I've been following Elemental since it's been announced, being the Stardock fan that I am. I'm not sure how good the final product will end up being though, the feedback I've had from people playing in the last betas told me it still felt unfinished and not polished, so I'm worried.
Stardock never stopped supporting their games so in any case hthey'll be quick to patch their shit up and deal with whatever's wrong. They're great developers, but I don't think this will top Gal Civ 2 (which is, IMO, the best 4X strategy game out there, better than Civ IV even)

Nah they did a really shitty optimization job on the first ME1 on PC, it was just horrible, probably the second worst job Bioware ever did behind NWN2. I had serious hiccups with it and I can run ME2 almost flawlessly on high.
Funny how Bioware did neither of those PC versions. Hell Bioware didn't even develop NWN2. Oh yeah, good point. Forgot Obsidian dealt with NWN2. And still, the PC port was half assed even if Bioware didn't do the porting job themselves.

Besides, the PC port of ME was shit. Doubt the PS3 version would've been better. I didn't think it was, I thought Demiurge did a better job with it than Bioware did with ME2, at least regarding the UI that is. ME2 was missing really basic things that have been standards in PC games for years, like shortcuts to the individual menus, mouse wheel and double-click support in menus (all of which were in the first game). Nah they did a really shitty optimization job on the first ME1 on PC, it was just horrible, probably the second worst job Bioware ever did behind NWN2. I thought they were doing something else too, especially with how they hinted it last week.
But hey, this might not be so similar to Bioshock, not unlike Bioshock itself wasn't so similar to System Shock.

The 2012 release window is pretty far though, but I guess it makes sense since they were still working on some DLC for Bioshock 2. Still, this means they're probably not far in development and it'll take months or more to get more details about the setting/story/gameplay :/

If you want to really enjoy a HHOM&M game might as well get 3. Disciples 2 was pretty fun too, and it's dirt cheap on Steam I think. They play differently too, Disciples 2's combat system isn't grid based, it has the whole 4x elements with the world map, but the battles are like an old school turn based RPG, which I thought was pretty cool.
Or you could wait until the end of the month and get Elemental : War of Magic, although it's closer to the Civ games.
