Are these different games, the descriptions have been so very vague not sure what to make of them.

Yes. FFvXIII is an action RPG by the KH team. FFXIII, apparantly, is a more traditional FF. Or perhaps FFXII styled, I dunno at this point. Different directors for each game too.

Forget FFXII.  I want my VP: Silmeria, and Seiken Densetsu 4.  Those were definitely my two favorite games of SE's lineup.

Your favorite game is something that hasn't even come out anywhere yet?
10848  The Rest / General Discussions / PS3 to sell for $499, have motion sensing controller on: May 09, 2006, 11:08:44 PM
As long as it's justifiably $60, I don't mind. However, there's several games that're 60 yet are $50 on current gen systems, one case /$40/ on the PC, with no upgrades outside of something like achievements. Quite frankly, that's a load of bullshit and shouldn't be tolerated. Ofcourse, it looks like those games are the first to hit price drops, so maybe people will knock it off.

Edit: A bit late, but looking at Superflat's response... I fail to see how this is less serious; I think it's more so if anything. Everything you opted out of getting for the X360 premium pack could easily be bought later on and added, outside of chrome plating on the disc plate. This, however, removes several built in features that may not have solutions later purchasable for - ergo the only way to get them may very well be to buy the more expensive model. Combine that with the fact $300 was the standard new console price, while $500 is a fuckload more, and... No. This is /much/ more serious.
10849  The Rest / General Discussions / Wii to have a Classic controller on: May 09, 2006, 11:01:47 PM
If possible, I'd probably be an ass and get both versions. We've been waiting forever on the GC game, but I really want to check out the Wii features too.

It doesn't look like the shell controller they talked about last year but still, it looks to be SNESlicious.

http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/09/nintendo-shows-off-wii-remote/

That shell controller wasn't Nintendo's idea, but rather IGN's concept art. If you pay attention to the details, you could tell that not only was it photoshopped, but it couldn't work anyway.

I know it was probably photoshopped. But I thought that nintendo hinted at a shell controller, not THAT specific one. Either that, or IGN flat out lied for no good reason (I doubt that somewhat).

Well, they may have intended just that originally, but plans changed for whatever reason. Glad it isn't that shell anyway; button layout's great for GC games but just isn't as practical for a good number of older games.

Even more ignorant question: I'm not entirely sure what wi-fi is! Is it wireless internet support, like the DS? Would that mean that the cheaper model couldn't go online?

Basically, yes. Or at least (and I am totally not sure on this) it'd be a hard-wired connection.

I've seen the back of the system: It's got an ethernet port. So you'd basically have to buy an adapter later or something to go online wirelessly... Not that Sony's announced any such solutions, but there's still the good ol' fashion wireless stations.
10853  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Shadowrun FPS on: May 09, 2006, 05:28:43 PM
Official site.

Personally, I'm really disappointed. We haven't had a Shadowrun video game in over a decade, and when they /do/ make one, it's not an RPG but rather what sounds like a Counter Strike clone in a sci-fi/fantasy setting. Sigh.

Anyone who cares about Shadowrun even remotely still hoping this turns out well? It'll be nice, but I'm not all that interested now.

The 20 gig one will not only have a smaller Harddrive, but it'll lack the wi-fi, the memory stick readers, and the HDMI output. I've complained earlier in this thread about that.

The PSP game is still a mystery, and is why I didn't post what Jimmy did earlier. However, that picture is almsot certainly concept artwork for Rogue Galaxy, as that was shown when the mystery PS2 project was announced.

It's probably safe to say that the PSP game is vaporware by now.

It's only been about a year and a half since it was first mentioned, and it does take a good while to develop games - if nothing's heard in a year or two, /then/ I think it'll be vaporware

I'm obviously desensitized to RPG news. All I'm really excited about is Mario on the DS. :P

Fuck you, that's great, but what about STARFOX DS or YOSHI'S ISLAND 2?

Now that I looked at RPGFan's feature... I'm guessing that PSP content rule /is/ true. Dammit, SCEA's too fucking anal for anyone's good. So what if there isn't that much new content, I just want to play stuff like BoFIII and Suik1/2 on the go.

Ah well, VP:L was the remake I was interested in most anyway; Suik1/2 would've been nice but I beat those already and those discs are fine. :P

I think something like "I don't think that's the truth" or "I don't trust the source on this" would have sufficed. :P

Yeah, god forbid we don't sound like robots when we talk. :P

A New York Times article is claiming that Blizzard will announce a WoW live action film today.

So er, if this is true then... Well, I don't know what to think. It could either be awesome, or the most horrible thing ever put on celluloid.

If I wasn't already hitting the bottle, I would over this announcement.
