Yeah, I've never played the first Persona so I want to experience the dungeon crawling the way it was meant to be; in first person.
Same here. Now there are like 5 games on the PSP that I'm interested in. Time to get a PSP!

EOII - The boss of the 3rd stratum proved to be quite a challenge. It kept killing my Medic and then proceeding to wipe out the rest of my party. I only took it down after like five tries. Would have been easier if I could just finish it off with Climax, but it isn't affected by it.
I'm now on floor 18th of the 4th stratum. The battle theme changed to a more dramatic one, though I still prefer the first one. I don't know if I'm underleveled or if monsters have high defense, because only my Gunner is doing decent damage. The monsters keep poisoning/paralyzing/confusing my party members, which is giving my poor Medic a lot or work. She keeps running out of TP even though she has like 200+ of it.
I also got a key to open the sealed doors. Opened the door in floor 2 and almost got killed by a duo of mole monsters. :P

I'll need to get through both EO games myself, but I have a suspicion that people are associating "plot" with lots of cutscenes and characters that the writers made rather than blank slates you make. I've seen statements by the localization team about how there really is a story in EO, and I've seen 'plotless' statements made about Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne in contrast to Digital Devil Saga, when really it has fewer, but denser cutscenes.
Indeed, lack of cutscenes =/= lack of plot. It's a shame most people (at least that I know) think otherwise. Back on topic Okami - Poor Amaterasu, seems everyone wants a ride. First it was that sake girl, then that other girl from the city and now it's Issun. Being a god is surely a tough job. After my adventures in the sunken ship I finally entered the castle.

I like fanboys. They give out good entertainment and I love reading fanboys argue over the internet.
Agreed. Fanboys are an interesting race indeed. This. FFVII on the 360 will be the apocalypse (for the fanboys, that is).

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that there are so many people on other sites clamoring for this to be an announcement for Persona 5?
Nope, I agree with giving a break to the Persona series. I won't deny that P4 was a great game, it was. However it didn't have that "freshness" that P3 had.

That said, it is my opinion that every respectable gamer should own a DS.
QFT. I bought my DS mainly to play the DQ remakes, but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of quality games on the system. Besides that, being able to play the GBA titles is always a nice addition. When I bought the PS2 I just had (the first) Kingdom Hearts and DQ8 in mind. Though I'm not much a fan of KH anymore, I'm still glad I didn't pass the PS2 like I did with its predecessor; the PS2 is the system that got me back to the console world.

Digged up DQI&II, currently playing DQI. Saved the princess and got the Shiny Harp. Since I don't remember where I'm supposed to go, I just kept roaming throught the fields until I got killed by a random monster.
Okami: Hands down the best cel-shading I've seen on the PS2, plus it has an excellent gameplay to back it up. The characters are all very likeable, specially Issun; he is such a little smartass, love him. Took a while to get used to the brush controls, though I still have some trouble drawing circles. I finally understand why so many people were saddened when Clover Studios disbanded... Did a few side-quests and I'm now on my wait to the city.

And no, tears of boredom from playing Final Fantasy XII doesn't count.
Oh. :( Well, the ending of the first Kingdom Hearts really got me. Sora did save everyone, yet his deepest wish, to reunite with his friends, wasn't fulfilled. Worse, everyone got separated again after a brief meeting. And then Simple and Clean starts playing... one of my favorites endings, for sure. Shame SE killed my interest in the series after KH2.

does anyone think this game isn't as good as persona 3? for me persona 3 grabbed my attention early and never really let go. so when the cheap instant kill deaths came i wanted to keep playing. however the plot in p4 is taking FOREVER to get interesting, so when the cheap death came in that sauna dungeon i was all like fuck this i'm going back to eternal poison and havn't booted up p4 since 12/27.
I thought the same thing (and still do). P4 only picked up my interest when the game reached September, while P3 had my attention right from the beggining. In regards to the S-Links, I have to agree that most of them were inferior in comparison to the ones in P3, the exceptions being Naoto, Yukiko, the Dojimas, the nurse and the old lady. Kanji's was a letdown... I expected him to be more Shinjiro-like. Rise just hit a new level in the annoyance spectrum, Yosuke in a close 2nd place.
