I completely meant that list as a joke, btw... I totally understand the need for social networking sites for most people. It's just not for me. Friends, I can call on the phone, send an email or IM. Potential business, I can direct to www.ericbarker.com.

It's also a hell of a lot easier to get connected through something used by a couple million people than it is some random podunk site you start.

Dude, "the web" is used by almost a billion people. No easier searching for me on myspace or twitter than on google. But I don't really expect people to search for me yet anyways: I have business cards, I show up at social gatherings, I get my name out there.

Off topic: Primer I took a listen to some of your tracks hosted and really enjoyed them. I liked the Seven Levels compilation a lot as well, it was actually quite a pleasure to listen while working. Still off topic, but what is your line of work? I see you've done commercial spots and the such, though I'm a bit curious.

1067  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Music Software Help on: May 10, 2009, 08:45:29 PM
Recently I picked up a new laptop specifically for Music. I'm pretty torn on what music programs there are out there to pick up to start putting compositions to Higher Quality instruments.

Right now I'm looking at

EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Sample Collection Software - Silver Complete
or
Garritan Personal Orchestra Second Edition

I'm looking for orchestral instruments and a price range from $150-$250 + Tax

Any ideas or other recommendations? Thanks!

I bought this two days Ago: Burgundy Laptop
Right now it's the most heavenly thing I've ever been on.

But enough about myself.

Honestly, just get her a netbook. Check them out on the link in the post above.

Puzzle Quest? Didn't have the pleasure of playing Professor Layton yet, but I know the music is awesome (Fan of Dark Cloud 2's soundtrack here).

Nothing really sticks out....

I'll go with Etrian Odyssey as well for now. I've yet to play the second one, so it could switch to the second game easily.

We all know how much I love getting my still beating heart handed to me when I encounter a FOE with less than full life at the beginning of the game.
1071  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: SPECIAL REQUEST for people who have beaten Izuna or Izuna 2 on: May 10, 2009, 04:56:38 PM
I'm playing through the first one right now and nearing the end I believe. I'll let you know as soon as I finish, unless someone else beats me to the punch. I'll probably play the second if my time is right, but don't bet on it... I'll leave that for next semester.

Really having that hard a problem? I would believe it, it took me a while one time to find a composer for a soundtrack after I totally botched it and had a hard core fan of the game correct me.

Here's mine.

Found out about UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra through twitter, so can't really complain too much. :-p

FFVII also killed John Kennedy.

John F. Kennedy.

It also:

-Sunk the titanic
-Killed Jesus
-Trapped R Kelly in the closet

Damn you FF7!

FFVII killed my father and raped my mother! ;_;

... and stole my bike.

Would be nice to have diagonal movement. That would just be revolutionary for the franchise.
