I finished all four episodes of .hack//G.U. Last Recode, and am definitely glad it's over.

Still working on Toukiden: Kiwami, and just got to Chapter 9.

I didn't think the original VC was that easy, either.

I beat Vol. 1 of .hack//G.U. Last Recode, and my initial impressions on it largely remain unchanged. The Avatar battles really kept me on my toes, and some of the music is good, but I really hate having to sit through voiced cutscenes, the story for me seemed to go nowhere, the translation often seemed direct and the dialogue horribly redundant at points, the voicework was hit-or-miss (the females like Atoli seemed to get the worst VA), and the graphics I didn't think look all that polished.

I'm still cruising along in Toukiden: Kiwami, which is a tad repetitive with having to fight some of the same bosses over and over, but I really dig the soundtrack, and different equipment changing the protagonist's appearance is a plus by me.

I decided to invest some of my money into better armor for some of my characters in Romancing SaGa, and I think I've got a handle on some of the more powerful enemies.

Still waiting on next story missions in Kingdom Hearts Union X. Hope they wrap the storyline by the time KH3 comes out.

Right now I'm dividing my time among The Chronicles of Narnia, the Eve of Redemption series by Joe Jackson, and The Wheel of Time saga. I'm going through Narnia chronologically and finished off The Magician's Nephew; not sure if it could be adapted well to film unless they included tons of filler, but it was still a good origin story. Eve of Redemption centers around anthropomorphic dragon characters, and while I'm intrigued, I have a bit of a hard time remember what the characters actually look like. I'm through The Fires of Heaven in WoT and actually understood
Spoiler: show
when Moiraine dies
, and am liking them more than I did previously.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode - On the first game right now, and I have to say, boy am I glad I didn't play these games during the PS2 era and waited on buying the collection on the PS4 for a discount, since while the gameplay's fine by me, the rest of it seems really phoned-in. No lip movement during most cutscenes? Unskippable text during most story scenes? Insufferable voicework? No real visual upgrade other than being made widescreen? Sorry, that's not my idea of a "remaster." Zodiac Age did it way better.

Romancing SaGa - All my characters have skills that hit all enemies, and I'm having a blast. I finished the quest regarding getting a feather from a giant bird's nest, which necessitated upgrading my climb ability.

Toukiden: Kiwami - On Chapter 7, going through the side-missions before taking on the story missions. I think the defensive playstyle is my favorite, since I get a little gauge that takes hits instead of my character's HP.

Saw a key plot scene for Claudia in Romancing SaGa, and ended up losing both her animal companions. Luckily, I was able to fill in the gap with two story characters, which now entirely compose my party, after finding I could actually travel to a large variety of locations.

In Chapter 5 of Toukiden: Kiwami, and am taking my time with side missions.

Played some more Toukiden: Kiwami, but am still in Chapter 4, despite spending more time than usual with the game.

I recruited a lizard man in Romancing SaGa and actually finished a quest to get a monetary reward, and I'll probably keep him since I sparked a powerful ability that hits all enemies for a good amount, alongside Claudia's bow skill that hits all foes.

I enjoyed Arcadia, but think it would be better with an option to speed up battles and in-game tracking of enemy weaknesses (I remember needing to use the manual constantly to see what enemies were weak against). I've heard some people complain about the soundtrack, but methinks they're just tone-deaf and wouldn't know good RPG music if it bit them in the butt.

I played plenty Toukiden Kiwami on a day-trip, and am still in Chapter 4.

I've liked what I've played of the PS2 Romancing SaGa thus far, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Okay, then.

Still waiting for the next story missions in Kingdom Hearts Union X.

Finished exploring the dinosaur caves in Romancing SaGa, and have the dinosaur egg. It has a hefty price but I'm not sure I want to part with it yet in case it's necessary for some quest.

Still in Chapter 3 of Toukiden: Kiwami, progressing slowly but surely.

I sort of have interest in The Banner Saga, but I've been too disappointed by several critically-acclaimed games to commit to playing those particular titles. I do like some tactical RPGs such as the Disgaea and Valkyria Chronicles series, though.

I beat Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II (Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei) late last month and liked it despite being slightly grindy. Here's what I'm working on now:

Kingdom Hearts Union X - Still awaiting the next story missions. I hope it wraps up before Kingdom Hearts III comes out.

Romancing SaGa (PlayStation 2) - My first foray into the Romancing trilogy. I chose Claudia as my starting character, and have taken a ship to a field with several caves, which I'm exploring at the moment. Seems to do the open world aspect better than the first frontier game, since not everything's available from the get-go, and it has very strong potential.

Toukiden: Kiwami - Doing quests in Chapter 3. I started having a better time when I discovered that you could use face button commands. Definitely easy to overlook.

I've heard mixed things about this game and am not sure if I want to play it or not.

Glad the game seems to be good based on the review, but boo to counting off points for Sugiyama's soundtrack.

Still in Chapter 2 of Toukiden Kiwami where I have to solo a boss, which has been a bit difficult, although I'll try again with a maxed-out Mitama.

In Hell in Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II, at the castle surrounded by fire, and have been moving slowly but surely.

The Aladdin subquest in Kingom Hearts Union X seems over, and I've just been occasionally doing raids.

I always wished that other rpgs would take grandia's battle system and refine/push it forward. I always loved it.
I think Atelier Iris 2 and Child of Light did Grandia-esque battle systems well.
