Hi! I am following up on this thread. I still have a spot open for the Bastion game club discussion. Please let me know if you or someone you know would be interested. Thanks.

So I went on a bit of a shopping spree yesterday and picked this up alongside other PS4 games like Horizon and Berseria.

Anyways, I'm currently doofing around in Elinee's Castle (or I was until the game crashed). Impressions so far include feeling that the redux tracks are rather hit and miss (the track that plays during the point where the people of Potos tells you to scram was overdone and has some mood dissonance now that it didn't have before; whereas the track that plays when the Elder tells Randi about his Randi's Mom enjoys a nice aural background to go with it), but thankfully you can also switch between the two tracks at flick of a switch.

As for those of you who are worried about facing Spikey Tiger again, fear not. The game now has an Easy Mode (well, its less of a mode, so much as its an option to allow you to carry more items (up to 12).

Everything else is pretty faithful for the most part so far. Though perhaps some of the dialog is perhaps a bit too faithful. What changes I have seen have actually helped though since the dialogue involving Dyluck, Primm and her father makes their situation a little bit clearer. On that note, the alternate route is intact.

And for Easter Eggs, I've been spotting pictures of AoM characters like the MC, Bogard and Maurice scattered about.

I have been hearing mixed feelings about it. I have never played the original and it sounds like I might just sit tight and wait for a sale later this year. My backlog is my main focus this year and if I pick this up for my Vita this fall, no sweat. It is a bummer to hear the OG fans of the game are disappointed with a lot of the game. Can't win them all I guess.

I know I am late to the hype, but MAN am I pumped. Also, thank god it is coming to Xbox One. SEGA really came through for me on this one.
Actually, you should be thanking the Suits at SEGA who made the decision to port the game to the XBox One.  Deities had nothing to do with that very surprising decision.  Clearly they didn't have the Japanese market in mind when they made the decision to release this game on that console considering the XBox One was an utter failure in Japan.

I still find it surprising that they are putting it out on the XBox One, though.  Seriously, I can't imagine gamers purchasing the console so they can play the latest and greatest Japanese developed RPG's.  I see the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch being the primary homes for such games.  Still, I do hope it does well on the console because if it doesn't then other game publishers from Japan will take  its performance commercially into account when deciding whether or not to port to the XBox One.

Yeah, I am interested to see on my friends list how many people will actually be playing VC4 on Xbox when its released. The install base in the states is big enough to send ports to I think at this point. But that was really only the case for the last 2 years. I see why they wouldn't mess with ports on Xbox around 2013-2016. There just wasn't enough out there and the fan base isn't that interested overall in JRPGs. Weirdos like me though will snatch up JRPGs like hotcakes when they get released on that platform.

Hello everyone,

I am needing help with an episode of my podcast in the next few weeks on the topic of Bastion. I do a monthly game club podcast and this year I am trying to have different guests come on every month and talk about the game we all just played. We went a ways back into my backlog this time around and I finally managed to beat Bastion. I have reached out to Twitter but have not gotten a response. Would anyone be interested in jumping on a Skype call with me to talk about the game for 30 to 45 minutes in the next few weeks? I would like to post it mid March if possible.

Let me know, thanks.

for an example of what I am talking about, check out our game club episode for Jan 2018 below.
