General Games / God of War 2018
« on: April 27, 2018, 09:34:17 AM »
Holy hell this game is astoundingly pretty. Like amazingly so. Also it's really a great game overall. They make Kratos seem so much more fleshed out as a character. Also should mention it's pretty heavy on rpg elements, but I put it here since Zno onr thinks of rpgs when they see God of War.

Anyone playing this besides me?

Being that I have an actual team made now and the event is about a month out, with donation deadlines in 2 weeks, I'm gonna put my team's link here which should direct anyone to the details of what it is and what it's about.

The rest of my guys should register by the today or tomorrow (I hope). If anyone wants to donate, that's fucking awesome and I will love you forever for it, but even words of well wishing or inspiration are fully appreciated and awesome of you guys. Thanks in advance.

General Games / Horizon: Zero Dawn
« on: March 01, 2017, 08:47:21 AM »
Horizon is out, I bought it, and it definitely deserves a topic here. I'm seriously early in it but so far it's astoundingly impressive visually. Gameplay wise, it's pretty fun so far. Reminds me of the last of us meets with questing added and level ups and equipment modding. It's early so I'm not gonna sing praises of it being the greatest game ever or anything,  but I'm definitely eager to see how much more it has to offer

Not sure how I really feel about this, but I think it at least deserves its own topic in the multiplayer section. Thoughts, opinions, jokes? Please do share.

Also, strongly hope bro mode can be initiated in multiplayer (fist bumps after excessively cool combos).

Single-Player RPGs / Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

2 days away, my collector's edition is scheduled for drop off at some time tuesday afternoon. Anyone else incredibly excited for this title?

So anyone playing this aside from me? It's not bad so far, VERY VERY VERY Chrono Trigger-y, which is cool and bad at the same time. I mean, Chrono Trigger is great...but it's 2016 and I still can't line up my attacks because "hurr chrono trugger mechanics"? That aside, music is very simple so far, but pleasant for sure, and the story is pretty atm.

But....why does no one have feet?

General Games / Pokemon Go

So far, 1 major traffic accident, 1 dead body, and several casual accidents of people walking into stationary objects and other people....

Who else is still thoroughly enjoying walking around and pretending they are a pokemon trainer?

Ok, so normally it's the other way around, but I'm trying to buy my buddy in emgland a year sub to ps plus. Thing Anyone able to help me out? Idc if it's a card or a digital code, just something please, and fast too. I'd like it before this saturday.

General Games / Ratchet and Clank 2016
« on: April 14, 2016, 09:37:44 AM »
So I've been a major fan of this series since probably 2003 or 2004, and aside from Into the Nexus which I didn't play, Full Frontal Assault which was a tower defense variant, and All 4 One which is just fuck horrible, I've played beaten and loved all of em. Bought this new one launch day and MY GOD IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!!

Seriously, it's the best looking game I've ever seen in terms of not actually looking like a video game. This whole game screams dreamworks movie or pixar flick. Beyond that, it's just a great game, it handles super smoothly and plays like the best in the series. They've even streamlined the control scheme to further optimize it for new people, though I'm a little upset they removed the crouch feature for wrench tossing and high jumping. In a single level I was back to strafe jumping and aerial dodging like a champ, which is also funny because the A.I. seems to have improved as well. The basic flip around and fire like mad doesn't work so well anymore, as enemies will fire where you're landing and they move slightly more than they used to. Still it adds to the game rather than taking away as one of the biggest flaws of the series is how easy it could be, and I feel rewarded for killing large groups of enemies and performing those death-defying aerial maneuvers. Not as fond of the Clank segments, as they're pretty much just puzzle solving and most of it is throw a gadgetbot of the appropriate variety at the offending puzzle. Sadly they'll never top the time puzzles in a Crack in Time, but thankfully the banter at some of them do make the puzzles less boring. My biggest complaint right now is the character Cora's voice actress, Bella Thorne. She sounds horrible and has no purpose being in the game alongside such great VAs as Rosario Dawson, John Goodman, Paul Giamatti, and of course James Arnold Taylor and Jim Ward (Ratchet and Clank respectively). Honestly, if you have a ps4, you should buy this game, ESPECIALLY because it's only 40 bucks. It's astounding and a great return to a beautiful franchise.

Multiplayer RPGs / Tom Clancy's The Division
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:29:14 PM »
In the ongoing hybridization of genres in today's video game market, we have The Division...a 3rd person shooter/morpg. Unlike Destiny, which this game feels and appears on the surface VERY similar to, The Division embraces its rpg aspects, aiming for gear hunting and dungeon crawling and making sure we know about it. Not gonna make some bullshit review or anything here about it,but I do want to see who's interested and at least get it on some people's radars otherwise.

So yeah, bought this gem yesterday. Pretty fun, aside from finally realizing how fucking god awful most people are at zelda games. Seriously, I can't believe how stupid some people are at this game. And the fact that it DEMANDS teamwork...i seriously died in the first area like 6 times because you share a lifebar and people just suck. They swing at the electric eel enemies, they walk off ledges and cliffs, they stand in front of spear throwing enemies on cliffs and wonder why they get hit and can't hit back... it's mind numbing. And before anyone defends these people with "oh cmon, you probably played with a little kid", I was playing at 3am. So unless parents are that horrible, no kid under the age of 14 across the US was still awake...and I doubt japanese kids would name themselves Kirito, Nick, James, or english. So yeah, someone here PLEASE tell me you own this and wish to play...I'm dying here.

Btw, the game itself is very fun. Screams oldschool zelda, but with the added effect of cooperative play ( I did have one good group thankfully). When you work together well, it's a blast watching it all come together.

The Helper Monkey / Psn hacking prevention.
« on: April 02, 2015, 08:11:26 PM »
So I just mentioned it in the haps thread, but I'll put it here for some actual assistance. Anyone have any input regarding hacking prevention on PSN? I've changed passwords for both psn and my email associated with it as well as added two step verification to the email account, and I don't have any stupid friend requests sitting idle, but if anyone has any secondary ideas I could use....

I really don't wanna lose this bet.
