Actually, despite lengthy-ish talks I don't think you're ever actually forced to play TWEWY for 30 minutes or more minutes straight. Even if that were the case though, it's set up so you can easily enjoy yourself for a few minutes before saving and shutting down. It almost promotes this actually by rewarding you EXP for your skills while the system's off (not asleep), but with diminishing returns for each successive day its left unplayed until a week passes.

Wait, what?

Other note:
I bought Izuna 2 today. I'm leaving it in it's shrink wrap until September when classes start up again. Still leave refereals, I'm going to pick up some more as time passes.

Ramza I looked up Shiren and it looks fun, that's the next game I'll pick up during the summer after I pick up Twin Age. Speaking of Izuna from before, should I pick up the first one if I find it?

Lol, wut?
1278  Media / The Soundroom / Re: Final Fantasy Piano Collections? on: May 02, 2009, 12:20:16 AM
Wild Armor - are you referring to the Piano Collection arrangements, or the OST transcriptions from DoReMi? Because the former is awesome, and the latter is pure shit.

I'll have to find it, I don't know what OST transcriptions from DoReMi you are talking about, I believe it could have been a fan arrangement that I accepted as tolerable.... or not. Speaking of which, I've never played Eternal harvest but it must be really fun to play. :)

Wow, now that I think about it... It's been a while since I played game songs on the piano. I remember playing "Frog's Theme" for my audition into the B.A. in music... yeah that was weird with its side of fun. Reading all this stuff bring backs memories of me playing all those game songs on the piano in High School. Bad times, bad times. Hahaha. Maybe that's why I have a distaste for piano arrangements for Final Fantasy games?

Thanks for the referrals everyone.

I'll look into Izuna and Shinen. I'm a fan of rouge type games, so I may like these two.

Summon Night Twin Age is hard to find around here, but that originally was my first choice. Discontinued too, so I don't expect them here any time soon.

I'll pass on TWEWY.

1281  Media / Single-Player RPGs / DS RPG Referrals? on: April 30, 2009, 12:32:37 AM
I'm looking for an RPG to play on the DS at college for next semester. I don't have enough time to do anything for long, so it would be nice to enjoy some 30 minute RPG gaming until my next class. Any recommendations for this hopeful chap?

Restrictions
- No Final Fantasy games or Chrono Trigger
- No Strategy RPG, I have enough on standby

Other than that... I'm pretty open to anything. Thanks for reading and hopefully replying. :)

Tits.
1283  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy X or XII? on: April 30, 2009, 12:20:56 AM
Op, just play Final Fantasy X. At least then you don't have to anxiously avoid a dinosaur in the dessert at the beginning like in FFXII.

Question for anyone: Vaan, was this kid dirty all the time or did he have an awkward tan? He looked like he just had dirt on him all the time. I felt like I was playing as a bum the whole game.

Just give me my spunky main hero character, he's just going to show up in another RPG with a different wardrobe and hair color anyways.
1285  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The youthful protagonists thread on: April 29, 2009, 01:06:57 AM
You can always play God Of War.... wait... thatīs not rpg... but uhmm... the protagonist kick ass!!

Western games arguably have another problem entirely - the bald space marine - but at least it makes a lot of sense for someone like that to be the one dealing with the world/universe threatening enemies.

Two can play at that game.

That still hasn't gotten old. Now time to not forget to save this for future reference for "Originality"

After seeing those screens.... hrm. We'll see how things progress later on. It comes out in September, so there's still time to convince me.

Haha. Thanks for that penny arcade comic, I haven't read them for a while.

I actually find myself do that sometimes. I only do it if it's like some romance scene. I don't really need to see/hear that, I'm playing an rpg, but then it hit's me that I am playing a JRPG. You can't escape those romance scenes. Thank God for the scene skip function in some generous games.

Leon was good when he got his later moves. I always got Ashton on my runs because he's a good character. I remember playing the game on Rena's path and getting all the other optional characters like Earnest and Opera.

I remember passing a lot of sidequests in Star Ocean 2, like an early one with Ashton and such. I was an impatient kid when I was young, skip the talk and right to the action. I don't really do that anymore so I don't miss things. I sometimes almost become paranoid now if I don't get the most out of a playthorugh if alll of it isn't possible.

I want to play Star Ocean 2 now :(. Can't wait for exams to be done so I can play the PS version again. :) Am I missing anything on the psp remake? I might look into getting it just for the small things like cutscenes.
