35 hours in and where has the time gone? I haven't enjoyed a game this much this since XenobladeX.
Ha ha!  It's funny, that game keeps coming to mind when I play this, even though they're completely different.  I think it's the joy of exploring a richly detailed and handcrafted world.

It must be, exploring mira on my 60+ inch tv with my surround sound (laugh if you want but the music for areas like noct day were fantastic to me, i would crank up the volume just to listen to that tribal beat) was fantastic. The game had flaws for sure but the exploration was top notch imo (also freaking mechs, a dream of mine in video games since the original xenogears blew my mind with mech combat as a kid).

I did a replay of the xbox version about 3 years ago, it still held up imo (nothing ground breaking it's a tales game ya know?) I'm really looking forward to trying it out with the new content and characters. The game is a gem to me.

I won't dispute anything you guys have said about it, but it still makes me a little happy that TLR got a remaster. It will probably have technical issues (I'll hold off buying to see some video but if there aren't any i'll support it and buy a copy even though I have the pc version). Maybe i'm just a sucker for games that the majority don't like.

yea running at 1080 with zero frame drops on ps4 pro. This game is turning me into a hermit (playing with hard monsters only). The spider is currently kicking my ass because I can't land dazzle on him at level 18. I'm wondering if it's because of my level being too low or if he's immune. He's a real jerk!

http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Last_Remnant_Wiki_-_The_Last_Remnant_Guide

take 20 min and look around, the wiki is really done well and there is a lot of info, it even dives into how stats are increased (want more hp? take more dmg in a fight, want more str? attack/weapon arts, int? mystic arts. How do I increase exp ranks on skill (like item) use said skills/abilities often) that's just the simplified version there's things like BR (battle rank) and how it effects enemy stats. It's a ton of info but just play the game if you find it interesting and you'll figure it out (with the wiki's help). Some of us older fans still patrol the gamefaq's board and answer questions (it's not toxic at all, they're very helpful).

This game has always been one of those (forgive me aladdin) diamonds in the rough. I've done a ton of playthroughs (there's so many team members to choose from, some are better than others but you can beat the game with generic units if you plan things right). It always saddened me that there wasn't another made but it just didn't sell well enough :(

I always wished that other rpgs would take grandia's battle system and refine/push it forward. I always loved it.

I have to piggyback on forcing us to retrace our steps to exit a dungeon. The original friggin dragon warrior had a spell to warp you out of a dungeon so any "modern" rpg that did not should be bitch slapped.

legaia is definitely not for the impatient, it's slow, high encounter rates etc.

I can't disagree about grandia's story (the original) but damn did the battle system click with me, maybe i'm in the minority with this?

echoing, the first is....just slow there's no way around it but it's all world/character building. The rest of the series really picks up (but there's still a lot of text).
