Good luck. You're going to need it. RPGs can be content-heavy and side quests can easily distract you into adding several more hours of game time.

Would be cool if you played as a banker or politician out for vengeance against his co-workers screwing him over or something, financially or otherwise. And now his new goal is to seek out corruption in high places.

I played this sometime ago, and while it gets egged on a lot for its mediocrity, I enjoyed it a fair bit. The battle system was addicting, in my opinion, and I thought the story was pretty good.

The visuals look OK, and from what I've read about the battle system, it seems to mirror Valkyria Chronicles in some shape or form, hopefully that means that it'll have somewhat strategy RPG elements. Really, about the most exciting part about this game is that Hiroki Kikuta (Seiken Densetsu) is composing.

I've been playing The Legend of Heroes V: Song of the Ocean on PSP. I'm getting towards the end. It's been a fun ride. I beat The Legend of Heroes III and IV already.

I remember enjoying 1, getting bored with 2.  Didn't play 3.  Then I asked, "what the hell did I like with 1?"

Haven't played 3 yet. All three Iris games were more-or-less fetch quests, with some story sprinkled over them. But of the two I've played, 2 seemed to resonate better towards me. I think it was the characters that I enjoyed more.

Found a copy of Atelier Iris 2 today. If I can just find a copy of AI3, I can play all three this summer.

Atelier Iris 2 was better than 1, imo.

I know, right?!

Every forum I'm in, I can barely find any people to talk with them about the group. People's opinions will range from "they're still around?" to "haven't heard their stuff in a long time, might check 'em out." It's unfortunate, because they're still a fun group to listen to. :(

Some are saying that because of those background screens, there's no chance that it's a new Breath of Fire, but I disagree, I could see those backgrounds being in a Breath of Fire game. Heck, they're general enough to be in any game.

Breath of Fire 3 is my favorite of the series. I liked the beginning of the game.

Breath of Fire 5 director Makoto Ikehara made a tweet, complaining that people figured out the official name.

Is it merely a coincidence that a Breath of Fire director chimed in on this perceived new Breath of Fire game?

Get Radiant Historia. Has an awesome time travelling concept and a gritty war time story. You can't go wrong.

Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenogears worth it?

I think you're doing a disservice to yourself by not finishing Xenogears in its entirety. It's considered one of the greatest RPGs ever made, and rightfully so. It's a wonderful game. It gets better as you dwell deeper into the story, however, I concede that the endless amount of background story can get quite confusing. Just too bad game development on disc 2 fell apart.
