Eusis linking to your own front page is still linking.

Great though I'm sort of considering picking up Soul Hackers before I get a 3DS for the preorder bonus now.

wrt DDS, I loved those games but I felt that the eating mechanic was a bit dull -- it's a simple risk/reward thing reminiscent of blackjack. How much do you want to try to eat before you go over the limit and get a stomachache?

Also I preferred DDS2's less-linear skill grid. Human forms were sort of useless in both games -- it was essentially a status affliction and I'm not really sure why you'd ever want to willingly transform. I think it cleared status effects? If that's true I seem to recall it making you too vulnerable otherwise for that to be worth it.

You dont have weaknesses in human form, but more likely human form was the only way to kill Omoikanes and get the bonusses and of course some enemies were weak to gun damage (Charm bullets were pretty OP tough)

Can you (As my unit?) marry with any unit here or you only make cupid work and pair characters?

I shamefully admit this is the only reason im considering this game altough i have played sacred stones and FE 6.

You can make the avatar sleep with any opposite gendered character in the game, barring the DLC and legacy characters. This includes children, late game characters, and post game characters among the usual lists of potential suitors. Additionally, whomever you pair the avatar up with will have a little cutscene play out depicting their proposal.

awesome im going to get it then.

The rest isn't too surprising but I seriously didn't expect Lightning to top the list.  But then these polls alway seem biased towards recent releases.

this poll was filled by CURRENT FF fans so most of the votes comes from people that still care for FF specifically the XIII series, then again JP is weird they know NOTHING about Noctis and he already beat some old timers FF fans, really weird.

Why has no one recommended Digital Devil Saga yet?

I like a LOT DDS is now my fav SMT game now, the soundtrack is the best i have hear in years of RPG gamming, i recommend it.

You didnt like Nocturne for its constant dungeon crawling and bits of story? Play DDS.

You didnt liked P3&P4 lots of talking and little dungeon exploration? Play DDS.

As for difficulty i found the game over screen more often in DDS than Nocturne just because you cant cover your characters weakness until like 70% latter in the game while in Nocturne you can by like 5% and not to mention like 90% of the mocks knows Rage or Psicho Rage.

Playing DDS 2 now but i dont think will top DDs 1 for me.

I actually enjoyed Silent Hill 4 alot.  It had some connections with SH2.

And with SH 1 and 3 too, i loved SH4 and i think is a great game.

The ghosts in your room are totally scary.

I think I commented on this thread before that the idea of playing an RPG you can't understand is pretty silly.  Most import-friendly games aren't story-centric for a reason.  But if you really want to, I would recommend Valkyria Chronicles 3.  If you're played the second one you should have no difficulty finding your way through the third, and it's an excellent game.

I wasnt like this until i became a Growlanser fan adn given that we wont be getting Growlanser 1 and 6 i think i didnt waste my time playing those. That being said as long as you can understand the gameplay there is no Big Deal when playing RPGs and since sometimes you are a fan of a series but most of them dont leave Japan so there is no other option.

I was reluctant when i got Criminal Girls but turned out to be an accesible and great game. Love the OST the most

No. Not even.

Even when the character designs stop both sucking and blowing chunks outright they're still pretty damn god awful.

There is literally no redeeming value for this game whatsoever. And remember what I said about having to actually import the game and the cost associated with that? You couldn't give me this game for free even if you covered every cost because it would still cost me time and effort to pitch it out the window ASAP let alone actually having to pay hard earned money on both the game and the shipping costs.

Question, have you played the game? Im will wait your answer in the meantime i say the character design is awesome for me and the gameplay is simple but fun, at its core this is a good Dungeon Crawler and the music is quite good.

If you are fluent i JP then both Criminal Girls and Nugga Cell are bad but for a non-JP reader both games are the import heaven of anyone, easy to grasp and complete, got almost everything in both games and the only JP i know is heard from animes and most games (Like Master and Sensei).

I love chibi characters and Alice... :)

Criminal Girls

Motto Nuga cell

Come on dont look at me like that!

I revived this topic in case people wnat to know some easy to play SRPGs and RPGs.

These games are rather straightforward i dont know Japanese at all and i have been able to complete them witouth a guide (If you get stuck just visit gamefaqs boards those help)

I enjoy them even if i dont know what the deal is about, but as far as i have seen the plot arent that great but the games are pretty accessible.

What puts you on modified, out of curiosity?

Meline dies= Old Route
Meline lives= New Route

I prefer the original because you can get nice CGs on the endings.

Ugh, I'm in a 'razzing' mood tonight and so much about this game just begs to be made fun of.

・This will be Lightning's last game and will end with a happy ending. The game has just one ending.

Oh, cool. Way to drain any dramatic tension from your narrative right out the gate. Not only does this lessen my desire to read your story since you already spoiled it; but really 'happy ending' plus 'JRPG' just screams 'Oh look, a miracle!' all over again. XP

・The first FFXIII was story driven, meaning that the story pulled the player along. FFXIII-2 was player driven, meaning players selected the story. Lightning Returns is World Driven, meaning players have to consider how they interact with the changing world.

Yeeeeah...I don't buy it. Sorry SE; you're no Bethesda. And even they don't really deliver on anything more then 'your choices don't really effect the world outside of a few kilometers beyond where X event takes place'.

・The game's in-game time works out to one day being the equivalent of one to two hours of real time. There will be increases and decreases in time.

Ephemeral Fantasia called. They want their game mechanic back.

・The game is meant to be played and cleared multiple times. The volume is not such that it will take many tens of hours to clear once.

Sooo...short, piddly narrative with pointless 'what ifs' just to place the 'false reward replay value' card on the table? You already said the game has one ending. That pretty much kills the 'I want to play this again' factor.

・Depending on your actions, the remaining life of the world could decrease, and the game could end before the 13 day limit. lied? If you have 'Bad Endings' then your game totally has more than one ending.

・There are some times when helping someone will decrease the life of the world.

・Defeating some enemies and clearing some quests will increase the life of the world.

In other words; your game mechanics cancel each other out and the whole 'worry about making choices regarding effects on the world life span' is meaningless since any dilemma is negated by the fact that I can go kill 50 brown wolves and magically the world lives another day.

・Lightning has become a considerably more refined person.

...*facepalms* Really?

・You can freely move around during battle. Some elements of the battle system are timing-based.

The 'Tales of X' series called. I think they're in EF's camp.

・The battle system is close to action. There's an ATB gauge.

Dude, you've got the wrong game. Paradoxes belong in XIII-2. Oh're being serious...

・During battle, you don't select menu commands. Instead, you select abilities which have been assigned to buttons. were too lazy to design a new battle engine so you just ripped off Kingdom Hearts?

・Hope will give guidance to Lightning via wireless com.

Nerdy scientist gives advice to action hero via sci-fi transmission system...give me a second...

Lightning? Can you hear me? Lightning!? Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiightniiiiiiing!?

...sorry. >>;

・The city has clocks everywhere showing the constant progression of time.

Ephemeral Fantasia just filed a police report over your kleptomania. :-P

Thats funny :) :) :).
