I might pick it up after my exams. Unlike Parn, I'm having an absolute blast with New Vegas although it should be said that I'm 14 hours in and have only had one glitch where an enemy started skywalking and two freezes.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

It's not for everyone though...

How old is your TV? I had a similar problem with Demon's Souls. Since Demon's Souls was NTSC-U, it ran fine on my PAL PS3 (since all PS3 games are region free), but because I was using an old SDTV that was PAL only, everything was black and white. The game ran fine on my HDTV which was obviously new enough to support both PAL and NTSC inputs.

Are you in America? Perhaps your TV doesn't support PAL inputs.

I think I logged over 400 hours on 2ndG. That was before my PSP died so I will definitely pick this up when it comes out here.

Gotta say though, I enjoyed 2ndG more than I enjoyed Demon's Souls.

Anyone waiting for this? The demo was alright as long as you aren't expecting the game to play like Chaos Theory (this has more "Jack Bauer stealth").

A couple of reviews are up:

IGN AU

Game Informer gave it a 9/10 I believe.

I wonder if being outside the US causes any issues with the online component.

Never done PvP in Demon's Souls, but I have done co-op once or twice, and it seems to work alright. It's always been rare for me to find someone though.
I have never had a problem with co-op either (It never seems to lag which is a relief). What soul level are you by the way?

I used to be in my 30's or 40's, until I got the YLOD. I haven't really bothered to play it much now that I have my PS3 fixed, because it's just so time consuming.
That's probably why you aren't seeing many people. I seem to get invaded on a regular basis at SL70.

It doesn't really mess with anything. I ordered the US version in Australia and I can still do everything fine, but PvP lags a fair bit (people seem to be able to hit you with weapons from a mile away).
9  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: flOw is currently free on the PS Store. on: February 13, 2010, 01:06:56 PM
Often times these deals are only for Gold members. Is this the case here as well? I'll check it out later, but I only have a Silver membership.

LOL. US only though, even if you log in with an american account it will detect your IP. They better be preparing something similar for europe.
Yeah, it sucks. Still full price down under.

11  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Episodes From Libery City coming to PS3 on: January 29, 2010, 04:54:32 AM
This, of course, is assuming all those games will be good, remain exclusive, or even come out this year, a casual glance reveals all three broken as long as you factor in PCs for multiplatform . With that said, last year may've just been bad for the 360, it was certainly its weakest since the launch season.

I don't usually factor PC in, but if you do, then I suppose you are right and most of those games are multiplats. As for the "will they be any good?" part, with the exception of N3 II, KUFII and venetica I think we can assume the rest will be good. Just because the first N3 game was crap doesn't mean the sequel will be bad (just look at killzone 1&2).

on an unrelated topic, DS looks like it has a very promising line-up this year.

Well, doesn't that figure? So that leaves... ODST as last year's most significant 360 exclusive that wasn't an Arcade game? Though that WAS one of the better Halo titles so that isn't so bad.

This is why I'm thinking more and more that you'll be fine getting the PS3 over the 360, the PS3's getting quite a few exclusives worth a damn these days rather than crap like Lair and Haze, and Microsoft seems content to sit back and let the third parties make games, which won't be enough in this generation.
ODST was the best halo game since combat evolved.

But really people, this year should be good for every platform:

360
    * Alan Wake
    * Crackdown
    * Fable 3
    * Halo Reach
    * Mass Effect 2
    * Metro 2033
    * Splinter Cell: Conviction
    * Risen
    * Ninety Nine Nights 2
    * Kingdom Under Fire II
    * Venetica

PS3
    * Gran Turismo 5
    * Final Fantasy XIV
    * God of War III
    * Heavy Rain
    * Last Rebellion
    * M.A.G. (Beta wasn't great though)
    * ModNation Racer
    * The Agency
    * The Last Guardian
    * Yakuza 3
    * White Knight Chronicles International Edition

Wii
    * No More Heroes 2
    * Super Mario Galaxy 2
    * Arc Rise Fantasia
    * Rumoured New Zelda
    * Tales of Graces
    * Metroid Other M
    * Monster Hunter Tri
    * Sin and Punishment 2
    * Red Steel 2
    * The Grinder
    * Gladiator A.D
    * Trauma Team

DS
    * Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
    * Again: Eye of Providence
    * The Another World
    * Dragon Quest VI
    * Dementium 2
    * Dragon Quest IX
    * Final Fantasy Gaiden: Four Warriors of Light
    * Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal
    * Ghost Trick
    * Golden Sun DS
    * Infinite Space
    * Last Window: Midnight Promise
    * Okami Chronicles: Tiny Sun
    * Pokemon HeartGold/Soul Silver
    * Project Monster
    * Shantae: Risky's Revenge
    * Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
    * WarioWare: D.I.Y.

PSP
    * Metal gear solid: Peace Walker
(Thats all I can think of off the top of my head)

And we haven't even seen what is yet to be announced at E3 :)

I'm sticking to my DS lite. I'm too broke to upgrade anyway...

Home is a pretty neat place to troll now and then.
That and playing chess once in a while -_-

Remember that games in America cost $60. That converts to $65AUD. In Australia we pay around $90~$100 for games.
