"Achtung baby" sounded so wrong in Yuri Lowenthall's voice in AA5.

Return of Maya! PUMPED!

Hmm, not sure how to feel about this one. AA5 was mostly a pretty solid return to form. But at the very end I just found the final villain as a whole to be...a major let down. Both in concept, reveal, and breakdown. Which for an AA game is almost an instant-failing grade. You play these games for both the character ride en-route and the major climactic finale. When one of these two things breaks, the game as a whole suffers pretty handily.

Cautiously optimistic, but if they mess up the ending's pacing here again I'll likely be done with the series.

yeahhh, i felt that way, too. sort of how i felt at the end of ace attorney/prof. layton when it was like,
Code: [Select]
"the whole town is on drugs!" ... felt like sort of a cop-out ending? idk...

They're not really visual novels; There's a lot of reading, but they're point and click detective adventures. They'd be called ADV in Japan, not VNs. Adventure games are within our coverage too!

I would say that Marty is correct in that they fall in the adventure/point-and-click genre.  There is a significant amount of VN characteristics, but there is more player interaction than a typical VN.  That being said, I thought AA5 tried really hard to get back to form after Apollo Justice, but as stated earlier, fell flat due to the poor ending (though definitely not ME3 horrible).  I hope that with the return of some classic characters (Maya, especially!!!!!), they can regain some of that old Ace Attorney spirit!

Still confused aobut Capcom's business decisions though....they bring over AA: Investigations 1 but not the 2nd, then they bring over Ace Attorney 5 on digital download only.  Then they refuse to bring over The Great Ace Attorney, yet immediately announce Ace Attorney 6.  I am baffled by those particular decisions as they all did really well here in the states, to my knowledge.  Why choose some titles over others?

My thoughts? I can't get enough of these games. I really don't mind the digital only release of the previous entry. If it makes more viable for us English speakers to get it localized then I'm all for it!
