General Games / Jax & Daxter VS Sly Cooper
« on: April 14, 2014, 04:18:01 PM »
Been craving something new to play after recently finishing Infamous: SS, Castlevania LoS2, and South Park so I looked around and saw both Jax & Daxter and Sly Cooper both have anniversary editions with multiple titles in them.  I don't know much about either of them outside of some youtube videos and the fact that they were PS2 platformer games.  Soooo... questions!

-Should I start with the collections and move onto recent titles later or start with the newer and go older? Not sure if Jax and Daxter have a new ps3 game out or not so this might only apply to Sly Cooper.

-Any particular games within the collection I should avoid?

-I'm not necessarily opposed to getting both, but if you personally could only pick one to play between J&D and Sly, which one would you choose and why?

General Games / Street Fighter X Tekken

So, game comes out this week.  Anyone picking it up?

Also an interesting story has broke out as of this post, someone found 12 DLC characters that Capcom locked on the disk.  They seem pretty much finished gameplay wise, but some may be missing an opening/ending slideshow (no animated endings).  What makes it interesting is that Capcom has pretty much said in past interviews that the rumored 12 characters, which some thought might be Vita exclusives, weren't ready for primetime and how Blanka was still a work in progress because of his gameplay style conflicting with the rushdown orient of the game.  The videos showing off these characters pretty much conflict those statements - go figure.

Anyone else interested in this game at all?

It's being published by Atlus for $50 dollars. It seems to have a decent story mode for a fighting game (looks similar to Blazblue) and the tutorial looks pretty good.  I think most people here are pissed off at Capcom so this might be a good alternative.  They are rebalancing the characters for the home release so some of the really powerful arcade characters are getting toned down which will hopefully give the rest of the cast some room to shine.

Gamer Informer has a video preview of the game here:

edit:  Holy crap, there's a custom color mode to customize the color of your characters (similar to Capcom vs SNK2)
