Getting Mad Men from Netflix and one disc away from the end of the 1st Season. This show is crazy good. Favorite characters so far are Betty and Joan, although that may change in the coming seasons.

In between Mad Men discs I've been watching Xena, and its just awesome. Such an involving, silly show. And I want Lucy Lawless's pouting, dangerous Xena face on my tombstone when I die.

Didn't anyone here get this? I thought we had a ton of ME fans here?

I'll buy it at some point, probably not long before ME3 is released to refresh my memory. It was a great game, but the only DLC that really seemed worth making a priority was LotSB. Going back to a game just to play 1 or 2 hour snippets doesn't really interest me that much, so I'll be going through this, Overlord and the Kasumi DLC when the time comes.

Same here. I really have yet to see a DLC that makes me think "Oh, gotta get that now!" Cause by the time the DLC does roll around, I've already beaten the game and moved on.

TurnBasedDude's review practically just made it a must have for me - the games drawbacks aren't something I would consider a major flaw compared to other people and it's highlights are usually my favourite things about JRPGs.

This is the same for me. A rich character driven narrative? Yes please! And from the sounds of it, this game is long enough that by the time I'm done with it, I'll probably want a nice break, which will make the wait time between this one and the 2nd Chapter not so bad.

Neal's review is up

Having only read the pros/cons at the side... yeah, this should be pretty great. It'll have to wait on at least DQVI though.

Great review. It further cements my justification for having pre-ordered it. I cannot till Thursday to play it, since I'll probably take the night off from this mountain of school work and lay down in bed and game the fuck out till I can't game no more.

Edit: My copy has shipped and ETA is tomorrow :O. Of course, I'll have no time to play till Thursday, so I'll have to lust over it for a while. Our love is forbidden, but oh so sweet, mmm.

The Good:
The paper I needed to write for today got pushed back till Monday.

The Bad:
My procrastinating ass takes advantage of this and now I have to work on two papers this weekend plus reading and doing my FAFSA and helping bake for the upcoming bake sale for my organization.

The Ugly:
There's a weird yellow film on the bottom of my freezer.

I just preorded the Limited Edition.  I got a good feeling about this game so I have a feeling I'll regret it later if I don't get the LE.  I like Falcom and the fans have said a lot of good things about it so I have high hopes.

I'm the same way. Call me idealistic, but so far there's something about this game that kinda draws me to it, and I can't put my finger on exactly why. I know I don't wanna read about it because I want it all to be relatively new to me when I play.

I really like Suikoden IV's OP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgEy8MLu2_0

And I think Mass Effect's menu music sets the tone just right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuXOr1CcZsk
668  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Namco Bandai is teasing something (Tales of Graces F localization?) on: January 27, 2011, 04:09:43 PM
I didnt think Destiny 2 was a "big ticket" item to bring here, given the skeptical release of these games. Destiny R was the big one, and I heard (HEARD) that was an option for localization, but they instead went with Vesperia which came out around the same time.

I just Xillia by this point.  Anyone else not too keen on the Graces cast?  Especially appearance wise.  bleh... why the keep using Inomata for something other than a dating sim is beyond me.

While I definitely prefer Fujishima, I don't hate Inomata's design for Mira Maxwell. Outside of the "bangs," I like her big hair. And I agree about the Graces cast, I'm just not digging their looks. That being said, I will still probably buy Tales of Graces F if it comes out over here.

Found a really good series of NWN1 modules called "The Aielund Saga." It shows a quality of writing that the original campaign did not, and is mostly well-balanced. I also started playing Sakura Wars 2 again, and just finished the second chapter. Although Iris is probably my least favorite character, I liked her chapter better in the 1st than the 2nd, since it didn't really add much to her character this time around. I am liking the increased challenge during the battles.

I also lost points with Sumire cause she doesn't like puns.  D:

EDITED FOR BAD WRITING: I swear, every time I try to post on a forum my writing abilities plummet.

Band: Honduras national football team 2010

Album: We go very well together

I do like the album title, so its clear I'm the one responsible for choosing it. :P

It's Stan.

I could watch your avatar for hours, in a non-creepy, I-love-Monkey-Island way.

My avatar is Vanilla Beans from Steambot Chronicles. I chose it cause I liked the game a lot and like harmonicas. Vanilla Beans is also a cool guy, bro.

Started playing VtM:B again. Playing a Gangrel with the plus patch, and holy shit I forgot how fun this game is. It oozes atmosphere, and you just kinda get lost in this decadent little world Troika made. I'm still in Santa Monica, but seeing as I'm focusing on unarmed melee, and the Protean aspect kills so much for me, I've had to spend little money on blood/weapons, which means I'm pretty friggin' rich at the moment. Been a while since I've played, so I dunno if things'll change in that regard or not.
673  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Assholes whine about black guy cast in Thor movie on: December 21, 2010, 05:00:20 PM
Additionally if Ru Paul played Batman in the next Batman movie that would be incredible. I'm not even being sarcastic when I say that.

Oh god, I want this to happen. I would die instantly if it came true. My brain would shut-off from all the awesomeness.
674  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Shira Oka on: December 18, 2010, 12:25:12 AM
Not to come off fanboyish, but I didn't mind the art.

One thing that really upset me was (spoilers for the around the end of the 2nd year):

Kasumi committing suicide.

I understand that this unfortunately does happen in real life, but this game isn't trying to go for absolute realism, considering the whole premise. Up until that point the tone had been very lighthearted and cheerful, and even after the event the game's tone doesn't change at all. It just feels way to out of place, and didn't belong in the game if they weren't going to address the issue with clear focus and attention.

This thing will be FREE (if they ever finish it)

I can't wait for it. I didn't play the demo cause I wanna have it all be fresh by the time it comes out. And judging from the screens I've seen so far it has some of the best artwork I've seen for an indie game.
675  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Shira Oka on: December 14, 2010, 07:36:40 PM
Personally I don't think $25 is that outrageous, especially given that most of the other western-developed indie dating sim games fall around $20. I didn't mind paying for it, since I've been anticipating it for a while.
