Can't wait for shredding on them ... claws?

I own the original, but that doesn't really entitle anything. I played for about 30 minutes and archived it under my "I'll play this when I have free time" shelf. It's a cute game, I'll give it that at least. Buy the game used if you plan on getting it on the DS, or pick it up for a good cheap bid on ebay for the PS version.

46 thousand worth of erotic magnga art? Bah, I expected more.

Watched it on opening day, so the only thing I can advise you if you do wish to see it is go smashed. Same effect if going sober.

If "Hideo Kojima" name is all over the the intro and ending cutscenes, and I mean ALL over the place, I would be down. I could never get enough of reading "Hideo Kojima" when I was playing Metal Gear Solid.

Definite yes to ZoE3, btw.

Yeah, it's just sales lingo in that example.  If you notice, that's a letter from XSEED, not IGN's own words.

Yeah I noticed when I went to go through it, my mistake. I'm just curious what world they are going to spam next, "timeless" is already out of the picture.

Ok, back on topic.

From what I've read in interviews, FF13 will allow you to control one character at a time but you can switch between characters as you want. That tends to be how Action RPGs like Rogue Galaxy work. In fact, FF13 looks like an action rpg that just uses menus to allow you to quickly switch up combos. I rather like it a lot.

Not to mention the music is fantasic.

From the music I have heard, it really is great. I only hope that the speed of all the characters remain the same as you shuffle through them. I haven't played much new games lately, but I remember hating switching between characters years ago because one character was ridiculous fast and one was slow as molasses. FFXII did a "good" job with the speed, but I still didn't like the automated gameplay. :-p
1283  Media / Single-Player RPGs / What makes RPGs [an] Epic? on: April 20, 2009, 10:15:42 PM
What characteristic of an RPG dignifies if it is an epic or not? This crossed my mind when I was reading an article linked over in the Xseed Lost Muramasa Publishing Rights Thread. I'll just post it below so you don't have to go to the site. It's from IGN if you haven't read the other thread.

April 20, 2009 - Fans eagerly awaiting the American release of Muramasa: The Demon Blade should keep their eyes peeled for some new publishing news in the near future. First, IGN has learned that XSEED Games, formerly set to debut the title stateside, will no longer be handling distribution. The company released a statement to IGN confirming this news this morning.

XSEED Games confirms that it is no longer involved with the North American release of Muramasa: The Demon Blade. XSEED Games and Marvelous had previously announced the game as part of the initial line up between the two publishing partners. We firmly believe in the product and will look forward to seeing it release in North America. We enjoy and respect our relationship with Marvelous, and are committed to working together to deliver an amazing line up of games in the US including the highly anticipated Little King's Story, the epic RPG Arc Rise Fantasia and Suda51's intriguing mystery adventure Flower, Sun, Rain.

I'm not so much questioning the game's status of being "Epic" or IGN's choice of word there, rather I just want to know what you think makes a game an "Epic"? I see the word "Epic" everywhere way too much and I'm beginning to lose respect for the word.

Really entertaining to watch, but I'm pretty sure that must have cost a bit to have 1300 pictures developed, or the buying all the materials to develop his own.

Fun anyways.

What's worse than a $100,000 horse dying at a polo match?

A $100,000 horse dying at a polo match and then collapsing on a small child.

As serious a matter as that is, it just sounds funny no matter how much I read that statement.

Growlanser II: Enjoyed giving me the option of overthrowing the kingdom I so respectfully fight and defend. Always been a fan of overthrowing my own kingdoms. :)

Wild Arms II: Enjoyed the music and enjoyed the puzzles.

Grandia: The music if anything. Amazing.

Final Fantasy Tactics: first game I ever clocked over 100+ hours on. I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed of that achievement.

Final Fantasy VI: I liked the cast of characters.

Chrono Cross: Lol, run away from boss battles? What silliness. Enjoyed the game, not so much the number of characters obtainable. Too much.

Magna Carta: I'm lying through my teeth about this game.

Summon Night 1 & 2: Nice story and weapon system.

Eternal Sonata: Game about my favorite pianist and some of the songs were very nicely done, especially one that was Chopin's piano pieces arranged with orchestra. That was cool. Can't wait to give my lecture on him this week or next.

Secret Of Mana: Good game.

Suikoden III: I liked the story and enjoyed the game, especially scouting all the characters later on. Looking to pick it up again for another run. Good times, good times.

Tales of Eternia: It was fun and I enjoyed the battles.

Tales of Vesperia: It's like an empty, but beautiful girl. easy on the eyes and not so much in the content.

There is definitely more games, but this will do for now.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeh,

I'll possibly give it a go during the summer. I like giving indie rpgs a try every now and then. Who knows, I might actually not stop 1 hour into the game.

Haha, lol wut?

That's all I can say about that. It was entertaining at least.
