General Discussions / Fumito Ueda has left Sony
« on: November 30, 2011, 12:34:54 PM »
Japanese video game development sources indicated the 41-year-old is working on finishing oft-delayed PlayStation 3 exclusive The Last Guardian in a freelance capacity.

Ueda's departure from Sony internal development studio Team Ico is one of the reasons for the game's protracted development, Eurogamer was told.

This is pretty shcking news for me if true. No wonder TLG is taking forever. Ueda is Team Ico so I guess this will be their last game.

Sony has confirmed that these gems are getting the HD treatment.

In case you haven't played them, these were some of the best games available on the PS2 and that's saying something.
Sony has been doing a great job with these remasters so I expect these to be on the same level as the GoW and Team ICO collections.
Who knows? Good sales might convince them to create Jack 4.
All of sony's collections so far had or have a sequel on the way (GoW3, Sly 4. The Last Guardian), this might allow them to see if there's a market for it.

General Discussions / Steam was hacked...
« on: November 10, 2011, 05:59:34 PM »
Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users,

Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.

We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.

We don't have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.

While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.

We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.

We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.

I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

CC info is encrypted. For now Valve seems to be dealing with this with a lot more class than a certain other company.
But yeah, not even the almighty Valve is safe.

Capcom released a huge new trailer which reveals raid mode, introduces new characters and enemies and explains how the game uses the 3DS' features:

New characters are retarded, let's hope they die quick.
Fortunately Jill's hottness makes up for it.

I don't have a 360 (let alone kinect) but since this is basically a new Panzer Dragoon I think it deserves a thread.

This is old but I only found it today and thought I'd share it with you because it contains interviews with Yukio Futatsugi for each game in the franchise (and Takayuki Kawagoe for Orta):

It's a fantastic cover story of the franchise and a great read for PD fans. If anyone here buys the game please share your thoughts on how it compares to the previous games and if it still manages to capture that unique atmosphere the franchise is known for.

First 16 minutes direct feed footage (shows character creation, first town and combat):

Looks promising, they might have something here.

Sad but true.
Read it guys, it's worth it.

I love multiplayer but it's true that I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with kids that have time to play it all day.
I can relate to everything else though.

The official site has a few samples:

Check out the specialist sample, it's really good.
I really like the Heartbeat, Heartbreak remix.
I'm not sure if Pursuing my true self needed an extended version though, the sample didn't convince me.

Anyway, I need this in my veins. Release is on October 26th.
