Pretty sure I recommended Alderamin when it was still new...yup, I did.

But what's this about the LN being canceled?  According to wikipedia there's another volume coming out in just a few days.  Looks like it's been releasing twice a year pretty consistently.

I went online to find out if there was ever going to be a season and read posts that the anime tanked and there are no more LNs coming out. I assumed it to be true because the internet is never wrong.

anime strike has Garden of Sinners. well done amazon.

besides the holy crap where did this WTF love triangle come from Samuari 7 was a lot of fun.

Almost done with .hack//GU vol 2. The story is fine even though its extremely tropey which was expected. Might have to switch to japanese dialogue tho to see if it flows better. During the cutscenes there are crazy long pauses between statements and its annoying.

I initally thought that Aldermain on the Sky was some generic shonen for some reason. However hey it was excellent and not some generic shonen at all. People should watch it! Pity because they it set up nicely for season 2 but supposedly it tanked so hard that the LN was even cancelled.

Tatami Galaxy, yea, I wanted to like it but the dialogue comes toward you at ludicrious speed and I spent whole episodes not watching anything while trying to follow the subtitles.

Recently watched Grimgar again. I think even liked it more the 2nd time. I'm always a sucker for that like of watercolor/sketch backround art style and I think of an anime that did fights better.

I'm likely to pick this up at release.  I enjoy the VC battle system enough that, even if the execution is less than stellar, there should be something there for me to like.

And even if they botch it utterly...well, I guess I have to play a bad game every once in a while so that I can appreciate the good ones.  At least I'll get a Sakimoto soundtrack out of it.

please be good   please be good   please be good

Keep the wonderful art style and gameplay and it would be really hard to screw this up. The story and characters are a bit worrying tho. They seem to be notching up the fact or angst and grittyness up considerably for this one.

Lost in the gameplay of VC1 was how good the story and characters were. It was well done story about different people coming together to play their part in stopping an invasion with a nice subplot about the evils of predijudice in it.  It was a masterclass of simple story telling in a RPG.

no cleavage: 2/10

not going to buy.

In all seriousness, while VC1 was my favorite game of the PS3 era, Sega RPGs seem to have a track record of being one of the best games ever or turning their IPs into gutter trash. So I'm going to temper my enthusiasm but its a good start.

If the translation was this bad why didn't they just delay both versions instead of releasing the PS4 version early. I'm just thinking right now of saying alright you know i'm not going to wait until next year to play it i'm just going to start playing it I mean the translation isn't bad to the point where it's unplayable there's just alot of errors.
The translation isn't terrible.

Technically the translation isn't wrong. That is a big hole.

Man, VC 3 was just too good, even it was really just VC 2.5 (which I think was also good, if not for some annoynace with the credit system). Totally not happy about the new direction with the franchise. There was potential to make it like Kiseki, close the Gallian trilogy and move to new country. Wasn't meant to be I guess.

You could farm everything in trials, that is if you want to keep using that mode and savescum steals all day long. Also it's not the same thing getting a thing like Wyrmhero Blade in trials opposed to actually completing the questlines. Personally I think it's good only for trial 100, which was one of the best bonus bosses in the entire franchise. Other locations iirc, are Henne mines depths, Pharos subterra and I think you can get one from the hunt club quest, but it means sacrificing other great gear you could get there. Also I think those chests have something like a 10% spawn rate. In any case, there isn't need for more than 1-2 ribbons, since someone is probably rocking some Boots, Genji Gloves or a Bubble Belt anyway.

Almost done with the Titan trials in FF XIII myself. Got one extra trap too, but still need to farm some gil so that my "ultimate" weapon doesn't have lower stats than my tier 2.

Also noticed that Suikoden IV has managed to make it to PSN at some point. Seems I could actually finish this franchise now. Heard some bad things about it, but ehhh... in retrospect I even managed to like Suikoden III. I think my appreciation towards the series is growing with each game I play, though they may not be personal favorites.

-If you just "liked" Suikoden 3 (which IMO is a classic) then you will hate Suikoden 4. I lasted about 10 hrs with it. It hits you with random battles like every 3-5 seconds. It also looks terrible.

-I would be extremely happy if the news on the 20th is that VC3 is being remade on a console. I mean jeez you have the canvas engine sega and the original VC still looks crazy good.

Finished vol 1 of .hack//GU, CLIFFHANGER! Anyway apparently for the remaster they up the exp you get with battles. Which makes sense because why make this series 160 hours long when you can do it in 100. Was a bit starved for a challenge so occasionally I just plowed though a couple dungeons about 8-10 levels above my pay grade.

Still likely to be better about it than Star Ocean 5 was or anything Level 5 ever put out at least.

The one thing you're not remembering here is that Level 5 made Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle, which is one of the greatest video games ever made.

DC2 was yea one of the best of the PS2 era. Their games do need a better story (never played Ni no kuni) and to be a lot less grindy.

I'm downloading Tales of Xillia through the PS Store for $20. I played the Japanese version back in 2011, but got stuck because I couldn't understand enough to proceed. I never really had that problem with Graces F, because I have 30 hours invested in the JP version of Graces F. Now with the English version, I can proceed with a lot less dicking around.

Older tales games often hit the flash sales for around $7 if you keep your eyes peeled.

Sometimes I think it would be great to have a kid aged say 7, and for christmas I could suprise him/her with a brand new happy fun sonic game. The game I had so much fun playing as a wee Rook.

The story is dripping with self-serious intensity, portraying a dark future of robo-oppression and torture.

Outside of the 2 MCs, Made in Abyss was pretty damn incredible.

Only about 90 min in but it doesn't seem to be a 1/2 assed money grab. Graphics pretty well done and it looks at least as good as a new Tales game.

So, don't watch the P4 anime?

P4's anime isn't BEST ANIME EVAR! good but its very well done in both English and Japanese (don't watch the P4 Golden anime tho) and you should watch it. Its pretty much faithful to the game only you don't have to dungeon grind. Same goes for P3's anime.
