I've been following this project since it launched last month, and as of right now, they're almost at the 4mil mark, but just not quite, although the boost in number of donations per hour is certainly helping. At this point in the campaign, I'm sure most people are pitching in as a form of pre-ordering, and to get a piece of some of the goodies.

I'm already in love with the lore and world they're creating, and obviously channeling the Infinity Engine games is a great way to win over my heart. I lurve BG2 to this day, and this game is shaping up to be a worthy spiritual successor. I love Bioware's games as well, but despite similar gameplay mechanics, I don't see them as being spiritual successors, not that that's a bad thing.

Can't wait to see more about this game as it develops.

It seems all I get for horror now is Dead Space, and that is going more and more action/adventure as well.

Not to derail the thread, but have you tried Amnesia? If not and your computer can run it, I'd recommend it. Not only does it have a base game, but fans have been using the mod tools to craft their own stories.

capcom sure knows how to render the female form.

On a similar note, I'm super duper impressed by the facial animations. They just feel so nuanced, more so than some other cutscene-heavy games I've played recently. I'm also glad they toned down Chris's beefiness, and Sherry is just all-around cute. I hope she shows up in future games.

Just lost my first squad member, and I didn't restart. I shouldn't be feeling this guilty over a game, but also maybe I shouldn't have named him after one of my friends.

*removes cap* He shall be missed.

Anywho, this game is big fun. Definitely one of those games I can dump hours into and never get bored.

I had my birthday party today. Here is my cake ^_^

OMG that cake is super adorable. My friend made a marzipan cow once for a friend's b-day, but those duckies blow that cow out of the water.

Also happy (early) birthday! I remember my 21st b-day; all that howling and ritual bloodletting. Good times, good times.

I am the worst at retaining ammunition, health, and swear words. I've had to have my ass rescued so many times that I'm pretty sure my characters are addicted to that shot you get stabbed with.

Anyways, fun game! I've done everyone's first two chapters. Leon & Helena's is my fav so far, followed closely by Jake & Sher-bear. Chris & Piers is last and probably will be my least favorite unless they kiss.

It's... kind of a mix.  There are times where Cabin's a straight up horror movie, and others where it's something else.  Scream is actually a better reference point than I initially thought it was - both movies look at the tropes of horror movies, sometimes by using them, sometimes by directly referencing how tropey they are.

Edit: I like this piece of trivia from IMDB:

Immediately after an early preview screening with fan Q&A, the first question Director Drew Goddard was asked was, "Will there be a sequel?" To which he responded,
"Have you seen the ending to my movie?"

Cabin is such a unique experience. Like you said, it is a real mix of both. It is both a meta-horror movie and a straight-up horror movie, pretty much concurrently. I mean,

The central plot of the movie revolves around the classic horror movie archetypes: Whore, Fool(Partyer), Athlete (Jock), Scholar (Nerd) and the Virgin (Final Girl). So many horror movies follow this same trope and, really, the only thing that changes is the monster. The repetition of the same scenario in itself is like a ritual, and the creators were clever enough to take this meta idea of archetypes and myth and craft a story around the mythology of horror movies, while still creating a horror movie.

The humor is pretty nice too, and the whole overall tone is decently light-hearted. I wouldn't call it a parody in any way, but the movie never takes itself too seriously.

I'm not too worried about this game. The demo was a lot of fun co-op, and I can't wait to get more of it. The story seems like the same bat-shit insanity that you shouldn't take too seriously, and I'm okay with that, cause at least it's entertaining. I'm not expecting RE2 or anything like that, I just want a fun game to play with some friends, and so far I haven't been disappointed with what I've seen.

Cabin in the Woods: Fucking fantastic. What a smart, funny movie that is such an obvious nod to horror tropes. Like Scream was for slashers back in the 90's, this does for the entire horror genre for this decade. The whole last 30 minutes was so epic. I bet this was an awesome movie to see in theaters.

Okay, those 32-bit costumes are the shit.

Uhoh.  Eat while you can, that stuff is gonna become a delicacy only for the rich and famous!!!

I'm one of the few people I know that thinks bacon is just okay. I don't hate, but I don't love it. Sometimes it's a bit too greasy for me. Because of this, I'm not too distraught over the looming bacpocalypse

Wow, that's the biggest dislike to like gap I've ever seen on a Youtube video with that many votes. Movie looks like absolute shit, and I legit thought it was a parody trailer made by CollegeHumor up until the end. If only that were the case. I'm not surprised by its existence though; the Christmas movie market is so supersaturated that it has been cannibalizing itself for a while now.

I'm currently writing a 1,500 word paper.  Which isn't much, but the topic is ludicrous that it's going to be 500 good and honest words, and the rest pure BS.

That's about how every single paper I ever wrote turned out. Usually I get worried about meeting the length requirements, so I include every inane BS thought I can so I don't have to worry about length, and then end up running up against the maximum page length and have to trim a bunch of shit out. If there is one thing I certainly learned in college, it was/is how to write a paper to sound like I know what I am talking about.

Speaking of, I better work on this paper! :D

Sakura Taisen 1&2 Compilation for PSP. GameFAQS has translation FAQs for most of both games content.

Aren't those on the HD collection?

No idea, I didn't even know there was an HD collection.
