Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson.  Big doorstopper of a paperback but it was pretty cool.  It has that different POV style & it follows a series of different characters from different times- half the story's in like 1980's-ish with a couple of techie guys, and the other half's set in like Vietnam War-ish times following this average joe-ish soldier.  I get really into good characters and that soldier was awesome.

Hey there hottie! Your smoldering gaze... makes me wanna... git nekkid!!  :D J/k~ Nice pic John.  CluelessWonder: Gorgeous! Where are you?  Looks like some place I wanna be!  LOL @ Neal, you sexy bass-playing roaring beast, you!  Funny vids.

I also took a Youtube video this weekend, goofing off with my friend:  We were gonna strip down to more scanty clothing but my friend had a wardrobe malfunction and Youtube wouldn't like that!  So it's just 30 seconds of fully-clad dorkiness. xD

Agreed, Deggy! Not that you won't be amazing, but yea Roald Dahl was really great!

I've read Life with Jeeves before, on a friend's strong recommendation of P.G. Wodehouse.  It was pretty droll and amusing, though not overly exciting.  I would've liked to get it as assigned reading; lucky you.

Hey I read the Great Book of Amber (Amber Chronicles compilation).  It started off pretty awesome, and had some great concepts.  I'd say the first 4 or so books were the best.  Then it just kinda fizzed out, got lame... I noticed that the later books were written by like "The Amber Corporation" as opposed to Roger Zelazny, so that probably explains why they sucked.

The most recent book I read was, weirdly, Fried Green Tomatoes at Whistle Stop Cafe.  It's not my usual type of book at all, but for some reason it just jumped into my hand and I started reading it.  And I liked it.

Nuri: I agree on Momiji, he's one of the sweetest characters. Fruits Basket as a whole is so sweet it's sappy at times, but somehow it doesn't get sickening.  Doshi, I recommend the manga for you because it gets a lot deeper and darker than the anime.  In the anime, Kyo's big secret was the climax; in the manga, it's a very early incident and barely the surface of the real plot.

The only thing that I would complain about is how new characters keep coming in and we have to read about each of their life stories. All the stories are interesting, but when they're very minor characters, I get a little impatient with the detraction from the main plot.

I'm actually a big fan of Ai Yazawa's works (Paradise Kiss). One of the best things about her manga, besides the obviously awesome punky fashion style, is that her stories have a sense of realism.  I disliked Yukari because she's insecure and selfish for a heroine, but I can definitely relate to her... (-_-;)

There's another series by Yazawa that's out in English called NaNa, her most recent and, IMO, her best yet.  It's about two girls who are polar opposites, a ditzy but sweet airhead and a punk rocker, who meet by chance and end up as roommates.  An excellent read for college-age girls I'd think.

As for me, haven't found any new manga but I'm still keeping up with 20th Century Boys and Berserk. Volume 21 on 20thCB... Oh and I bought the first volume of Monster in English!  Joy! (\(^_^)/)  lol
