General Discussions / I need recommendations for Android RPG's.
« on: December 29, 2015, 02:58:32 PM »
I just got a Kindle Fire and need some recommendations for a good RPG, preferably dungeon crawler but it doesn't have to be. I've been looking around but haven't found what I'm looking for. I HATE on screen controls and my hands are kinda not good for those controls anyway, so I need a good RPG that you can just use the stylus. Thanks!

Multiplayer RPGs / Neverwinter for the consoles.

Anyone been playing this? I see there's a less than one page thread about the game already but the system suggested I start a new topic since it's really old. Anyway, I got it for the X Box One. A friend and I have been playing it every few days and are really liking it. Pretty deep and lengthy for a totally free game. At no point yet have we come to a point where we felt we needed to buy items with really money, and we're at level 33.

Multiplayer RPGs / Magicka 2 on PS4.
« on: May 31, 2015, 11:12:23 AM »
Just picked this up for the PS4. Love the way it plays, but man… even though it says it's for 1-4 players… going at it solo is just too hard for me. I have a friend that I game with online all the time, but he doesn't seem too keen on getting it. Wish there was a slightly easier mode so i could enjoy it. I love the spell system, even though it can become infusing. My favorite part os how light hearted it is. Love the colorful art style and especially the Monty Python/Discworld-like humor.

Anime, TV, and Movies / Futurama cancelled again!

Just saw it announced on Comedy Central's Facebook page. 13 eps this season then done. Sucks.

I can now stop using my WiiU just for watching podcasts on my TV now. lol

Multiplayer RPGs / Any PS Vita online co-op RPG's coming?
« on: March 18, 2013, 11:16:37 PM »
A friend and I are currently playing through Dungeon hunter: Alliance and having a blast with it. Yeah, it offers NOTHING innovative, but it is fun online. The Vita's party chat app is amazingly easy to use with games. makes you wonder why something similar wasn't done with the PS3. Anyway, I know Dragon's Crown is coming, and Soul Sacrifice. What we're looking for is a good 2 player online RPG where you get to play the whole campaign with another person. Not one that throws in lame online co-op extras. Also need one that doesn't punish you with abnormally hard enemies if you're only playing with 2 people and not 4. Are either of these games like that or are there any others ones already out or coming soon? Ruin was the first game that piqued my interest in a Vita, but apparently that isn't coming out in the U.S. Even good online-multiplayer co-op RPG's for the PS3 and 360 have dwindled to nothing. Ah well, the new Dead Island comes out in a month.

Single-Player RPGs / Persona 4 Golden for the Vita.
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:08:10 PM »
Been hearing nothing but good things about these games, decided to pick up this one for the Vita. I hope it's good... can't tell because for some damn reason when it asks in the beginning to type in your last name, it does nothing. Anyone run across this problem?

Single-Player RPGs / Paper Mario 3DS.

I forgot I pre-ordered this eons ago and just got an email from Amazon saying it will be here tomorrow. Anyone heard any buzz on the game yet? I see no reviews, even though it came out yesterday technically. The gameplay I saw on YouTube looked great. This style of game is about the only kind I can play anyomore when it comes to turn-based combat.

Anyone think that maybe the outlandish, 10-word titled games names is a reason people aren't paying attention to JRPG's anymore? I've noticed this with a few friends and family, and even tonight when my cousin saw me come to this site. With all of the crazy long-winded game names I've noticed people can't tell if they're new games, remakes, spinoffs, Japanese release only games, etc. Sure, to RPG aficionados it's easy to keep track of what's what, but the average RPG Joe is confused. Even me with my love for the Tales series... I don't know which ones are new or remakes or what until I spend some time reading up on them. Tales Of Makai Derfault Bravely: Dynasty Spear Version One Special doesn't roll off the tongue quite as easily as say, Borderlands 2 or Skyrim. lol

Single-Player RPGs / Dust: An Elysian Tale.
« on: August 24, 2012, 02:38:27 PM »
I searched and so no topic for this anywhere, so thought I'd start one. This came out a week or two for XBLA. I wasn't going to get it as I only heard bits and pieces of it here and there... but the last week or so some of my friends on Facebook were raving about it. The game reminds me of Odin Sphere a bit, also some Castlevania combat (though the combat is so so varied it's its own thing) and the little dragn companion reminds me of Lunar. It's a platformer action RPG and that in itself is rae. Gorgeous graphics and soundtrack as well.

General Discussions / Anyone here ever been "Fifa Hacked" On X Box Live?
« on: February 25, 2012, 11:19:48 AM »
I was a few days ago. Went online to play some Battlefield 3 with friends and a message popped up saying "This account was last logged into by another console". I thought little of it, thinking it was a random flub r something. After a few matches of BF3 I asked my friends if it popped up on their machines. They said no. I went to my dashboard to check things out... the 2,000 MS Points I had were dwindled to zero. Checked my game activity, it showed I had played Fifa 12 and got 3 achievements doing so. I don't care for sports and don't even own the game. I called XBL support and we found out I was indeed hacked and they used my points to purchase consumable Fifa crap they can trade to other people for money. they locked my account while they did an investigation. I called my credit card company and asked for the purchases on my card that day. Sure as hell, someone tried buying 1 20 dollar Fifa thing with my credit car and another 5 dollar one. I was lucky in that Microsoft flagged it for possible fraud. Anyway, I looked online and saw hundreds, if not thousands of people that had the same thing happen. Each and every time it was a Fifa game that was involved. Ot's either Microsoft' or EA's fault, I don't know which one. Maybe both. I never click random redirect crap on the net, never open emails I don't know where they came from, none of that. Believe it or not, I am a lucky one. Microsoft managed to complete my investigation and reinstate my account within a day, but I've heard it can take 3 days and some people over 5 months with no resolution. Some people get their entire profile and gamertag stolen and have it sold overseas, which is called a "migration'. Still others had their credit card info stolen like me, but the thiefs managed to buy hundreds of dollars of stuff, all Fifa game related. So, compared to those people, i was lucky. kotaku and some other 'zines have did articles on this problem, Kotaku saying the problem is getting more and mroe prevalent while EA and Microsoft try and downplay it. In some ways this is actually worse than the PS3 hack as people are directly ripping off customers. One woman who was Fifa hacked started an entire site dedicated to it. Anyway, just wanted to get that out there and see if anyone else had this happen or if they knew of anyone who had it happen.

Anime, TV, and Movies / The Borrowers Arriety.

This opened in the U.S. a few weeks ago. Anyone see this latest Ghibli movie? It has like a crazy 95% over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Single-Player RPGs / Dungeon Hunter Alliance (Vita's lone launch RPG).
« on: February 22, 2012, 11:58:58 PM »
Never played the mobile games, but this one is pretty darn good. It's not the most detailed Vita game I got (that honor goes to Uncharted and Rayman Origins), but the graphics are nice and crisp and from what I heard better than the Ipad versions. There's nothing unique about the gameplay, but it does what it does well, in a slightly Torchlight kind of way. I've had the system preordered since June of last year... didn't realize until I got all this today that the system uses gamecards. Kinda weird, but it works.

Single-Player RPGs / Tales Of Vesperia.
« on: December 15, 2011, 04:33:17 PM »
Couldn't find an old topic for this game... must be the board deletes threads after so long? Anyway, I'm a-hankerin' for some time well spent with a good JRPG. I bought the game for the 360 when it came out and played about half of it... LOVED it. Then like I tend to do, stopped playing because I bought new games. I probably stopped playing it a good 2 1/2 years ago. A year or so ago I popped it in again and stopped again because I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go or what I was supposed to do next. Any clues on how you can find your way back on track in this game? I literally remember little of what I played, so it's not like zI can look up a walkthrough and go from there.

Multiplayer RPGs / Crimson Alliance out today on XBLA.
« on: September 07, 2011, 08:45:07 AM »
Don't know why this game hasn't been talked about much, but it looks good and I've been keeping my eye on it for a while. Looks to be a cross between Torchlight and Diablo and has online co-op campaign, a rarity for console RPG's. There's 3 different character, but up to 4 can play online. Choose between a wizard (whose spells looked impressive from the gameplay I saw... spells flying EVERYWHERE), a mercenary or a assassin. What's unique about this XBLA title is you can either pay 800 points and choose to play the full game as one of the three characters or pay 1200 and et all 3. I'm downloading it right now and my buddy and I will play it a bit later. Will chime in and give additional thoughts later on. I've been downloading way more Arcade games than I thought I would when they fiirst announced it. And if you go look at the review sites, lately most of the games getting really high ratings are Arcade titles.
