If it's any consolation, Capstan is probably my second favorite so far.  I just got to Broadleaf and actually don't like that theme at all, despite another cool town design.

This game is enjoyable, the town design is top-notch, and it's probably the closest I'm going to get to another Suikoden game, sadly.  On the other end, the story seems pretty shallow so far and I'm roflstomping everything in combat, but it does make for a nice, relaxing experience.

Also Arvis, I'm sorry that you're wrong, but Goldpaw has the best town theme. :P

Its different from a housing bubble. You can walk away from a bad mortage, you can't walk away from student loan debt. So the banks are eventually gonna get paid.

True.  Even if you declare bankruptcy, student loan debt does not get forgiven and you still have to pay the piper.  Makes no dagnab sense.

Or go into public service.  Pay your loans for 10 years and then (usually) the rest is forgiven.  It's a great way to subsidize lower paying jobs where you have to get expensive degrees to be qualified.

Public service would be a good idea if your loan balance is inordinately high, but depending upon the situation you might end up paying more in interest this way than if you just focused on paying off your loans as quickly as possible.  My job would have qualified for loan forgiveness but my loan balance (~$20,000) was low enough that I was able to work a full-time and part time job and pay off my loans in 3 years.  Were I counting on the public service loan forgiveness I would still be paying off my loans today with about 3 years left before receiving loan forgiveness.

That said, I can see this being totally worth it if you have six-figure student loan debts or come close to it.  My wife is still paying off her ~$40,000 loan balance, and I'm sad that the loan forgiveness thing doesn't extend to spouses.

I always thought people "enjoyed" curling due to it being so different from most of the other events, and so people who weren't so into sports would be into it ironically.  I have absolutely no idea if that's true or not.  Personally I find the Olympics boring in their entirety so I haven't been following it.

I did watch the whole superbowl, which is uncharacteristic of me.  I'm not an eagles fan per se, but I'm glad they finally won something.

I'm probably in the minority but I don't really like Yoshida's designs (similarly, I don't like Amano's designs) and really prefer the FF artwork done by Tetsuya Nomura.  My dream would be if Kimihiko Fujisaka (who did the designs for NieR, Drakengard and The Last Story) would do character designs.

I'm also probably in the minority because I really liked XV, but I'd be happy if we got another modern-era game, but one with a battle system more reminiscent of X, and characters with their own unique sets of abilities instead of something like the job system.

I hate multiplayer RPGs, so I really hope they're done with that for a while.

I also enjoyed the spoilercast episode!  I've been on the fence about playing the Danganronpa games since the first one got translated, but the podcast has planted me firmly in "not for me" territory, which is a good thing overall. I probably don't have the time to invest in a whole new series, and I don't think I would have taken the spoilers in 3 very well if I went into it blind, so cheers to you all for saving me countless hours that I can spend on different games.

From what I understand, luck plays a part but also the type of core crystal you use.  I've used about 20 common crystals and only got common blades, but I used one rare crystal and got a rare blade.  I imagine if you have decent luck you can get a rare blade out of a common crystal.

Maybe go see it by yourself?  Then you'll be free to geek out about it whenever you want.

I'm seeing Star War on Christmas because I don't have anything else to do, and I don't care about the series enough to have seen it earlier.

I bought this on release but we only opened our Switch yesterday so I finally got a chance to dig into this game.  I'm only just past the tutorial-ish part but I'm liking it.  My only major peeve so far is that the X button on the switch controller opens the fast travel and not the menu.  I must have mistakenly opened fast travel a dozen times so far.

I think I've beaten everything I'm going to beat in 2017 so here's my list:
Final Fantasy XV (And the Bro DLC)
Nier Automata
Persona 5
Sonic Mania
Diablo 3 (Story Mode)
The Final Station

I also effectively finished a runthrough of Stardew Valley, and am at the last boss of Tales of Berseria, although I'm not sure if I'm compelled enough to go back and beat the game.

So I got in a car crash last week on my way to work.  I'm fine, but my car is totaled, and now I'm in the overwhelmingly shitty process of buying another one.  I'm glad I had insurance, but all said and done I'll still be out a few thousand dollars at the end of this.  Of course this had to happen to the first car I ever purchased new, one that I've taken excellent care of.  The two beaters I drove previously never got a scratch on them.

I wish I could just teleport.

After waiting for an hour at a Wal Mart 45 minutes away from my house, I was able to get a SNES Classic!  I didn't assume I was going to get lucky with this so I'm pretty stoked.

Miller's is great! My sister used to live in Lancaster and she took us there one time when my wife and I visited her.

Shady Maple is also wonderful if you ever get a chance to go back that way.

I'm told The Amnish have great ingredients, although I'm not anywhere near the Amnish, so I'm out of luck there, not that I would want to support the Christian terrorist state in Pennsylvania at any rate...

The only terror here is mine in thinking that anyone would willingly pass up Amish food.  Those folks know their way around a kitchen.

My wife and I went to a beerfest at our local zoo yesterday, which was pretty awesome and fun, especially getting to see the animals with no kids around.

The resulting hangover has not been fun.  Me at 30 can't drink like me at 21, evidently.
