Have you ever thought of starting your own WordPress-generated blog page to post these ... reviews? rants? I don't know what to call them, but you put them out on a semi-regular basis.

Double Ditto.

Happy Anniversary.

The only thing that happened if I can recall, was that someone thought it was funny to block the passage of oxygen to my brain by wrapping his arm around my neck. The kid was one of those ridiculous tall jacked kids with no concern for others and that went around hitting people for no real reason, but I think he was a tad slow as well so I'm not sure what to make of that...Uhh, well all I can remember was that after a few seconds of that, all I remembered was me on the floor and someone telling me I was out for a moment. I never experienced being unconscious, so it was new. The kid never walked by again. Ok?
1281  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Rune Factory 3 on: July 18, 2009, 12:11:32 AM
I may check it out, Ive been meaning to check out 1 and 2 but never got around to it.  Wonder how many fixes and additions this one will have...I would like some different graphics though..the screens dont look all that impressive in 1 and 2, and 3 looks to be more of the same, still, we shall see.

I'm not a fan of the blockiness, and I'm assuming that it's going to stay. I'd like to see a bit more life in this set of characters this time around. I think the only Girl I found entertaining from the 2 DS ones was Julia from RF2. I think she's the only one with a ridiculous face portrait. They need that more, for everyone, and more than the same 2 dialog of text every time you talk to someone. It changes once the likeness goes up bye 1, but come on now...

Everytime I enter this thread, I have to look at Losfer's first post.

Thanks Losfer, sometimes this is enough to persuade me to buy a game, this game being one of them.

Late as heck, but thanks.

Buying the PSP Bundle, so this is win news for me.

Screen 1

Late post is Late, but I thought it would be relevant to anyone's interest. I've gone through the other three, so I'm excited about the game. Anyone else enjoyed the others?

Yeah, that movie was ridiculous.

The only funny parts was seeing everyone's expressions/reactions whenever Bruno was doing something insane.
1285  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: How long is looooooooooooooong? on: July 13, 2009, 10:13:18 PM
Nope, my RPGS need to last only 30 seconds long, and we all know what game covers that.

Seriously: 20-40 hours. I don't have time to fetch material to make an item to get an item for a person who will give me an item to make another item to get another and so on. Cut all that stuff out, give me a game I can play and enjoy. Secret characters and endings? I don't want to hear it, especially if the characters are squeaky voiced/twins or the endings is even more anticlimactic. If the ending shows the Deathstar exploding at the end of the game, I'll play 100 hours.
1286  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Worst. Ending. Ever. on: July 13, 2009, 10:05:40 PM
Suikoden V - standard ending:

Something inside of me died that day. You have to get all 108 Stars of Destiny to get the good ending, and the standard ending is really really sad. Even with a guide, I ended up missing star one due to an error in the game (the guy who got turned into a tiger and the little girl suddenly are nowhere to be found after a certain point, even though they are supposed to be findable throughout the game), and the fact that your characters can perminantly die during the tactical battles (though rare)... it's almost like the creators didn't want the player to win.

So, after 100+ hours of shear joy and wonder:

Lyon, the girl who's been your confidant, protector mouthpiece, and even suggested romantic interest... DIES without warning. And the game ends in mourning.

Now, I can understand this for a bad ending, or an ending in which the good ending is really easy to achieve, but collecting all 108 stars is no easy feat, and many are missable after certain points. I remember reading the guide for some of them and thinking, "now, how in the hell would I have known to check this spot to find this guy?"

To say the least, I was misserable for the next few days.

I'm playing through this game right now and well aware of that ending. I'm trying in all my power not to achieve it. I'm pretty sure I can without much difficulty, I mean I got all 108 starts from Suikoden 3 without Game Faqs just fine. I believe it's another chapter unlocked playing as the bad guys was it, and I remember it being so damn worth taking my time ot find them all.

I didn't know my characters could permanently die?! What the heck? I haven't had it happen, but I'm used to the war missions already.

relevant to this topic: Eternal Sonata and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. FFMQ was just too chipper, I half expected everyone to do a dance number in the end.

1288  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Square Enix Game on: July 10, 2009, 09:35:40 PM
The game actually reminds me of what Animal Crossing and The Wind Waker would like like mashed together a bit. I liked that title theme on the main site, I want more of that now.
