On those recordings I'm doing a good deal of the guitar and all the vocals.

I've never heard of those guys but I know Chicago is pretty well known for some hardcore stuff. My brother was friends with Harm's Way. The "scene" that I guess I run in is mostly garage rock and kids trying to sound like music from the 60's. I know just from creeping on the forums that you are generally into music with more of an edge ;)

This is my new band. Please take a listen!

I meant on a more surface level. The Noctis we saw in 2006 is pretty much the same Noctis we see now. I preferred him in the suit and pointy shoes! XD Somewhere deep in the vaults at Square, there are design docs for the game that was meant to be FFXV and I'm just curious as to what we are missing!

It's just that almost 10 years ago they showed me a game and said "this is FF Versus XIII" or whatever. And then, yeeeeaars later, they showed me a game and said "This is FFXV." But it wasn't! It was Versus! So instead of the mystique and anticipation of "I can't wait to see what new and cool shit they have for the new Final Fantasy," we got "Oh, I've seen that before."

Stephen and I just seem to have way different opinions when it comes to this stuff. Which is good! It would be boring if everybody at RPGFan was the same person.

A lot of what you bring up is backed by evidence: quotes from interviews, active time reports etc...I probably should have made it more clear in the editorial that a lot of this was just based on my gut feelings about the game and I don't exactly know how to explain that.

I do really believe that Square is nervous about screwing up FFXV but they should not make it so obvious by asking fans anything. They straight up said, "If FFXV came out at the same time as Persona 5, which would you buy?" THAT IS MENTAL. It is a concession to the fact that they are no longer at the top of their game. Atlus is soooo small compared to Square. They shouldn't even acknowledge Persona! They should be confident in what they are producing.

And the stuff about WRPGs is nothing but my opinion! Think it was unfair to single out Bethesda? I don't like BioWare games either ;)

Holy rock.

Think there is enough time for my mom to make me one of those totoros before Christmas ? :0

This is all awesome. Now my secret plan has been revealed! I will just steal all of everybody's amazing ideas for myself! Expect to see this all on my Etsy page!!!

Dragging out the development schedule suggests they're obsessed with avoiding failure, when it would have been better to skip all this redesign, ship the game sooner, learn from their mistakes, and move on to FF16.

It is also a bummer that we were robbed of "the next Final Fantasy." It'll be what, another 6 or 7 years before FF16? And we saw "XV" for the first time way back in 2016?

I doubt we will see anything new for a long time. We will see XV-2, XV-3, VII, VII-2, VII-3. Where the hell is Agni's Philosophy!?

I'll take your word for it on the Metallica stuff Neal xD It seems like Square is too worried about pleasing everyone and I really think the game will suffer for it. But, this is all conjecture! The game could be amazing!

Colin's editorial on the front page is relevant to this discussion:

Woot! Thanks, Neal!

That slime is wonderful, Robert. Who can hate googly eyes?

You gotta bust out that Mario cake pan and post a picture of your amazing creation on the forum!

Here are some felt ornaments from last christmas.

That same birthday, my brother decorated all of my presents with foam slimes and DQ battle system menu cut-outs. Notice, I am level 20.

What is up guys!?

I thought we could use a topic like this to show off all of the cool video game cakes, presents, crafts may get for your birthday or whatever.

I have a cool mom and want to share her stuff. I want to see your stuff too!

My family can't be the only weirdos who do this!

I'll start with a Slime cake my mom made for my 20th birthday. She misspelled "birthday" but that only makes it more unique!

When I first heard it I took it for a dungeon theme but that hook screams boss battle. Hopefully a nice dose of Lotus Juice will make the rest of the song more interesting.
