went golfing this morning.  I stink but I had a lot of fun.  One of the guys in my group played poorly and was furious about it. Throwing clubs and swearing and acting like a tool.  I never understood why people pay $30 a pop so they can be angry for 3 hours. Just enjoy that you're outside with your friends on a beautiful day.

Reading the Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.  It's a fantastic Sci-Fi novel by someone who is completely in love with Science Fiction and space travel. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is in to that genre. My only real complaint is that her male ship captain WAY overthinks social interaction and conversation in a manner that is generally very atypical of someone in his position/with his life experiences. But I hear that women have been dealing with those sort of mischaracterizations from male authors forever, so I guess it's a small price to pay for what has so far been a tremendously enjoyable novel.

BoF IV : That dungeon where you have to put apples on stumps to lure out the elephant/apteryx creature to chase it around narrow trap-filled ramps while constantly being attacked by the same 3 annoying enemy types?
... REALLY don't like that dungeon.

Enjoying the game otherwise.

BoF IV is best BoF, stick with it.  The payoff is one of the most gut wrenching scenes in the history of JRPGs. I literal teared up.

My own play log: Tales of Vesperia is the 2nd best Tales game after Eternia and it's no one's fault but my own that I waited so long to get this deep into it.
Darkest Dungeon is perfect for Switch (and handhelds in general) because it's so easy to pick it up, play one dungeon and then go do other things.

Yep I havenít gotten around to bebop yet.

Also not sure how my age relates to this at all, but ok.

Most people who are in their 30's now didn't get around to seeing things like future boy conan or lupin the 3rd until much later.  We tend to check out contemporary things first before going back for the classics. So I assumed it'd be the same with people younger.  But mostly, holy shit Cowboy Bebop is 21 years old.

You haven't.... watched.... Cowboy Bebop...??  O_______O

pretty sure he's only c. 20 years old.  so there is a very real possibility Cowboy Bebop came out before he was born.

Had a chance to exchange a bunch of old 360 games for this last night.  Glad I went with the Switch port of Skyrim instead.

I'm not really glad about it

Its different from a housing bubble. You can walk away from a bad mortage, you can't walk away from student loan debt. So the banks are eventually gonna get paid.

True.  Even if you declare bankruptcy, student loan debt does not get forgiven and you still have to pay the piper.  Makes no dagnab sense.

Or go into public service.  Pay your loans for 10 years and then (usually) the rest is forgiven.  It's a great way to subsidize lower paying jobs where you have to get expensive degrees to be qualified.

There's a recently abandoned Subway restaurant near my apartment. I walk by it on the way home. Almost every single day for the last two weeks or so, there's been this goose standing outside, staring in through the glass front door. Not even acting aggressive or defending something. Just... staring.

This is why (even with Discord hoppin like it is) we should all still check the forums.  You're a treasure Mesh.

I have been playing Alundra on my Vita a half hour at a time (on my lunch) for a month and am not even halfway through.  It's a good thing it's not terrible and the puzzles are engaging or I would've moved on by now.

It's not board game night until you've argued about the nature and/or intent of the rules to the point that someone threatens to quit

1) Doom and Destiny -  stop #1 on my "Xbox360 Retirement Tour" was stupid and rote and most of the jokes were offensive.  Oh well. On to the next one.

2) Shank - Another XBLA game I blew right through.  I'm trying to retire my 360 so that means slogging through shitty, overly violent platformers like this one before I finally play Dark Souls.

3) Half-Life 2 -  Chugging along through my stupid 360 backlog. This was a decent enough FPS.  I liked it more than Borderlands and Halo but still less than BioShock.  Though to be honest First Person Shooters tend to get tedious awfully quick.
