Ah, that is so IGN "Let's just post a list of every upcoming game we know about then just add a column on whether or not we know it will be shown at E3. Then let's call it the 2013 Games of E3 list." The internet focuses too much on digging up E3 news prior to the event. 'Cause, you know, apparently people just hate surprises.

Hell, I don't even like when people spoil the Tuesday PSN updates for me.

My prediction is that Nintendo are the ones to beat this year and that Ubisoft and Sony have the best chance to do so.

Konami is irrelevant.

Mircosoft has already seized last place.

EA may surprise us with Mirror's Edge 2 and Dragon's Age 3 might not suck. Otherwise they're irrelevant.

Ubisoft will probably focus on showing support for the next round of consoles as well as the usual Ass Creed and Rayman. They could still surprise us with yet another new IP though.

Sony has a new console and may announce a new IP or two to go with it. I'd be nice to see them push Vita harder this year as well. They may also have news on The Last Guardian or FFXIIIVersus (although the latter is highly unlikely). They may also waste everybody's time again this year by trying to reintroduce the Magic Book bullshit from last year or something similarly stupid. Who knows.

Nintendo potentially has everything inbetween, from shit like Nintendo Video mkII and Super Scribblenaughts again somehow to a litany of 1st party games such as LttP2, Xenoblade 2, SSB4, SMTxFE, and so on. The one thing I do know though is that they're avoiding last year's mistake of letting guys with meager presentation skills waste everybody's time by fumbling about with the game they're presenting.

Squeenix is irrelevant. Sony will most likely have their most worthwhile announcement. It suddenly occurs to me that Squeenix does have something worth looking forward to when I was trying to recall what the Deadly Premonition team was up to (i.e. helping out with Drakengard 3). Beyond that though, meh.

Capcom could announce Dragon's Dogma 2 with multiplayer and blow everyone out of the water.

Time for a list of things that would be a dream come true but will most likely not happen:

- Golden Sun 4 on the Wii-U
- PS2 classics support on Vita
- Dragon Quest going back to Playstation
- Information on Dreamfall Chronicles
- Professor Layton x Ace Attorney being localized (Pffffft)
- Metroid 2.5D platformer on 3DS.

Why is Konami not relevant? I missed that part. They're coming out with MGSV and LoS2. I loved every previous Metal Gear, and Lords of Shadow was a great reboot. I'm looking forward to both of those games. Maybe they'll even announce a handheld Castlevania better than the one we got. OR MAYBE SUIKODEN WUT

Doesn't matter. He's still a salty individual. :P

Why is Konami not relevant?

Because they mainly publish stuff from other studios, but not entirely.

I keep up with release dates of games I'm looking forward to. I'm talking the PS+ free game of the week, sales, and the occasional surprise classic (Like when they posted Fatal Frame 1 & 2 out of the blue).

It was only meant as a joke. Didn't realise how bitter it sounded until I reread it. I would actually love if they brought that over. Even if it is not connected to the main series it looks really fun.

Kojima's studio is practically its own entity at this point and they've going on about MGSV for the better part of the year now. They probably won't have much more to say about the game outside of this year's tactical watermelon slicing action gimmick or a stage that looks suspiciously like the Caribbean circa the 17th century and features assassin pirates.

Lords of Shadow, to me, was little more than a God of War clone that didn't offer enough to consider playing (although I do have access to it should I change my mind). Also Mirror of Fate looked incredibly boring last year. This year I expect to see yet another God of War clone that doesn't really do anything different from its immediate predecessor to distinguish the two apart.

Beyond that, what's to expect? Another Silent Hill that completely misses the point yet again? Another Suikoden that's farmed out to Tri-Ace? Another Vandal Hearts that uglier than sin? Another Gradius that just a cheap iOS port (or god help us, another creepy Otomedius game)? Another Contra that's farmed out to Wayforward? Something new that's strictly for iOS or Pachinko Machines? Or perhaps another N3 game but this time with "TUO MIRRION TOOPSU!!!"?

Another possible Assassin's Creed tie in? <:)

Especially since MGSV supposedly starts on Peacewalker's Motherbase Snake and Miller's happy fun-time sea-fort before Major Zero and a flaming Moby Dick decides to trash it. It wouldn't take much at all for Snake to sail out to an inconspicuous island and find the latest Ezio ganking pirate Knight Templars.

Personally, I'm looking forward to what SQEX is saving to show at E3 this year along with Bungie's Destiny and Tango Gameworks' The Devil Within.

It bothers me a bit that Destiny is gonna be published by Activision though...

I am looking forward to hearing more about the game. I really liked one and two, and while Deadly Shadows was my least favourite it was still a good game. I was disappointed to hear Stephan Russel may have been replaced though. His voice for Garret was great and really fit the character.

So Konami's done their thing.

Apparently they've been selling DDRs to schools. Didn't see that coming.

Also Jack Bauer is the new Snake. Not surprised.

Also also Mega64 is still the best part of these things.

That was alright.

The last time they did this it was better because (at least for what I remember) nobody knew that Mega64 was doing a thing with Konami back then. Now is just like; "yeah that happened and it was funny", the joke lose a bit of the effect because is something that I was expecting.

Either way I was fairly surprised of what was shown of Lords of Shadows 2.

Everybody knew that Mega64 was doing a thing last year as well. In that case it was more picturing the guy playing Raiden actually showing up on a bus or something, acting awkwardly, and imagining the ensuing discomfort versus this year which was a fat shirtless guy cosplaying in a poorly lit skit for five minutes with the occasional chuckle worthy bit.

That said, if what they said during the video about the game being more open world is true then I'll actually have something to look forward to when they next discuss the game.

New Darkstalkers would be great.  I met this girl at a camping festival we played who had a cool Morrigan/Lilith tattoo and we started geeking out over Darkstalkers since few people she knows is into Darkstalkers.  Such an underrated series.

As for me, I'm just looking forward to seeing the hidden treasures people bump into on the show floor.  When I went last year, it was the unexpected and out-of-the-way stuff that really stuck with me.

They're going to announce the latest Street Fighter 4 revision? Or are they going to announce RE6 Mercenaries edition? Or perhaps they got Wayforward to make them a Rescue Rangers Remastered to go along with DuckTales Remastered? Or, as unlikely as this seems, they may have been contacted by Nintendo to make a crossover title ala Pokemon Conquest and SMTxFE (maybe something crazy like Megaman x Donkey Kong or Star Breath of Fox)?

Not really a big fan of the new voice. Hopefully it is just a matter of getting used to it, and it will grow on me. It seems to lack the sarcastic dry wit of the previous games, although it was just a trailer though, so it is all presumptions on my part.

“Nosgoth exists and is in active development, but is not a traditional Legacy of Kain action-adventure game”, and added: “Nosgoth is set in the same universe as previous LoK games, but on a different branch to the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver series. The community should not be thinking of Nosgoth in terms of a single-player experience.”

^Darkstalkers 4 might be more likely but is still a risk that I doubt Capcom is willing to take easily.

I think a Darkstalkers 4 done in SFIV style would sell. I don't think people care if they know the characters or not. If it was done right, it would be a EVO tournament game. Fans of fighters would grab it. Its not like there are many other options at this point. Hell, throw some sf chars in just to make it relevant to people on the fence..

In that case they might as well do Street Fighter V instead of bothering with Darkstalkers 4.

I really don't think the sf4 artstyle would fit Darkstalkers. The Kof 13 style would probably be suited better but from what I hear, hand-drawing those animations took FOREVER for SNK.

XBone:

Launches in November $499.

5 minute delay.

360 redesign mk2. 2 free games for gold mems only.

Girls und Panzer the MMO World of Tanks for 360.

Max the Curse of Brotherhood and Dark Souls 2 also for 360.

Ryse: Call of Duty: Romandy Invasion. Press Y to stomp a dude. Press LT to call your army over to run a ballista.

Killer Instinct. No B. Orchid.

Sunset Overdrive. Serious Sam meets Zombies Ate My Neighbor. An FPS.

Forza Motorsport 5. Drivatar, it remembers when you accidentally had the sucker in reverse.

Minecraft. Continues to be everywhere.

Quantum Break. Maybe it'll suck less than that one Syfy show/game tie-in. No gameplay.

D4. Okay this one looks promising. Best game of the MS show.

Project Spark. Make your own game for dummies.

Smart glass bullshit. KI curbstomp, recorded for posterity, get useless comments from Twitch.

MS Points now money, share gold profile.

Crimson Dragon. Like Panzer Dragoon but without the sound.

Dead Rising 3 Sledgesaws.

The Witcher 3 free roaming and banging mermaids.

Battlefield 4. And there's the technical difficulties. Also an FPS.

Below. Looks cool beans if a bit too zoomed out.

Some not GitS tech demo, and a Halo at 60FPSes and with Giant Robots.

Titanfall. Halo with Giant Robots. Also an FPS.

And MS is done. They brought the games/trailers but with a $500 bones price tag and Smartglass all over the place, still not winning this thing.

Probably more inline with Deadly Premonition than the D series that Kenji Ito started. Especially with the episodic murder mystery format and the fact that Swery65 is behind it.

But if it is supposed to be tied to D then let me quote a post I made before this in the E3 predictions thread.

Quote
And 3 more for the road.

1) The Nivida Shield will flop because it wants to turn highly mobile smartphones into massive, bulky, cumbersome handhelds and does nothing else.
2) The Ouya will have a demonstration in a pushcart across the street from the E3 pavilion. The Ouya 2 will also be announced.
3) Kenji Ito will rise from his grave to present D3. It will be set in purgatory.

The number is wrong but I may yet have called it (zombie game producers not withstanding).

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact I have no problems with a game that has a "good [enough] excuse" to take me to exotic locations and time periods in history to assassinate people.

・I think they said it was monthly.

・Is said that Microsoft used a bunch of money for devs to lie about their game being "Only on Xbox". The Witcher 3 is not exclusive.

Ubisoft wanted to make a pirate game.  Hey, that's fine.  But why is it an Assassin's Creed game?

Because is easy to make money when you have name recognition with an IP like Assassin's Creed.

Ubisoft:

Rocksmith 2014 Edition. And Aisha's sporting more Girlwood.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Still a part of the 4th echelon.

Rayman Legend. Again.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot. Amusing trailer for a game that looks to be along the lines of Temco's Deception series except you get to play through other people's traps.

South Park: The Stick of Truth. The Nagasaki Fart. More of the same.

The Crew. Cruisin' GTA.

Watch Dogs. Still looks promising.

Just Dance 2014. Just more of the same.

Rabbids Invasion. And now a TV show in which people can make a spectacle of themselves.

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag. Moar of the Assassin's of the Caribbean.

Trials Fusion/Frontier. Excitebike for everybody but Nintendo.

The Division. And here's the new title.

A lot of supposed open world games this year, I wonder how many of them will live up to their promises. Definitely more entertaining than MS's and EA's conferences, but nothing new aside from The Division.

Didn't read all the posts here, but I found it kind of weird MS didn't give an exact release date. Especially since they're starting preorders already. Aside from that, I liked a lot of what they showed. I think the extra boost One games are going to get from cloud computing is going to kick the PS4's ass. And I'm not biased because I'm getting both. Just what i saw looks so much better than the PS4 games I saw. PS4 looks to still have jaggies". Talk going around at E3 that the "good" PS4 gamers will want is going to be 600 bucks. A big mistale on their part. All they had to do is sell the PS4 50 bucks less than the One and they'd have sold millions more, and more games too, which makes their money for them. Titanfall and especially battlefield 4 looked AMAZING.

Dude, MS's "cloud computing" has absolutely nothing to do with rendering or jaggies.  Zero.  Zilch.  The only way that could work is if you were going to render the entire game remotely and stream it ala Onlive, which requires massive bandwidth and low latency connections to be remotely usable (and also introduces compression artifacts) and isn't what MS is doing.

It's not even clear what MS even means by "cloud computing" here.  Mostly they just seem to be throwing the term around because it's a buzzword.

Also, what PS4 games are you comparing to?  Early builds from 4 months ago?  Sony hasn't done their thing so far and nobody that I've noticed has actually said what platform the multiplats being shown are oon (though it's probably PC).

Sony bought out Gaikai, which is supposably the leading innovator in cloud technology. So if anything Sony is going to have the better cloud power. Battlefield 4 is going to be on current gen consoles as well as Xbox One and PS4, and Titanfall will also be available for PC, 360, and Xbox One.

And to justify the broadband requirement. This is the same way Simcity required constant online connectivity because the simulations were just too powerful for our humble PCs and had to be done on their end, which as there's now an offline hack out is as debunked as bs can get.

Of course the XBone games are going to look better than PS3 games. You're comparing a system running on, at least, 6 year old tech versus a system that hasn't even launched yet.

And that's assuming that said PS3 jaggies aren't being caused by a crappy TV on your end.

There's also that rumor floating around about how MS paid off numerous companies to keep multiplatform games shown as xbox only. So outside of exclusives, we may not see any ps4 multiplatform crap. I mean....MGSV being shown during the xbox conference? Something smells fowl.

You can't fault them for that.

None of their games were very interesting to me though, other than Panzer Dragoon Soundless (lol) and the new Swery (Deadly Premonition) game. That wasn't listed as an exclusive though so I assume it's coming to PS4 as well.

And what a cock slap to the face of gamers by not even addressing the issue of used games - then turning around and slapping a $499 price on it.

I literally lol'd.

I missed Ubi and EA due to sleeping, but I'm guessing I missed nothing.

Did you see the reveal in February for PS4? MANY journalists in attendance said the games lacked visual flair. Adam Sessler recommended heavily on it. The Killzone footage I saw didn't wow me, neither did the other PS4 footage I've seen so far. Most recently today when they showed the new Castlevania running on PS4. Looked nothing next-gen like. Better than what? Almost nothing shown was Xbox One exclusive. It's all either PS4 or PC as well. And Sony hasn't even started their presentation.

You're comparing apples to... invisible apples? No shit the apples look better. You can see them.

I hope I'm wrong, because I plan on getting both.

Did you see the reveal for One? They didn't even mention gaming. I'll give the Gaming award to PS4 as far as unveils go.

I know one thing, I'm hoping the price for the top tier PS3 isn't 599 like people have said they heard there at E3 today. If they're smart they'll sell it 50 bucks below what they're asking for One.

That's easy to say, but they do have to turn in a profit at one point. The consoles are probably already selling at a loss right now.

EA... New Mirror's Edge and Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Both will be half finished but the DLC conclusions will be available day 1. Also they announced Star Wars: Battlefront but have not yet even begun to work on making the game. lol.

Indifferent about Mirror's Edge. I hated the combat in the first game.

Battlefront is a nice surprise, but I'm expecting it to be Xbone and Origin only, so it's a moot point for me.

The fact KH3 showed Sora's pants move and ruffle around as he ran or did any sort of movement was enough to impress me (as silly as it is).  I think it was why and when I started to realize the limits to the PS3 graphics was the fact it was so, so static looking.

And a belated Sony summary:

16 minutes late. Typical.

Vita technobabble. Not much software support though.

Last of Us, Puppeteer, Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, Batman Arkham City, etc.

Now they unveil the PS4. It looks like a tapedeck made love to the PS3 and birthed conjoined DVD players.

Multimedia crap.

The Order. A steampunk zombie 3rdPS thing. What's nice is that its not an overly designed thing like steampunk is want to be.

Killzone, Ridge Racer, Infamous, Knack. More stuff that's a thing.

Dark Sorcerer. Not even really a thing.

Transistor and a bunch of other indie games. Sticking their indie support to MS and their Xbone.

FFXIII Versus is now FFXV, still part of Fabula nova Crystalis, but the trailer was mostly new and looked stunning.

KH3. Squeenix has finally pulled the trigger.

FFXIV will also be on PS4.

Ass Creed Black Dogs. Yet again.

Watch Dogs. Yet again.

NBA 2K14. More sports.

Elder Scrolls Online. MMO.

Mad Max. Not much but I guess more MM never hurts.

Destiny. Aka Halo with Coop, skill levels, and loot.

And the price point of $400 for the US, $350 for the UK plus confirmed backwards compatibility. Just to rub salt in XBone's wounds.

For the record this seems to just be Gaikai streaming, which isn't true BC though it's a consolation prize at least. And the lack of mention of PS1 or PS2 implies they'll just straight up emulate those on PS4, like I expected.

You know what the sad part is? This was Sony last generation. Ludicrous price point, logic out the window, and basically an overabundance of flexing that gave them nothing but grief for years. Difference is Sony was well established and the king of consoles at that point, MS doesn't have that kind of brand loyalty yet. Maybe somewhat, but not like Sony does. This generation is clearly in Sony's favor.

Re:  Region locking.  Not surprised it wasn't said at the conference as it probably affects a somewhat small percentage of people, but given the Vita is not region locked (albeit somewhat annoying to get disabled), I'm betting PS4 will be unlocked in some form.  Hopefully....

Also, Killzone stuff looked much more interesting than previously shown.  Still a fan of Infamous3 as running around with super powers sounds pretty damn fun in my book.  Dem mutant powers.

Missed the part about FF14ARR being on PS4, but if they get a version closer to what PC owners will get, then that's awesome.

Most recently today when they showed the new Castlevania running on PS4. Looked nothing next-gen like. I hope I'm wrong, because I plan on getting both.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 is a PS3/360 gen game.  Not a PS4 game.  They can port it to the PS4/XBone but it's still pretty much going to look like a PS3 game because it was developed for the PS3.

Am I the only one enjoying reading Britton's posts?  I can practically see the straws he is so desperately grasping at.

As good as Sony's show was, I feel that it was more about sticking it to Microsoft rather than putting out something new and different aside from The Order, and I guess Destiny and perhaps Mad Max.

Squeenix were the only ones shocking and awing, but even then, the FFXV thing and the KH3 thing were more of a fucking finally moment then an actual revelation (hell everybody and their brother knew and called their appearances and the Versus name change at this show).

I disagree. 90% of the show was PS4, whether streaming media and apps or gaming. The list of points of crap PS4 won't be featuring took 5 minutes tops, and you can't say it wasn't on most of the online community's mind. The answer stuck it to MS, yeah, but the question was one we were all asking.

True. But what about the Vita? That thing got written off faster than the PSP did.

Besides, focusing entirely on a new console doesn't win you an E3. Just ask Nintendo circa 2012 (although it would've helped if one of the other consoles had a critical existence failure for the big N to publicly flog instead of desperately trying to court 3rd party developers and getting stiffed badly).

Ah yes.  Poor, poor Vita.
The sad and ignored orphaned child right now, it seems.

Also, I think all Nintendo has to do is whisper "Smash Bros" and they've earned the ears of people.

I remember reading that the AC4 people thought Asia was too boring, even though they could've set it around one of the China/Japan disputes, had pirates and actual assassins (ninjas) but still have naval battles since people liked those a lot.
I'd like to see them do the French revolution since their main studio is french canadian.

They'll also probably subtly stick in a jab at game piracy in a game about good guy pirates.

Asia too boring? They don't have an equally long and interesting history as the West no sirree it's all Samurai and uh, Emperors over there. Seriously, that is bullshit. You have Zheng He and the treasure fleets which gives access to all of Indo-China. You have England meeting China or America opening up Japan with the Blackships which has that West meets East thing. And then you'd still have ships and it could be about the Assassin's trying to establish connections in Japan since the East is mostly Templar. You have the Boxer rebellion with interesting politicking going on. You have Japans invasion of Korea. You could have the other important artifacts that they seem to have forgot about and set it earlier than the first AC and then you have access to anything.
Well that was a rant, but yeah I asked for the French Revolution when I heard AC3 was going to be further in the future than the others. It is much more interesting than the American Revolution. Plus they ruined their chance to have the Battle of Montreal in AC3 so clearly they don't care.

Apparently the PS4 camera is not included and costs $59 (http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/11/sonys-playstation-4-eye-is-a-59-add-on-ps4-packs-a-500gb-hdd/).  I guess that's part of the reason they were able to hit that $399 price point.  Oh well, still cheaper than the Xbox One even with the camera and this way if you don't want it...you don't have to get it.

The funny thing is they haven't shown off a single game that actually uses it yet...

And Microsoft showed... hell, the only Kinect game i remember them showing was the "Fantasia" game where random color dots appear on the screen while it plays music. You then wave your arms at the dots. None of it seems in synch with the music at all, but it's somehow a great immersive experience. "It's mostly like Guitar Hero... except you don't have to hit certain buttons, just flail your arms while we play you some nice music."

I don't know a lot of fighters seem to be moving towards free-to-play now, at least as an option.  And it kind of makes sense.  At their core they are multiplayer games that depend on having an active community and it's a good way to attract new players.  And they're constantly getting updates and new characters and stuff anyway, so it's a more natural way to deliver things than having hyper tubo mega deluxe versions, etc.

Heck, playing these sorts of games in the arcade was the original nickel and diming ;)

Yeah, I think fighting games are one genre I might actually not hate to see go free-to-play.  Now if you try to do that to my single-player RPGs, on the other hand, I will stab you.

Not that I care about Killer Instinct anyway because the game looks like trash and it's on the Xbone.

To be fair, a better way of looking at it is with the question of where would Knight Templars be all up in (although China did have the Silk Road and would've been a possible place for Templar activity)? Granted, it probably would've been better if they had at least focused on stuff like the raiding of Spanish treasure ships by English Privateers such as Sir Nathan Francis Drake or picking off Spanish Conquistadors instead of Pirates of the Caribbean (like that hasn't been done to death already).

But yes something like the Russian Revolution, the English conquest of India, or something like the Boar Wars would've also have made for an entertaining setting.

This is perfect for me.  I have no desire for the camera.  And if I do end up with a game where it'd be useful enough, I'll shell out the money and get it, then only plug it in long enough to play that game.  But I see that as a pretty remote possibility at this point.

Thirded.

On a different topic. I've mostly stayed out of this console war hot topic right now. The PS4 looks great, and will definitely be my console next gen. I've no interest in the Orwellian nightmare that is Xbox One, but, who are people trying to fool by saying it is going to flop? It'll do just fine, I'm sure, riding on the backs of kids and people who may as well call the Xbox their Halo machine.

Nintendo:

Well holy shit was this presentation bad.

Super Mario 3D World. They finally brought back Peach to the roster (ala SMB2).

Mario Kart 8. Now you can hang upsidedown from the track while getting blown up by a dozen consecutive Blue Spiny Shells.

Wind Waker HD. Tingle Tuner got replaced by a bottle. Everything else looks the same. Big whoop. :/

Third Party trailers. Second verse, same as the first.

Digital/Indie titles. See above.

Wonderful 101. 5 players, big whoop.

Art Academy. Now in WiiU flavor.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Now with 100% more hair.

Bayonetta 2. Now with less hair. Hey I thought Nintendo was against that kind of thing?

Big Red X. Continues to impress. I just wish it didn't look so Monster Hunter-ish.

SSBU/3DS. 3DS version doesn't look too bad, WiiU version obviously looks a hell of a lot better though. Hey look the Animal Crossing guy got in finally. And of course Samus is sporting her Other M look, fuck. And hey wait....MOTHERFUCKER!!! They finally included Megaman! Now we know why he wasn't included in Marvel vs Capco....wait? Is that IT!? WTF!?! Goddammit Nintendo!!! :doom:

Edit: And I couldn't see this during the live broadcast due to the rampant technical difficulties but....Pokemon X & Y. Now with a new Fairy Type to stick it to Dragons (and maybe make Jigglypuff/Marill suck a little bit less). The new Eeveeolution will be of that type.

SMB. I'll admit, even by their standards they've been leaning on Mario a bit much lately. At least its not a NSMB title.

SSB4. I don't mind the cel shaded look myself. It might make it easier to follow the action. The problem with Tatsukno v Capcom is that most people outside of Japan had no fucking clue as to who the hell half the cast, and due to licensing you can't even get the game anymore. Still, it's kinda sad how Capcom of Japan has more or less abandoned MM so its kinda ridiculous to see him in SSB. Still, I'm hoping the game is even half as loaded as Brawl was (and that they don't cut the demos of games stuck in Japan like they did with Earthbound and Fire Emblem 3). I suspect they probably have more characters waiting in the wings.

LoZ:aLBW. Well at least we don't have to call it aLttP2 anymore. Looks like some places are inaccessible like Shasharala's hideout (there's a statue in the doorway). And it does look like the Magic Meter has been replaced by a Stamina Gauge that replenishes over time but it also looks like the meter is upgradable like in aLttP. Now why the hell didn't they include this in the Direct video (I guess it got a mention during the E3 booth tour)?

Either way though, this proves that they brought the games this year (even if their Direct video was crap).

^ That's what makes me sad about Megaman, it looks like he's just a mascot parading around and helping other titles than actually doing his own thing (like the British Royal family).

I'm still really excited, a few days in, this E3 has been significantly better than the last 3.  Maybe it's because of that "new system wow-factor", but I'm excited for the titles nonetheless (even if Nintendo's was extraordinarily pedestrian and XBox One just served as the village idiot).

He's interviewing Reggie from Nintendo and he asked "Now, after the One and PS4 is out there, are you afraid for the WiiU. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/06/11/wii-fit-trainer-girl-joins-super-smash-bros-no-really/

And this is why I like SSB over the pretenders. Lololol.

100%, their ability to surprise is way better than what "All Stars Battle Royale" could have hoped for.

Improves the gender ratio at least. Not counting Ice Climber Nana and potentially any of the Pokemon, there were all of three playable female characters in Brawl (Zelda, Peach, and Samus) and two of them have alternate forms (and one can color scheme herself into somebody else).

Additionally: http://gematsu.com/2013/06/wii-fit-trainer-joins-super-smash-bros

Little Mac is pretty much a given as they've already showed a boxing ring stage, and given that Namdai helped develop this I can also see Pacman making it in as well. I guess the Mii will get in as well.

I'd love Midna, and there's still PLENTY of time to announce, but I thought Wii Fit Lady was a great surprise like Rob or Olimar or, of course, Game & Watch.

I don't know, doesn't sound that different from Heavy Rain to me.  Mostly it seems like they just got rid of the button prompts and tried to make things more contextually obvious.  Well, at least they fixed the horrible walking system.

I like knowing that, as a female, I can say: "Oh my god, that little girl is so cute in that little pink dress!".  Somehow, I don't think it'd be as endearing if a guy said it.

It's annoying, because I like kids. In the last few years things have flipped more and more to the point where if I say "She was so cute, that was aawesome." from a 30 year old guy in today's society a lot of people hear "I'ma molest me dat young 'un" instead of "I am an awesome guy, I'm fun, I like kids."

Haha I was half joking.  I think it's more in presentation of HOW you say something than what you say.  So long as you don't say "I'ma molest me dat young 'un HUR HUR HUR" then I think you're in the clear.

After the big press conferences that we've already had, it moves to just booths in the convention halls.  We've got lots of appointments with developers tomorrow, and the team will be walking the floor looking at everything they can, so you'll see a lot more coverage from us, but there won't be any more big scheduled things.

I was curious what Sony was planning on doing with the PS4 camera stuff.  Not that I plant to get one, but I did find it a bit odd that it wasn't mentioned at all in their press conference.  What's it even for?  I did a bit of digging and found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yArVaik7wW0)...whatever it is.  Apparently it is being demoed at E3, but I couldn't find any video of that.  I did find some random Japanese guys playing with it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM4AX6_wm-Q) for some TV show.

So..yeah.  Sony really isn't pushing this kind of stuff this time around, and that's a good thing.  Pretty dramatic change from last year's Wonderbook fiasco.  But it does exist.

Also, fun size chart:

"Rather than forcing every user to buy the camera, I think it’s better to to allow a separate purchase just for those that will enjoy it. Selling the camera separately means that the main console can be more affordable."

I'm glad they feel this way because I certainly would not want it and would be annoyed to see it baked in the price.

Then again, bundling it into the console means that 3rd party developers have a tool that they can develop for that they know has market penetration and won't be immediately abandoned after less than a handful of games like pretty much every non-bundled accessory Nintendo has ever made (not to say that 3rd party developers wont do their damnedest to try abandoning it themselves).

In first or third person you mean?

The whole thing with perspective if my biggest question because one of the guys working on Oculus Rift said a while ago that it breaks the entire experience if the game is not in first person. That and the fact that I've never seen a game on Oculus Rift (or ARAIG) from other perspective than first person.

Yes and yes. This isn't going to work for a tactical squad game very well other than moving to zoom around the battle field... but for a first person RPG this is the future I've dreamed of. Smaller squad based could use OR very well to just make you feel more like you're *in* the game, you'd only use/need Omni for the first person... but think of the glory. Skyrim, Gothic, Deus Ex, System Shock, Vampire the Masquerade, Thief, Fallout, Borderlands, Mass Effect, Bioshock.... there are a ton of FP POV games this would be amazing with.

*edit* And for games that are 3rd person or top down... this might actually make first person viable. I'd be highly interested in a Diablo/Path of Exile that could do first person with this combo... constant turning and scanning because demons could pop up anywhere could turn ARPG into something more pants shitting.

So the power of the new inFamous protagonist is... stealing powers? This is Open-World Grunge Mega Man starring Troy Baker?  I dig it.

Were there any surprise announcements from the likes of Capcom/Konami/Atlus?

what is this tripping?

Apparently you can randomly trip in SSBB. It was meant to encourage the random nature of the games and discourage the competitive aspect, but to me that just sounds dumb and not like a random thing that can actually make the game more fun.

God, I hate just how NINTENDO-sounding that is.  I actually wonder sometimes if Nintendo starts to sweat when they have a Rated M game near their system.

I do love his voice.  Looks like he's the new "Nolan North".

So, with E3 being done I would like to ask everybody here what was your game of the show?

I'll go with The Devil Within:

Off-Screen Leaked Footage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuAIs-9B-TM)

I could go on and on about why I've been anticipating this since 2011 and above of MGS V. But long story short is that Tango Gameworks doing this in mind as a "Pure Survival Horror" title under the direction of Shinji Mikami (which is said to be last project he well be doing as Director) is something that I can't ignore given how dead the horror genre has been since 2008 or even longer than that.

Hopefully the people at Tango can pull this off because this has the potential to be bigger and better than RE1, REmake and RE4.

Am I allowed to pick The Last of Us?  It's not technically out until after E3, right? ;)

Seriously, though, the big news from this E3 was obviously the new consoles, but I wasn't super-impressed by any of the games.  I guess the one that stands out most for me was FFXV, but I think that's just because I was so shocked to see the game actually running after all these years.  Still have no idea how it will really play.

Game of the show for me was Destiny. I've been making fun of it since they announced the title, simply because they didn't give any information about it whatsoever other than it was being made by the makers of Halo and published by the makers of Call of Duty.

I still think that was a stupid, stupid move on their part, but I'm willing to admit that the game not only looks good, but it looks amazing. I think this is finally an MMOFPS that I can really get behind. It just looks fantastic.

It's a tossup between smash wii u, the order, and destiny. Smash has Megaman....big HOOGE points for that, the order looks pretty intriguing from an observational standpoint, and destiny looks like borderlands meets halo with WoW in the mix. I'm pleasantly surprised by it overall, even if it's being published by my archnemesis activision.

Call of Duty with traversal and mechs? Looks alright, but Destiny seems more ambitious.

The lack of a single-player turns me off of Titanfall.  It looks neat, and the giant robots and explosions sure were cool giant robots and explosions, but I value a single-player experience in my games, with multiplayer only if I really want more.  I totally get that I'm not Titanfall's target audience, but there ya go.

I think both look nice, and with X next year looks amazing for sci fi games regardless.

I actually missed out on the destiny reveal. I'll have to catch up on E3 news this week.

Of the Mechy games, I think "X" looks better than Titanfall. That and Destiny are the two I'm most looking forward to, I really want Bungie to pull this off and it to be as good as it looks. As for FFXV... I still need to finish XIII and XIII-2. Not sure if not being interested in KH3 makes me a traitor or not, but I've tried several KH games and just couldn't get in to them. i can not feel like I'm on an epic quest with Donald Duck. It does not work for me.

Completely agree.  Borderlands just didn't interest me, but something about this makes me want to try it.

This as long as you play multiplayer. It's not a requirement, but it's like eating a bowl of cereal without the milk. Some people are lactose intolerant, others just prefer the cereal naked....but cmon.

That's right, just ask anybody who was waiting for Aliens: Colonial Marines. :V

Anyways, my thoughts on game of the year is probably either going to go to MGSV or SSB4.

Now X looked fantastic, but between the trailer focusing mostly on the mechs dolls plus some of the environments beyond that one huge plain/badlands and that the previous trailer in January showed more of the gameplay and plot hints than the one we got here, I feel that all I got out of it was a nice trailer to whet my beak and not much else.

Meanwhile, D4 was the most interesting reveal of the show to me but all I can really say on it is that its a Swery65 directed murder mystery. Now whether D4 was heavily influenced by David Lynch like Deadly Premonition was or if its more along the lines of something like Spyfiction, we wont know until more information comes along.

Now a lot of games promised open world exploration this year, but I suspect that some of these claims will either eventually fall through or have a very "narrow" view of "open world". However, MGSV seems like a game that'll not only deliver on that claim, but that between Ground Zeros and The Phantom Pain, there'll be an element of time skipping which is a narrative technique that typically results in a deeper and more rounded plot since the passage of time is applied to the proceedings and that writers can't just rely upon static cardboard cutouts when transitioning forces them to take a direction. But more importantly is that we got to see some tactical equestrian action and glimpses of the latest rogue gallery. I can't wait to see what kind of silliness comes from this game (like Chico graduating into Coward Duck or how many _____ crosses Ocelot ends up pulling or how much action will Huey see with his new robolegs).

As for SSB4? Come on, the WiiFit Trainer Lady reveal was great way to end the conference portions of E3 (and a hell of a :master: on the gaming media commentators spewing doom and gloom for Nintendo's prospects and/or outright writing them off during their "coverage"). Also nice to see that Capcom's Top Men found something to do with Classic Mega Man that isn't a cheap cash in or terrible iOS port (even if there's that MM2 love once again; at least there's coverage from at least the first 8 MM games).

So some (mostly plausible) things I wanted to see this year but didn't.
SMTxFE gameplay, Dark Cloud 3 announcement, Drakengard 3 localization, FFt-0 port announcement, Tits 2, maybe something new about that Monolith 3DS game, a finalized name for X and new details about it instead of just gameplay, Crimson Dragon not being xbone exclusive.

What I'm most interested in, based on this year's E3 coverage, are Transistor, Blackguards, and Deus Ex: The Fall.  Transistor, especially.

Agreed on Transistor. That looks great. Not much else I'm all that excited about yet. Interested in Lords of Shadow 2, FFXV, Witcher 3, Beyond: Two Souls, and the DLC for TWD. I'm most excited right now for the game that just came out, The Last of Us.
