I still think Reimi is kinda cute, though.

Until you hit the point where she goes full on masochistic Yandere.

I've barely seen any of the game, so I'm not quite there.

And nobody is taught how to control their emotions anymore, either, which makes dialogue difficult to maintain.  It's sad (in my opinion).

Anymore? Was this ever taught?

Sort of.  By some generations.  At least moreso than now.  If my Jane Austen novels are to be believed, at least.

Yeah, I'm guessing emotional self-control has been a toughy since the dawn of humanity.

Thanks! That's super helpful.

Ok, that is an ABSURDLY good deal, but... I can already connect my laptop to my tv.  So... hm.

Yay! Mesh is back!

Yep all 3 games on Steam have a button you can set to fast foward in the configuration, R2 by default.  You can even set how fast it moves out of battle and in battle.
When I set up my gamepad controls, there was no "fast forward" option for me to assign a button to, anywhere.  T___T
My R2 rotates the camera to the right.

Seriously, though, how am I supposed to adequately equip ALL 16 CHARACTERS for this last dungeon!?  Is there some trick to getting tons of mira and sepith??  I've got a few up to snuff, but I have so many more to go...

Also, last thing: Alan Richard is frickin' awesome.  Just want to stress that.

pre-ordered .hack. Currently debating what game to start next: FF12, restart FF15, .hack, Trails 2, or metroid 2 DS. It will probably be .hack which I was thinking of saving until college football season ended however I'll have XBC 2, Ni No Kuni and maybe a Cold Steel game for that.

I want to say "PLAY ZODIAC AGE", but since you're hoping to play a Cold Steel title after fall, might I suggest Trails SC for your main Autumn RPG?

Man, I used to love pumpkin seeds, but I ate too many of the pre-packaged kind, and out of season, and just got so burnt out on them that I can't stand them anymore.  I would probably love fresh roasted seeds straight from the pumpkin, still, though.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I woke up with AWFUL acid reflux/heartburn after having more coffee than I usually have, so I think I might be a bit sensitive to caffeine, too.  I have always made efforts to moderate my coffee intake, but it looks like I need to be even more careful.

@Rucks - I think it's good to be passionate about things and to have strong opinions.  And I think it's good to express those opinions.  But have you found that most people tend to not enjoy being judged on the basis of your opinions?  Striking the right balance in expressing your beliefs is tough, at least in my experience.  Especially since I, too, have beliefs that many might consider "extreme".  And sometimes you can express something completely neutrally and some people will still overreact and assume you are judging them.  All this communication we have seems to make communicating more difficult.  And nobody is taught how to control their emotions anymore, either, which makes dialogue difficult to maintain.  It's sad (in my opinion).

There's a fast forward button?!  Seriously??

Also, re: unwinnable scenarios, Trails 3 on Steam has a very kind autosave, so you can always take convenient steps backwards if you've gone too far in the story.

Can we get a special badge for Rucks that says "This goes way beyond pumpkin spice" underneath it?

You best be back, @Frostillicus . :(

Trolls in the Sky 3

"After that 30-minute-long unskippable cutscene, here's the final dungeon where you are forced to use all 16 characters!  Bet you wish you had taken that one, subtle suggestion about leveling up your characters, eh?"

Honestly, I'm excited to be able to use everyone in one epic final dungeon.  I actually LOVE it when RPGs do this.  What I don't love is when there are 30-minute-long unskippable cutscenes before finding that out, so now I have to mash Circle through that long freaking scene again when I go back later.  On top of that, the way character builds work in Trails means that equipping everyone well enough to make them serviceable in combat is not going to be easy.  It will be quite a rough task, in fact.

But I love the characters, and I love character-building in Trails, so I truly am stoked to get back to it.  Any suggestions from the experts here?

My doctor has said nothing because I dont have one because I can't afford it.  I can afford to treat my wife's autoimmune disease (not covered by any insurance) -OR- have health insurance, but not both.

Still, maybe I should go see someone local.

...Perhaps there is something to Star's Artimicia/Mesh theory? :/

Haps, not much. Finally got some money freed up, now that my son is in public school. Day care was costing us over $1K a month. Can't put a price on quality care for your children, of course. Seeing as how we are not rich, I had no choice but to become competent at budgeting. Got pretty tight on funds at times, but I kept us afloat, so I'm proud of that shit. Now I can save up for a down payment, and get a new car for my wife. Her '01 Civic is approaching 200K miles, and it's showing its age through all of the suspension clunks and engine chugs.
Been trying to get back on brewing coffee with the Aeropress. It's totally worth the extra time and steps. Especially now that pumpkin spice coffees (read: the shit) are in season. Automatic brewers just can't match the hands-on approach. I thought about buying/trying a Chemex, but decided the Aeropress does a pretty good job as it is. Don't need 3 different coffee makers.

The exciting life I lead...

First of all: I hate to say it but I had a similar thought when I read the Mesh/Arti theory.  I am ashamed.  Surely our sweet Mesh would never be so hateful!

Second of all:  you SHOULD be proud of the way you've taken care of your family!  Handling responsibility successfully is super cool!

Third of all:  I googled that AeroPress and it looks pretty darn cool.  Is it like a single-serve french press or more like an espresso maker?

Speaking of coffee, my haps: woke up at 3am with awful acid reflux (my worst ever) that culminated in vomiting really acidic vomit.  Went back to sleep and then had further digestive trouble of another kind in the morning after waking.  I want to say "it was something I ate", but there are two problems with that.  1) This is third time I've blown chunks in a 6 month span.  That doesn't feel normal, especially not for me.  2) The main thing I can think of that could have caused it is the Dunkin Donuts cold brew I had, which is one of my favorite things in the world.
It also could have been some cookies, I had, but... I'm just a little worried about all this inexplicable barfing I'm suddenly doing this year.

I'm sure you guys are super happy to know all that.

Playing PCE Engine stuff mostly -- Tenshi no Uta, Manjimaru, Rondo of Blood, Blood Gear, and Splash Lake in particular.

Also Secret of Mana (not a PCE game, obviously!)

Not really playing No Man's Sky since 1.3 made some changes I'm not really in love with (planet gen is a very noticeable step down from 1.24, animal gen is... off, the new biomes are very repetitive  because none of the new plants or plant-like... things they have are procedural/vary, also the more realistic plants really, really clash with the existing, more fantastical ones, and I'm not in love with the new HD textures), so I'm waiting to see if those get addressed at all or if I should just roll back to 1.24.

Booted up A-Train 9 for a bit and didn't really play it, just went into ride mode and... watched that, and it was nice, and I'd really like finding some mostly non-violent/low-violence city exploration thing, although one with more persistence and less alien-ness than say Bernband. Something like Persona 5 maybe but without the actually game-like elements. Guess this is a good excuse to go back and finish Shenmue.

Although most urban, explorationy things are more in the GTA-style so not at all non-violent and like...

I had this moment the other day that maybe speaks to my I pretty much don't play a lot of modern games anymore, but I was watching someone stream the new Monster Hunter game the other day and half-way through whatever hunt that was, the target monster starts limping and trying to run away from the player, which is a visual cue that the boss is getting low on health and what you're doing is working, etc. But like, mentally I'm registering this as "this is a hurt and scared animal" and I had to shut the stream off because it was making me really uncomfortable?

This was his last post, back at the end of August (although I guess he's logged in and lurked as recently as mid-September?) so maybe No Man's Sky is just really that good now?

What happened to that funny guy with the avatar of Macha's face glitching through a chair in Xenosaga who played all those weird import RPGs?
Yeah, Mesh hasn't been around in ages....hope he's doing ok.

Right!  Yes, @MeshGearFox that's the guy.  I miss him.

Bro, I only just now finished One More Happy Ending, so I'm way behind.  The wife is rewatching Pinocchio right now, which is fine with me because 1) That's one of the best dramas ever, and 2) it gives me more time to game.

Go Back Couple, Revolutionary Love, and one of the ones you mentioned (BTLIOF) are all on my radar, as far as Airing dramas.  But I have no idea if I'll actually dive in soon or not.

I've heard mixed things from The Best Hit, what was your impression?
