The Walking Dead is actually rocking this year, while American Horror Story is moving along with little direction.
Every episode of TWD has been tense and full of events that keep the pace moving. It's been a great ride so far.
Hopefully AHS will be better this week. It's not bad. It just kind of there.

I dunno, I actually prefer this season of AHS to last season's. Last season I constantly felt like they were making things up as they were going, while this season I find the overall story to be much tighter. I also really like Lily Rabe's Sister Eunice, especially after episode 2. I can't wait to see more with her.

But I absolutely agree with you on Walking Dead. Every episode this season is a memorable one and the tension has only barely let up after last week's craziness. Much improved over last season.

Walking Dead spoilers

Also, me and my friend I watch the show with are 100% convinced Carol is alive. The show seems to be trying hard to make you think she is dead, and the peeps on Talking Dead are being really vague with details about her.

Magic Mike -
So here we have the dancing dude movie. I'm not sure I can properly review that portion of the movie, so perhaps any ladies around here who've seen it can elaborate on that. I CAN say that I don't really get how what they were doing would work for anyone. It was just so terribly unsexy. But women can be just as silly/rowdy(if not more so) as men when it comes to such things so what the hell do I know?
The actual story portion was a joke. Extremely generic and full of bad actors. How the hell did this get an 80% on RT?
Mike is played by bad actor extraordinaire Channing Tatum, so you know right off the bat the quality level the movie is aiming for. Oddly enough, he might have actually done the best job here. The only other guy to get any type of a character arc was Adam. The rest, including McConaughey's Dallas, were just THERE. No characterization at all.
The most baffling part of the movie was Mikes supposed attraction for Adams sister. There was nothing attractive about her at all. Totally boring with no emotion or enthusiasm for anything. I'll chalk this up mostly to the terrible acting skills of whoever it was playing her. Awful actress. But even if she had a good actress playing her, it wouldn't have mattered due to it being a terribly written part.

So definitely don't get this if you're looking for a good story. Hell, I'm not sure you even want to get it for the dancing dudes. Those scenes were just odd, and even included a couple of suspect guys who I'm not sure should belong to such a group. Perhaps to get the "bad boy" angle, I don't know.
Overall, it was just pretty bad.

I can guarantee that my interest in this film has zero to do with the story. ;)

But thanks for the heads up anyway, I'll manage my expectation accordingly.

Anyone here read Homestuck? I started recently and just began Act 3. I'm really digging it, and the quality of the music and Flash blows my mind.

I thought John C. Reilly did a great job in Chicago.

Ditto, and Mr. Cellophane is probably my favorite number in the whole film.

Sherry is a pushover then.  Damn, I wanna be Jake. :(

I think Piers wins between Chris and him.  Piers certainly starts with a better set of guns.  His "final chapter weapon" seemed pretty booming, but apparently controls like hell.

My friend actually liked playing as Sherry the best of the three he played (Helena, Piers, Sherry). He really liked her stun rod. However, I can see your point about Jake; in terms of melee, he was the easiest to control of the three I played. I hated meleeing with Chris, I found his moves to be kinda awkward.

Totes finished this game a week or so back. Been playing it with a friend co-op, so I haven't done Ada's yet. Waiting on the co-op DLC for that.

Impresshuns time!

Best campaign: Leon & Helena. I just loved the environments and enemies of the campaign much more than in the other two. There are also a lot of great nods to RE2, especially a great tongue-in-cheek one at the end of the first chapter. My fav moment is during the end of the campaign when Helena up-front asks Leon,
"You have feelings for Ada, don't you?" And I just wanted to high five her, because Leon totes wants to toss Ada his rocket launcher.
I ended up really liking Helena, and I hope she returns in future games.

Jake and Sherry are a close second, since I think their chapters have the greatest mix of game play; from exploration, to puzzle solving, to stealth, to combat (both melee and firearms).

Chris and Piers' campaign has some problems, but those have already been mentioned in this thread. However they get an award for (End of Campaign Spoilers)
Best almost kiss.

Gameplay wise the controls were a bit wonky at first, but hey, it's Resident Evil! While they took some getting used to, I don't think they're bad, they just a bit of a minor learning curve. The last third person shooter I played was Mass Effect 3, and I kept trying to emulate its cover mechanics, and always ended up leaping over the cover. I love the herb system in this game, and I hope they keep it.

All in all I'm quite satisfied. Can't wait to do Ada's campaign and to see what else they're coming up with DLC wise. While I think it may be unlikely, I'd LOVE to see additional DLC campaigns for other RE characters, like Jill or Claire.

Romney finally concedes.

I think the real reason isn't Ohio. I think the real reason is that he was writing his damn concession speech.

Now Ohio can go back to not mattering except for meth labs and the Amish.

I totally read that URL as "Is that Cher dead yet?"

Walking Dead

Well fuck.

Dunno what to do against human-squid-fish of death and his obstacle course though...

If you're referring to what I think you are, then that is probably my least favorite part of the whole campaign. The part is too long and the camera changing just does not work well in your favor. I'm also biased because my bud's controller was screwing up, and I also forgot how to slide ><, which caused us to fail a good 3 or 4 times.

Nearing the end of Chris' campaign...

I can see some of the complaints. There are a few vehicle segments that are completely lame. Chasing Ada on some highway in China that looks like a ps1 ridge racer course is laughable. In the later part of Chris' campaign you're on a boat. The environments there are pretty bland and pretty void of detail. It's pretty uneven, pretty much all of the areas in Leon's campaign had a great atmosphere and look to them. You could tell they took some time there. But the last 1/2 of Chris' campaign feels very rushed and suffers for it.

If I wasn't playing co-op I would be pretty unhappy, I imagine.

I agree with you about all of this, except I really liked the environment of Chris's last chapter, as well as the part in his 4th chapter where

you have to collect the three card keys and you're being chased by those regenerating enemies, and its all tight corridors and dim lighting. Probably the most unnerving part of his campaign.

I remember renting the original DQ7 years ago and having a blast with it. This might be the first DQ I buy.

Yet never any penis.... then again I don't even know if women wanna see that.
I find it annoying.  Not so much Game of Thrones, but I hate that every goddamn HBO show seems to have this as a show requirement of some sort.

Actually there are! And not just one, but I can think three separate dongs that have appeared in all their glory over the course of GoT. Of course, one of these was certainly not supposed to be for sexy purposes.

And I certainly aint complaining when one pops up on screen. ;)

Just came back from a kick-ass Halloween party. My Riff Raff costume I bought from Amazon was shit, but the epic game of Cards Against Humanity made up for it. I was stone cold sober the whole time too. Had to shave my beard for my costume though; let it never be said that I've never suffered for my art.

Also, thanks for the congrats. Y'all are terrific. :D
