I also started Timespinner, and must give a shoutout to [member=5364]divingfalcons[/member] for bringing attention to the game, which has definitely been an enjoyable Metroidvania.

Oh nice! Thank you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I think I like X-2 for the most part. I've played it twice, so I'm fairly happy with saying it has the best combat in the series and a really cool and unique job mechanic.

The After Years is...unnecessary, but I'm glad you liked it! FFIV falls just outside of my top 5, so maybe that's why I'm not so keen on The After Years. I totally get your criticisms of IV though, which is why, after playing nearly every other title, it slipped out of that ranking but I think it has its memorable bits. It's not aged particularly well either, compared to the other SNES contemporaries. Each to their own, and that's why listener comments are always welcome :D Thanks as always Arvis!

Fixed the mistake. Human error does happen, but thanks for noticing it so quickly! It was a genuine mistake.

I didn't want it on the poll because I thought far more deserving games were in contention. I do however believe we should cover KH at some point

Out of curiosity, is anyone here a Sonic fan? I picked up Sonic Mania because the buzz was unreal, and I am having an absolute blast with it. I'm on Zone 7, and it's a wonderful throwback to the 90s Genesis games with lots of new ideas and level designs mixed in. And the soundtrack is a dream. Makes Forces look even worse than it already looks like it will be.

Star Ocean should have ended after 3 really. I don't like 4, but it's much better than 5. Maybe it's because I actually paid full price for 5 and not 4.

Star Ocean shall remain in mobile game hell probably.

Thanks for the kind words and the feedback!

Also, thanks for reminding me of SO4's retarded final boss. What a fucking twat.

Oh lord. I can't even believe I mustered the patience to get to him.

I think X-2 just slipped under our radar when we were planning, unfortunately.

FFX-2 is a fun game to play, but everything else rubs me up the wrong way, but I completely agree that it's more enjoyable than a lot of other numbered entries. I'm glad the backlash has died down on it though, because it doesn't deserve it. Unfortunately, it's just not for me, and I still think it never needed to be made. I guess I was only comparing it to XIII-2 since they're both direct sequels, but of what I've played of it, I really didn't like it. Definitely my least favourite overall FF.

We tried to focus on numbered entries. And I'm equally surprised, but I've never played Tactics shamefully, so I couldn't include it or talk about it in my preliminary list. And you're right, we completely forgot X-2.

I get your justification for FXIV. At the moment, keeping up with everything is really difficult, because having a full time job, writing for the site, seeing friends, having a life, is really difficult. But the friends I've made on it, and the sheer amount of hours I've put in (Probably well over 200 since I started in September 2016) has made the subscription worth it...she says, as she's about to unsubscribe for a few months.

I don't enjoy X-2 for the record. Great battle system, and a really neat twist on the job system, but there's literally no need for the game to exist. I feel the same about XIII-2 and Lightning Returns though, so that might count me out of the debate (but in those cases there's literally nothing I like outside of the music)

I've never played a Drakengard game. I only played the first NieR last year. They're not essential at all. Playing NieR would make you appreciate the cameos, but if you want to play both, I'd imagine that would flesh out the lore.

I think I prefer the characters in the first NieR, but this game is pretty fantastic in every other aspect. I planning to have a review up in the next week or so, so check that out.

You're not missing out on much, besides a really good battle system.

I liked SO3. The plot twist isn't as abysmal as everyone makes it out to be, but god some of the characters are awful, and it does look a little dated. It was fun, if exploitable.

Where's my SO2 port, though?

Downloading this now.

Expect a second review in the coming weeks :)

I was evidently doing something very wrong. I was in the high 50s and had the best equipment, including the Ultimate Weapon.

Regarding Chapter 9
How long did that fight take you guys? I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought it was a mess. I think I was hacking away for 20 minutes maybe? There was no strategy at all.

I promise I like this game a lot. I swear. It's just seeing people who have the same hang ups is really making me reevaluate things.
