This game is really reminding me more and more of "The Last Story". And not just because of all the black leather. The battle system looks similar to me. Notice I said "looks". I realize this is nothing more than a superficial observation as we really know nothing of the mechanics or anything. That being said, I liked that battle system. It could be very tactical at times.

I had not really been following the development of this much having never been THAT into the series. I played Origins and skipped 2. I liked origins on ps3, but every encounter seemed to just turn into a free-for-all no matter how much time that I spent programming tactics.

I was really glad to hear that the tactics view and individual orders were being extended to all console versions this time. My interest in the title just shot way up, as I plan to play it on ps3.

Has anyone heard if there will be any major gameplay omissions in the PS3 version? I was planning to play it on that system and was wondering if I should wait until I upgrade my PC...

Left hand.

Oh okay, I see it now.

Wow, RoS is actually being released on the PS3 and the 360 in August. Blizzard promised that they would do everything to support the initial console releases, and it looks like they are. Kudos all around.

Where the hell is this "shotgun" that everyone keeps going on about? I've seen nothing in the entire set of "leaked" pics that even resembles a shotgun, yet it's all I've heard about. What am I missing???

I've gotta get back into this one. I was all in and making great progress, but got sucked into Dark Souls land the last few weeks...

So why again am I pre-ordering a download-only title?

I'm only assuming here, but maybe is because you liked what you saw despite of potentially being a very jaded person? Dunno.

Yeah, something like that. Really looking forward to co-opping this with my wife. From what I've seen, it's like they made a game specifically for the two of us. The story, art, and music all look superb. I still can't believe they're only charging $15 for it...

Don't know, but there it is...

The biggest change in the combat mechanics IMO is how you don't immediately raise your shield anymore.

That and the "Stagger" or "Guard Break" animation that take FOREVER...

Your dude kinda just throws his arms up in slow motion like "well I'm screwed now"...

Sword to face

This just looks better with each preview. Really looking forward to co-oping this with my wife. Don't tell Ubisoft, but I would have paid WAY more for this...

Yeah, the gameplay and structure remind me a LOT of the better parts of Paper Mario, which is a very good thing IMO. Also, the RPG elements are surprisingly in-depth. Character customization, socketed items, etc., it's all in there...
