun, probably won't get too invested though. Hopefully generates interest in the series and we'll get that proper I&II remake ported.

Especially since that means I might actually have to look into it.

I'm of two minds in regards to Langrisser mobile. On the one hand, I really want to support the series, and maybe show that there is a potential market out here in the west. On the other hand, its mobage. And on the lower third ligament, I've had just about enough of FEH's mind-wracking time sink as is (especially since its gotten really toxic and I don't need that kind of stress).

Probably not worth its own thread for the moment given that the FEH thread is basically just Aeolus and I and this point, but in case anyone was curious, Langrisser Mobile just launched today.

From what I've seen so far, it's typical Gacha stuff of course. Really low pull rates (though I guess Langrisser's cast is much smaller so it's somewhat appropriate), lots of grindy systems everywhere and multiple types of currency. I'll figure it out later (or not).

Gameplay-wise it's much closer to Langrisser III than any other entry, an interesting choice given how that's sort of considered the black sheep (fortunately they never, ever made another one after V so they definitely never made one that would be more controversial). Generals and grunt units are combined into a single unit with two life bars, but so far I haven't seen too much play where that actually matters because the grunt life bar runs out much faster. Anyway aping Langrisser III was probably the right choice in this case given how that simplifies input significantly, and even as is this game's basic gameplay is more complex than FEH's- with mobile games you probably don't want to make it to intensive.

It's what you expect out of Langrisser. Sword > Lance > Cavalry > Sword, Priest > Monster, Ranged get ganked up close. Map size and unit movement is much closer to what you'd get out of a typical console SRPG, rather than FEH's simplified 1-3 movement units. There's equipment upgrading and unit class changing (including a quiz at the beginning to determine Bland Lead's class as per usual).

Not much to say about the story so far, typical throwaway gacha crossover crap, but one thing I do find really interesting is that there's a timewarp thing in the story where they put tl;dr versions of Langrisser I and II maps, complete with story, into the game (and I imagine the other entries will come down the line). In a way that makes this the first Western release of the classic Langrissers since we got Warsong on the Genesis, which is kinda depressing.

Good luck with your AR climb Hathen. We're at the point now where higher end players have enough Dew to invest in a Lv 3 Offense and Defense fort so don't expect any support from them (whales probably have enough to go Lv 2/Lv 4 on Offense/Defense if they're running enough bullshit).

As for CYL3 voting practices, my efforts are solely on backing the superior waifus. That means a vote for Ayra, at least one of the Lucias, Miranda, Larcei, Machyua, Karin, and then a wild card because fuck only having 7 votes (I'm going to lay off Olwen this year due to last year's 776's 'banner').

At any rate, I expect the declining player base to have a strong influence on the turnout this year as well as the recent addition of Beasts (although whether that means another year dominated by Fateshit is the real question; a strong barometric on who's still getting whaled). But unfortunately, the elephant in the room this year is once again Smash.

For males, yeah, Marth has the best chance this year, with Chrom, Alm and Bruno as runner ups (while I doubt that Reinhardt can ride the meme-train up to the top 2 males due to that 776 'banner'; a Glade upset would be amazing, even if incredibly unlikely due to not ranking nearly as badly this year; a Bloom upset would be a riot, even if he has even less of a chance to rate than Glade). The two biggest male wild cards IMO are Dadfonse and Helbindi (meme axes have surprised us before in Dorcas, Lot and Marty). Eliwood might also cause a disruption due to being the only FE7 lord to lack a Brave alt. Fortunately, even with the Smash bump, M!Corrin probably wont break into the top 10.

For females though, its nowhere near as clear cut. Thanks to the several months of Alt spam, I can't imagine Camilla even ranking top 10 (unless again, this game truly has turned into Fates/Alt Royals). Eirika probably won't do as well either due to her recent Christmas/Legend alts and that we're thinking back to this time last year where Eirika received her first alt (but the GBA era seems to have the most persistent fanbase so who knows). Selkie and Velouria probably stand to clean the most house now that game mechanics no longer stand in their way (but then their votes might have been because of the lack of said mechanics, and the Fates Spam/Alt Salt might spill over onto them as well). Female Corrin still sadly has a real chance at landing a top 10 spot just on Smash support alone (even in spite of all her Alt Salt). And then there are wildcards like Laevatein and Laegjarn who, in spite of FEH's meh writing, still made strong impressions onto the fanbase. Eir, Hel and Queen Embla have powerful possibilities as well (especially the latter two for the Dracula Chair and the Adult Veronica loophole respectfully), but then, last year, nobody expected most of these OCs to become playable by the end of Book 2, so that might also influence things. And then there's Momrena.... Never underestimate the power of a playable mom.

Admittedly, a Miccy upset on top of her being the January Mythic isn't entirely unpossible. Thanks to the 7 vote limit and being unable to change a vote or fill in a blank vote. Priestess Miccyune might still be a possibility (alternatively, an Altina alt would be fucking amazing, but unlikely to happen even in the above case).

Edit: Amusingly, with this Bathhouse banner, there's now more Green Fates alts than there are Green Fates characters in the draw pool (yes, that includes 5 star locked Rhajat, Valla F!Korn and F!Kana).

Into the pool Edit: So the datas have been mined and it turns out that Freebie Camilla's passing out 4 star Hone Fliers. This basically means that every C skill from launch will be available at 4 stars in some fashion (not that many of them are still worth it by now). Still waiting on Quick Riposte and the Close/Distant Counters. Other than that, have fun with noodle armed Tits MacRump. As for pulls, I could've sworn I was pulling from the Hot Springs Pool, but instead, I ended up with another Deirdre (+Spd/-Def at least, too bad I already have a +Res/-HP one). At least she didn't set me back any Orbs this time. Guess I'm waiting for the Mystic banner now.

Starting playing My Time At Portia

If you liked Stardew Valley, there's pretty much no way you could dislike that game.
From the little I've played, I think it might even be better.
I'll see when I hit midgame/lategame but the early game feels better.
