General Discussions / Question about licensing
« on: September 19, 2011, 07:59:38 PM »
Not sure if this is the place to put it, or if it's really an issue of licensing, but I was thinking about something while reading about DCU Online. So I know it's a Sony game, and that they'd want to keep it on their console, but there is the PC to worry about and obviously the greatest userbase is on the Windows platform, which is Microsoft. What then, would keep them from also putting it out on the Xbox 360 since they're already publishing the game on a Microsoft platform? I feel like this is something that could and probably has cropped up before since you really have no choice but to deal with Microsoft when putting anything out on the PC.

The Bazaar / Old Fantasy Books
« on: August 16, 2011, 12:08:12 PM »
Trying to get rid of some old stuff that I'm just not gonna touch anymore. I've got some old series that maybe someone would be interested in. Nothing really extravagant, but they're fairly popular and may be good for younger folks. All paperback unless otherwise stated. Anyway:

The core Dragonlance books (mostly Weis and Hickman) from the first trilogy until War of the Souls. The last two War of Souls books are hardcover. Condition ranges from really bad (first book in first trilogy) to very good (both hardcovers). If interested in any will let you know the exact condition of the book and should be able to provide pics if you'd like to see).

Icewind Dale Trilogy. Full trilogy in a hardcover edition. Pretty nice edition. Very good condition.

First two Dark Elf books from Forgotten Realms. Both in okay condition.

Also have the Mag-Force 7 trilogy from Weis and Perrin. First one is in heavily used condition, but the other two are in great condition.

First two Otherland Books from Tad Williams. Both in good condition.

First four Harry Potter books. All hardcover. All in very good condition (some edge wear on top and bottom of spines from sitting on a shelf).

Not sure who'd be interested in any of these, but just throwing them out there. Send a PM with an offer on price. Would probably give up a lot of these cheap, they're not exactly hard to find books. Shipping I figure would range from 4-8 bucks depending on amount of books, but I will gladly go to post office to get more exact figure for anyone interested.

The Helper Monkey / Fallout 3 GOTY Edition
« on: June 19, 2011, 12:02:02 PM »
Question, The DLC that comes in this edition, does it have to be installed to be played, or can it be played off the disc? I have the 4GB 360 and I want to get Fallout 3 but if I have to install DLC it probably wont make sense to get the GOTY edition.

I don't know whether or not anyone else here has heard about this nonsense, but some weeks ago a flash mob went and did their thing at Jefferson Memorial and (although I don't know the exact situation) some ruling was made that banned dancing at the memorial after that because it caused a huge disturbance. So a week or two later some guys when and danced in protest of the ruling and they all got arrested. There's another video for that as well. So now, this past weekend, a bigger mob showed up in protest and this is one video of that.

I have to say...these guys are idiots. I especially love the guy who was shouting that nonsense about taking the government down when I'm sure none of these idiots would actually show up in protest of some shit that actually mattered.

Brush and Quill / Some writing
« on: March 02, 2011, 08:26:33 PM »
These are first drafts of 2 short storiesI've written. I've been working on putting together a collection but that will take some time and I'm hoping to submit some stuff to some lit mags and journals and am trying to get some feedback from people anywhere I can get, even if it amounts to nothing more than, "It's a pile of shit." Like I said, they are first drafts and I know they are rife with errors I just need to get a bit more space between them before I can properly edit. Anyway, if anyone's willing to read them, here they are. They're both 19 double-spaced pages.

The Bazaar / Looking for PSOne Memcard
« on: December 29, 2010, 11:35:28 AM »
So while I didn't get the Xbox360 I was hoping for, my cousin gave me his old PS2 since he wasn't using it anymore.  I have a bunch of old Playstation games I'm hoping to sit down and play now but I have no PS mem card.  I'm hoping someone here has an old one lying around they'd be willing to shoot my way for maybe $5.  Figure I'd ask here before I have to scour ebay and the like for this ancient piece of technology.
