Fairy Gone looks like it could be very good. Its got the Grimgar LN author behind the scripts and (K)now Name doing the soundtrack.

The final eps of Run w/ the Wind has been sports anime perfection.  sadly it ends tomorrow :(. But its a wonderful anime, as good or better than Chihayafuru my all time fav sports anime. why is no one watching this???

its going to be rough holding out for the next season of The Promised neverland. Tho I might not bother, its a Kodansha anime, so this is probably the only season.

I spunked for netflix last month. So saw a few things there. Blame was excellent. Knights of sedonia seems decent enough. Same for Dragon prince. I couldn't get into Dragon Pilot (only saw 1.5 eps, does it get better?).

Still playing VC4. Up to chapter 9 now. I bought the Squad 7 DLC which gives you a decent mission and all the main VC1 characters. All are a bit overpowered so I don't use them, except for Welkin's tank because that transport is useless and scouts travel further on foot.

The Squad stories are a nice touch and thankfully easy to unlock.

The maps/game boards have been a decent upgrade over VC1. I haven't experienced a level as intense as VC1's Chapter 6 tho.

Not a big fan of the grading system, which takes out some of the strategy for speed.
Funny thing, the transport is possibly one of the most broken things in the game and is the key to 1-turning a few maps (including the hardest skirmish map). The map might change the best way to use it, but I recall that I would generally put a Shocktroop, Lancer, and a Scout or Engineer in it (forgot if 3 is default or the first capacity upgrade). The secret to maximizing the Transport is to pick up all the units on its turn (depending on the map you can get usually get one or two units without even moving) and then move it towards your goal. Whenever you stop near something you want to kill, have a Shocktroop or Lancer get out based on what you want to kill, kill it, and then have them return to the transport on the same movement point. If the transport gets damaged, just pop out the engineer and heal it before popping right back in.

It is a lot more efficient for getting both Shocktroops and Lancers to places than any other method except for pairing up with a Scout (and I don't remember if you have that yet), but the transport is more defensive than pairing up. Also you can use the transport to pick up a scout to give them a running start allowing them to basically cross the entire field before their movement is completely ruined.

Probably using it wrong then and maybe if I have to grind a bit I'll use it. The gameplay is so fun tho that I'm not really into 1-2 turning levels.

Went to see Alita: Battle Angel this weekend. Yes, there are mixed reviews and that's because the script and dialogue is an insult to all the hardworking teenage fanfiction writers out there. However the CGI world that was created and the fights were so well done and believable looking (Marvel/Star Wars take note) that it transformed what should have been a bad movie into a really fun one. I would watch the sequel which is sadly probably not going to happen.

I've played 4 chapters of Valkyria Chronicles 4 and its good, very good. Gameplay is yes VC1 w/ a new character class and you already knew that. This is fine, in fact its better than fine because VC1 is on my shortlist for all time favorite combat systems and its been way too long of a wait to play it again.

The new class is Grendiders. They seem to either napalm the entire map clean of enemies in 1-2 turns or are totally useless depending on the mission.

As far as the story goes, its decent, but the story and characters aren't anywhere as well done as VC1 (VC1 is a tough act to follow in that dept - in fact pretty much everything about VC1 is a tough act to follow, its IMO the best game of the PS3 gen). I was worried that it was going to be all angst and raeg looking at screenshots but so far its just tropey anime stuff, passibly done.

The graphics - WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT USING THIS ART STYLE IN OTHER GAMES, to my knowledge there is this, and uh Grimgar, which come on isn't even a game (or is it??????)

Music - decent enough.

But yea, buy it, because I'd like to see VC3 remade someday.

Running through Full Metal Alchemist again.  Still 10/10. Though I've come to the point in my life where shows like this are about as violent as I can handle.  I just don't have the stomach for things like Attack on Titan anymore.

Ironically I thought the 1st FMA had more stomach churning moments than AoT. Kaneberi is just a Sawano music video (albeit an excellent music video).

Still watching Run w/ the Wind which is already god-tier sports anime and every bit as good as Chihayafuru and Haikyuu.

Got around to watching RE: Creators, which while defo not perfect, its very enjoyable.

A Place further than the universe: yes its fine and well made, but I dunno why it keeps popping up as No.1 on the best anime of 2018 lists. I mean the whole girls doing things in a genre I like but I found animes like Sakura Quest and Sound Eupho to be much more superior.

NIS supposedly has the contact to publish Falcom games here in the west so yea it was always going to be them. My theory (guess) to have what went on was CS3 was supposedly going to be released this spring (I mean why wouldn't it, its been out in Jpn for almost 18 months now). Then Ys8's turd translation dropped, Falcom was none too happy, saw the ongoing translation they were doing for CS3 and forced NIS to get their act together and start from scratch. And w/o a game to release in spring 2019 they announced a CS1-2 re-release.

Finished Torna and clocked in about 45 hours.  9/10. The story is very good (you could play either game first - though you might not understand what happened at the ending of Torna until you play XBC2 1st - ending was very well done tho). Plus that final boss fight (while not that hard, I did a ton of quests) was extremely fun. It has the best battle system of all the Xeno games. Only problems being the quests didn't have voice acting

More JPRGs these days need to clock in at the 30-50 hour mark. I think some games needlessly stretch their games out I guess to supposedly get your monies worth (Tales games especially and to a lesser extent FF does too).  If you dont have 80 hours of story to tell, don't make a game 80 hours long.

I can't decide if I really like Golden Kamuy. I'm sick of all the food porn, I'm sick of the comic relief character (why won't they kill him), plus the CGI sucks but I can live w/ that. On the other hand the action scenes are really freaking great and it has a really charismatic and fun villian.

about 10hrs in and damn Torna is good. Its a shame I already know the ending. In fact play Torna 1st. And even if you no desire to play XBC2 play Torna anyway. Its worth it. The battle system is easier to understand and by playing Torna 1st you wont get the what's shaping up to be a better story spoiled.

So apparently, in true Smash Bros fashion, Mythra's Spirit got pretty heavily censored. She now looks like this:

The reason why this is significant is because Monolithsoft are made of cool dudes who have turned around and are implementing this as a free costume for XBC2 players. Of course, its an Aux Core like the other costumes, but this one in particular also comes with a +25% Crit rate increase (to again match SSBU's treatment of the character).

This is how she looks in Torna.

Been busy running about 10-15hrs a week but found time to finish XBC2. I've always said that anytime you play a Takahashi game its at least (for me) a 9/10. XBC2 is no different. Sure it has its hiccups (that map) but the battle system once it gets going past say Chapter 5 is really shines. The story is far from flawless but definitely has it moments. The game world while lacking the secret areas that XBCX had is fun to explore and maybe? overall bigger than XBCX. I dunno how the heck they made a game this huge in such short time. 130hrs logged in, I completed I guess close to about 60% of quests.

KOS-MOS built up and stuck on an ether user really obliaterates everything in a chain attack.  Favorite rare blades I got: KOS-MOS, Ageon (the only blade to get me out of the nightmare battles), Cossette (best healer), Percival (great tank/attack hybrid).

I was going to wait on Torna but started it up for an hour. It sure doesn't look like a cheap cash in. The graphics are even improved. Tweaked battle system (its good!) and the MC looks to be an excellent one.

The best news I got this season was that Chihayafuru 3 is coming in the spring. Now just give me Grimgar S2 plz!!

Run w/ the Wind has been very good.

I might have to start watching Slime Iseaki.
