It started like a day or two ago and they're unrelated to the sidebar ads. Any idea what's up?

WHAT IS THIS?:

Nanatsu Kaze... is sidescrolling adventure game made by Enix back in the 90s and released for the Saturn. It has bug catching and fishing in it. The character design in the game is /completely normal/.

Honestly I don't know much about it, although it's supposed to be a spiritual successor to Wonder Project J I guess?

Posting this as PDFs for now. I'll try to post the stuff in the thread itself later.

Stuff in bold is my attempt at translating. Please note that I have no idea what I'm doing.

Also I do own a legits copy of the game.

Single-Player RPGs / UnReal World is now freeware.

Classic survival roguelike from a million years ago is currently freeware. May revert back to a pay version at some point in the future, but hey, definitely something I'd recommend checking out.

SORT OF similar to Minecraft, although it predates it by about a decade.

General Discussions / Stupid childhood misconceptions.
« on: June 07, 2011, 01:28:45 PM »
What are some of your stupid childhood misconceptions about anything?

- I used to think that Africanized Bees were African Ice Bees*. African Ice Bees sounds better tho.

- I used to think (when I was like, three or five) that concentration camps in WW2 involve like, deadly games of simon says, where you'd get shot to death if you didn't essentially do what simon said, ergo you had to concentrate a lot, ergo the name. I think this misconception is possibly the result of my mom telling me stupid shit tho I'm thinking something like this actually happened during various 90s genocides in Africa?

General Discussions / Hallucinations.

Let's discuss weird childhood hallucinations/ghost experiences/etc because I find that kind of thing really fascinating.

So I got this recurring one a lot. If I was looking at somewhere where I'd EXPECT to see people, for a split second, I'd tend to see them. This was usually when I walked by the computer room in my house. I'd see someone sitting in the chair (usually a middle-aged woman that looked like nobody I knew, which was weird). Anyway I think I remember reading about the psychological reasons this happens but I forgot what they were.

What brings this back up is that, while I haven't really had it happen in YEARS, about a week or two ago I'm walking back from the Kroger's by my apartment, and I see this guy sitting outside the bar that's between Kroger's and Subway*. I blink and he's gone.

USUALLY there are people sitting out there so my mind just like, constructed this false image. It was pretty jarring for a second. Also I think the guy I thought I see might've been real, the place has some regulars, but whatever.

... Though looking back I remember encountering a guy outside of a Toys R Us once, who was acting really odd but sort of looked like my next door neighbor. This was when I was in highschool. What's weird is that he started talking to me but he'd only say thing like "ugh." I figured he was just a bum and went inside cause, you know, don't talk to random hobos at night.

I'm not entirely sure that incident was real though.

* I live in the classiest fucking place, shut up.

General Discussions / Job thread.

So what do you guys do for work? Do you guys even work? I sort of have this fantastic vision of most of the RPGFan regulars living in immense crystal towers somewhere, surviving off their family's ancient money gained during the Crusades.

Or something.

I worked as a janitor for the last three years. I also worked a a tutor prior to that. This summer custodial work was actually pretty cool. The custodial staff in my old highschool are fun and endearing people, unlike the people in the building I worked at prior to that, who were complete sociopaths. Anyway, currently not working because i am getting schooled. Also attending classes.
