So I am considering selling off my 3DS, since its hard to afford games on it, my ps4, and my PC.  I own the Monster Hunter 4 special edition, and im curious about a couple things and I couldn't find info I could understand online (I didn't look super hard but still). First off, once I unlink it to my account, can the system still download the MH4 game?  Also, since I am not doing a system transfer, will I lose everything connected to my current nintendo ID, should I decide to rebuy one later?  Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if its just links to obvious places im to blind to find.  Thanks guys!

Multiplayer RPGs / Planetside 2

So ive been playing this the past week or so, and I gotta say, this is the most fun ive had playing a Online FPS since Battlefield 2142.  I was timid about trying it, since its F2P, but honestly I feel so far that my gear really isnt much of a big disadvantage to the stuff people can buy.  The maps are huge, and I love the constant back and forth, even when your not playing.  Earlier today we  attempted to take some outlying bases until we drew the enemy factions attention, so we gathered up 2 large carrier vtols, 2 gunships, and 3 fighters, and just the feeling of flying in formation with a whole platoon (4 squads in a platoon, 12 in each squad, we had about half full) was an epic feeling.  It can be a bit of a bummer to trek across the landscape at times, but after I got my bearings with the game, I found myself able to jump into hot spots easier.

Definitely need to be a team player in this game, going solo is just boring and useless.  You will die alot though, just a side effect of the massive combat.  I have never felt to cheaply killed (except one hacker/glitcher, not sure which exactly, but he was the first in over 15 hours of gameplay.)  Anyhow, was curious if anyone else was playing this.  I know that was probably a bit of a disjointed summary, sorry about that.  Cheers!

The Helper Monkey / PSVita or 3DS
« on: June 27, 2012, 03:18:16 AM »
I know this is a really loaded question, but id like to hear from anyone who reads this their opinions on which system they have, what they like about it.  Id also like to hear anyone's opinions, or links to opinions, on the future of each console.  Right now the 3DS seems to have better support, although I realize its been out for around a year longer than the Vita.  I do like how powerful the Vita is, as well as the backlog of PSP rpgs, along with the second analog stick.  I just don't know how much faith I have in its future, with companies whose games I really enjoy like atlus seeming to prefer the 3DS right now due to the higher adoption rate.  I could be wrong on some of this stuff, and so its one reason why im asking.  So again, any input here would be greatly appreciated.  I realize one can only speculate so much, so im just looking for something to make my decision a little bit easier.  Also, just to point out, I currently own a PS3 and a PC, so I only want one more gaming platform, as I do not want to feel overwhelmed by the amount of games in my backlog, but I enjoy having a portable console.  I also realize that in the end it comes down to the games, but that is where i'm not sure of yet.  I have also had a PSP and DS, but want to upgrade to either the 3ds or PS Vita, since ive played most of the games on those two systems that I want to (though there are some PSP games I missed out on.)  Thank you for looking, and hopefully this is not to irritating of a topic.

The Helper Monkey / PS3 Lag Issues
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:19:27 AM »
So I posted this on the official PS forums but no response yet, wanna hear what you guys think.

Hey there everyone, im starting to get very worried.  I have an around 1 year old PS3 160gb Slim system.  I would say since middle of december my system has been acting strange.  Games seem to take awhile to start up, pretty much any demo I download and install will lag, when no one else I know has a problem with the Demo, Netflix takes longer to load up.  I have rebuilt the database, restored the file system, and it seems to have helped slightly.  Also 3/4 times I use my ps3 controller to turn on my system, I have to connect the controller to the USB cable becuase all 4 red lights blink, and it will not recognize the controller until I do that.  Once I do that, I can unplug it and it works fine.
Most recent example is just now, I downloaded and installed the Darkness 2 demo.  As soon as I started it up, every 5 seconds or so it lags for just a second.  Same thing happened with Kingdoms of Amalurs beginning cutscene, I started it up, stuttered like mad, paused it, decided to look up on the net if everyone had this issue, went back to it, and it worked just fine.  I would assume if anything the HDD is going bad, but I want to make sure before I start looking for something new.  Should I try a format?  Id rather not lose my saves, and I don't have a thumbdrive, though I can pick one up.  If I have to do this, is it simple to move save files onto it?
Hopefully someone can help me out here, thank you!

The Helper Monkey / Mass Effect 2 PS3 download problems
« on: December 12, 2011, 07:38:02 PM »
Ok so here is what is going on, I bought Mass Effect 2 over PSN, and have been trying to download it.  However for whatever reasons my internet at some point during the download causes PSN to have an error, and I have to start over from the beginning.  Now with most PC downloads you can have the download get interrupted and restart it from where it left off, but it seems the ps3 starts from the very beginning, and considering Mass Effect 2 is 12gb, thats kinda NOT working.  Any way to fix this?  Otherwise I guess I can just keep trying till the gods of technology deign to let it work.  As for my connection, its free throughout my building, never really have to many issues with it, I have a switch for my PC and my PS3, not a router, and its wired.

General Games / Keiji Inafune....King of Pirates!
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:48:17 PM »

So this looks..AWESOME!  I gotta say I am excited for this.  Says its a Pirate action adventure game, so I am curious to see how it turns out.  I almost get a sort of..zelda-esque vibe from the trailer, even though it didn't show any gameplay or anything, so thats pure conjecture from me.  Still I cannot wait!

The Bazaar / 3DS and PS3 games inside, Ebayed!
« on: July 16, 2011, 08:35:37 PM »
So the games will be up on ebay under my username serene_prophet later today.  I guess the ebay prices are a little lower than the amazon marketplace ones I was going off of, so I apologize about that.  Thanks for looking :)

For reference the games are Tales of the Abyss 3DS, Rune Factory 4 3DS, Tales of Xillia LE and Bravely Default CE.  :)

So, Bioware is doing something a little special for us Dragon Age II buyers.  Until April 30th, you may go to, and either buy Dragon Age II, or if you have purchased it (New mind you, must have the online pass activated) you can get a code to download it for FREE!  It does not however come with the Cerberus Network pass, and you can only download it via EA Download Manager.

Thought you folks might wanna know.  Dunno If I myself will take advantage of it since my PC more than likely cannot run ME2 on any decent settings.  Though I may get it, just so its in my account so if I get a better PC later, maybe I can still download it.
