I can't say I've been completely innocent, as I was guilty of some of that 'japan > everything' crap late in Middle School/early in High School, but I was at least never dumb enough to take blatantly non-Japanese words and try to pronounce/spell them like they were japanese.

Nevertheless, pending a really stupid name change, I tend to be apathetic for which name is better; I'm talking about stuff like Rolf and Eusis (both I think are good), and not stuff like Fia and Fiaa. And there are times when I prefer to refer to a game by it's japanese name than it's american name, namely Tales of Eternia.

1up preview here.

Screw all those great import RPGs that've never come out here, I want this!

Awesome, I was afraid it'd get a last minute 'delay' like the DDS games have gotten. Good to see it'll make the day EB/GameStop listed though. The previews at the last minute /were/ a good sign, what with all that the previewers could check out. :P

2. Sidebar and header are fine....DO SOMETHING WITH THAT BIG BLACK SPACE....(i know you'll probably throw an ad in there or someting, but FILL SOMETHING IN THERE! I'll MS Paint you something and email it off for the timebeing.)

Do you mean the spaces on the left/right? Go into your profile, and change the Board Style to Grand Dream. You may need to reload after doing so.

I think it's worth keeping in mind the Invision-style skin for later, unless everyone decides they don't care... But I don't mind really since Grand Dream works fine for me, heh.

For a real suggestion though, I'd like to see the Faq/Profile/Whatever buttons at the top get the white corners taken off. Even if it's just temporary and until actual buttons are made for those; it just looks ugly with those corners. :P

Things I will NOT change: The header and sidebar. Those stay.

Does this mean you're not making the skin more like the old Invision boards, or just that it'll be secondary, ala Grand Dream?

If I think of something I'll post it later; there may be some tweaking between now and then anyway.

Square Enix's sucks they do not make good games any more.

So when did they stop making good games?

Reviving this, as the official site updated. Still no new shots or anything. Maybe in a week we'll know for sure if it's the same as in that video or if it's had any significant changes. :P

That's one of my big pet peeves too. But I think I hate what's on the IMDB more, even though it's essentially the same as your complaint; take a look at this and this. The name is right there on the fucking packaging, don't make this bullshit wannabe Japanese crap when the fucking CASE reads differently. Damn, why the fuck are they getting away with this shit anyway?

God. I bet Tedius is at fault for the IMDB. :P

Edit: Taking another look at that... To be fair, it seemed like he started progress before the game came out in the US. So it's not like he got the game, played through it, then decided to be an ass and use only the japanese names.
11079  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy Potions on: March 02, 2006, 02:55:17 AM
As annoying as it is to link off-site when RPGFan reported on it previously, I think it's a little too harsh to go on someone's case for a news story that's /monthes/ old. If I wanted to bring that up, I'd rather just hit Google unless I specifically remembered it was here. :P

I'm doubting it, but I'm hoping this gets a domestic release. You can buy stuff like Midori here, so hey.
11080  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy XII on: March 02, 2006, 12:31:34 AM
Why is it even a good idea to keep your interest up, seriously? Every time as of late that I've gotten too hyped up for a game, I just get disappointed. You don't keep your expectations high, you're easier to please, and I'd hate to ruin that long awaited experince by expecting too much out of it. :P
11081  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Oblivion on: March 01, 2006, 10:40:52 PM
May as well, need an actual PC topic. Ironically, I'll be getting this for the X360, as my PC can't run it. Can't wait for it, at any rate.
11082  Media / Single-Player RPGs / X on: March 01, 2006, 10:39:34 PM
Great. Our first computer RPG post, and it doens't look like it's even an RPG. I knew I should've made that Oblivion topic earlier. :P

For some reason I actually kinda know about this: I blame it on the fact the X-Men movies are using the same naming scheme now. Reviews don't look too hot though, so I'm pretty sure I'l lnever look at this game, even when I get a PC capable of running it.
11083  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Kingdom Hearts II on: March 01, 2006, 10:02:31 PM
Meh. The marketing's more important for that then when it's announced; the hardcore that follow it may temporarily forget, but will wind up remembering when it comes out, and the marketting will make sure everyone else knows.
11084  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence on: March 01, 2006, 09:26:46 PM
See, that's the thing, the flavors of stealth are different. Splinter Cell feels more 'realistic' and like a sim, while MGS is more arcade-like. Plus I like the stories in MGS: I haven't played through any Splinter Cell game to the end, but if any of them have great stories, then by all means prove me wrong. It's all subjective though, so that'd help more if several others posted. :P

Plus just because on game's better doesn't mean we just ignore the 'inferior' one. If we used that logic, we'd just get one game of each genre and sub-genre, and call it a day.
11085  The Rest / General Discussions / This is serious, people. on: March 01, 2006, 08:47:03 PM
The person who started this has been negligent. He's forgotten all about the third party candidates. We need 'Maybe', 'Probably', and 'I'm unsure'.
