Playing this in English is nothing short of surreal.

Trying to convince my GF to buy Soul Hackers, but she only likes RPGs in medieval settings. Boooooo.

I don't think Soul Hackers is the best way to ease her in, a lot of the settings are grimy and gross and suffer from a generally crap colour palette.

Game is interesting so far.  And kinda tough.  Major kudos to the amount of voiced work, but also the amount of "portrait-worthy" NPCs (i.e.; all of them).

Not 100% sure if this game is my thing (I'm not as big a SMT-fan in general, but I do appreciate the hell outta them though), but it is keeping my attention.

Yeah, SH gives all the NPCs some love.

I hope I'm not jumping the gun, but the early impressions have been very good, which gives me hope this will actually, gasp, sell.

Some places have broken street date. I hate them all. :(

Monday night for me, GameStop has midnight release.

The clan/Atma symbols from DDS are a great choice, they're very iconic but subtle.

(You can see it by her collar bone.)

great suggestions guys!
And lastly.... I'm not even kidding about the tattoo... anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

the pressturn icon.  Something iconic definitely.  cj_iwakura would probably have good ideas.

That is precisely the direction I am thinking. I just haven't arrived at "the one" yet...

Well, I'll steal this from another thread...

And suggest you do something similar, but with Mara.

I don't have the arm space left for that-LoL

And Mara....? Seriously?? Isn't/wasn't mara the blob-like thing in Nocturne?.... That would be a tattoo I would love to do and throw in my portfolio but I don't think I would want to wear that one...LoL

I'm not fond of tattoos, so I'm the wrong person to ask. Obviousness of the permanency aside, it also puts ink into your bloodstream. That doesn't sit well with me.

Unless someone is tattooing waaaaaay wrong no ink gets in your blood. You would have to go sub-dermal for that to happen. The pigment is left in the third to fifth layers of the skin. Now the liquid which remains does leave your body via plasma and blood but is comprised of safer substances in regard to your body than crap most people eat on a daily basis. Mind you that is taking for granted you are getting tattooed by a responsible artist. There are PLENTY of risks involved if proper practices are not adhered to, equipment or ink is of poor quality, or plain and simple (the scariest scenario of all) the artist is just an idiot and working somewhere without regulation.

As for the permanence, well I actually hear you on that note... Although I'm a tattoo artist, for years I didn't have many tattoos at all. Now after doing it for nearly a decade I just see things differently. There is nothing I can't cover-up and removal is such an accessible option they don't even really seem permanent to me any longer.

Tattoos have just become a matter of fun for me. I don't take them seriously unless they are on my clients-LoL

Soooooo, with that said, lets forget I'm asking about tattoos here and let me just ask you what you feel is some of the most iconic imagery from the SMT franchise.....

Well in that case, go minimalist, not something tacky looking like that One Piece thing.

Also, I recorded some of OG Soul Hackers the other day(as well as Devil Summoner 1/Raidou 2) if there's any interest.

"New Soul Hacker screens!" :D

"Clips from the OP you've seen a dozen times!" :(

Expected more dialogue.

Ah well, only four days.

EP was definitely a much better game, however, EP is close enough to IS that you might get burnt out. It doesn't really play differently but it's much better balanced, especially wrt card getting iirc.
The tone is wildly different. In IS, you play as mostly teenagers. EP, mostly adults, and events change to match.

Go right into it. You'll see why immediately. They flow beautifully together, and EP is twice as good.

Truly an unforgettable experience, the endgame had my jaw on the floor. Best FPS since F.E.A.R., easy.

My post was supposed to say copyright issues (restrictions that is). Not issued. Meaning yeah, they probably couldn't copyright it in those areas and not release the game there. :P

And yes, I know I can still get it. It's just inconvenient/kind of harder to get. I've never messed around with more than one PSN account either.

It's a great idea if you have an interest in importing, getting free JP demos of stuff that will never get localized is a cinch.

Yeah, exactly. I doubt you'll have a hard time getting around this.

Looking at how IS remake made me feel, I really hope SH doesn't have a retarded encounter rate.

SH handles it really well. It has a color meter like SJ. If the meter is red, you're in an area with stronger enemies and can't avoid them.

If it's green, Estoma lets you negate them entirely(ALWAYS have a demon with Estoma in short).

Most of the present company is excluded, but when I went onto several forums essentially saying "hey I really liked Persona 3 and 4; what other SMT games are worth trying?" I got laughed out of the room.  It made me less inclined to try Nocturne or Innocent Sin (the ones I was looking at hardest) and I ended up just doing a New Game+ of Persona 4 instead.  And I promise I'm not a "waifu" kind of person.

That's unfortunate, but the alternate is you'll get people like me telling you to play them all. :P My favorite is Nocturne, but it's extremely unforgiving and minimalist, pretty much the complete opposite of P3/P4.
(And don't get me wrong, I love P3 and P4, they're just far from the best Atlus has to offer, and they're becoming my least favorite of the PS2 era SMTs.)
