Firmly in the 'Kanji is straight' camp here. Some people think Chie and Yukiko have a thing, but I never saw that.

Better have 60 free hours if you want to finish Odin Sphere. Dang that's a LONG game.

He was blushing.

God, I have a horrible idea about what that could mean.

Lest it goes overlooked: Katherine is voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi.

That would be Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino's VA, among many others.

Parasite Eve has always been pretty blatant on the fan service. Have you seen Nomura's original art for Aya?

Seconding Demi-Fiend. Who needs weapons? Bare-handed.

Ashley Riot can be honorable mention.

He is the reinforcements.

Small comment about Lunar 2: the two bathing scenes weren't in the Sega CD original. There was just one, where she freaked out.

Yeah. And the Sega CD Lunar 2 wasn't a game of the past decade. We were talking about...

The added bathing scene early in the game was an excellent directorial decision. Hey, one more reason it's in the top 20! :)

I had a feeling they added it for a different reason. :P

Lunar 2's still a great game, I just prefer the original.

I remember DDS1's vocal track being pretty cool although that was written by Americans. In America.

Japanese DDS1 didn't use the same vocal track if I recall. Still I preferred that style over DDS2's.

DDS1 J used Sera's theme, with vocals. It's a lot slower and darker.

I preferred Danger(the US opening).

What WAS written by Atlus USA for the Japanese version was Persona 4's opening, and it was all the better for it.

Pretty much. I see SJ as a side-story game, like If.

A good game in its own right, but not a numbered title.

By the way, I've beaten the Demi Fiend.

Preparing and attempting took longer than beating some RPGs. No joke, I'm thinking I spent somewhere around 15 hours on that monster.

My wall of shame:

1. Magna Carta: Tears of Blood
2. Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure [DS Remake]
3. Lunar: Dragon Song

I look at this game being about the consequences of letting your desires drive your actions.

Some people are quick to write this off as an eroge, but that's just appearances.

Kind of stunned you guys haven't played Nocturne. It is THE best RPG on the PS2, IMO.

There's nothing quite like it, and there never will be.

Digital Devil Saga is a fine alternative, though I prefer Nocturne for many reasons, part of which is the minimalist style. You wouldn't think it has much plot at a glance; but it rewards reading between the lines and exploring the meanings behind the sparse dialogue.

People don't like the DDS2 opening? I love it. It hits all the right chords.

And on my replays, I found I liked DDS1 more than 2. Something about the atmosphere.

Since we're sharing music...

DDS1's town musics were amazing.
