Well, we just upgraded the legion to rank 3 which allows us to customize our logo and increases our potential members to 90. I just kicked about 30 inactive members who didn't last past the free month so we could definitely use some good, reliable players. The game itself is going well, still a problem with bots, but that's an ongoing ban process for NCSoft. There's a big patch coming down the pipe this month that will be fixing alot of the xp issues people have been complaining of. I'm really enamored with the game, despite some of its flaws. Sadly, the difficulty is something alot of people can't stand and went screaming back to WoW. The PvE content isn't as refined as raids you might be used to, but the RvR is nuts. To each his own I guess.

Ok, the free month included with the retail package is over, and i'm being told several people have gone back to WoW without saying so much as "goodbye." Those of you who are in legion, who don't plan on playing anymore, please let me know here or via the Obsidian forums - hell even the shoutbox works, so I can free up some much needed legion space. Those who are interested in playing, we're still accepting new players - preferably level 25 or higher, but we're flexible if your old school RPGFan. The botting issue is slowly being resolved, and the queues are non-existent now. The server population is actually pretty solid now, so no worries about a Warhammer-style exodus of players.

Anyway, those interested in playing the game, hit me up here, on our forums http://obsidian.guildomatic.com/ or in-game on Arliman.

Well the last few days have been hella nasty with server crashes on the whole, but the player shop fix really helped the queue alot. Its amazing how fast people are leveling. Finally got into the Abyss yesterday, still waiting on the other legion members to catch up so we can do the first instanced dungeon out there. No forts have been taken yet, but the Rift warfare has been nutty. I think you should be able to make Asmo's on the server now. We might be hopping to the new East server once they allow free transfers, but to be honest, the crowding has gotten ALOT better. I just wish they would deal with all the rampant botting going on.

excuses excuses. I'll upgrade your board status before I leave for work so you can nab the vent info and look over some of the seige guides I wrote. headstart begins Sun at noon PST. I'll be there leading the charge. Alot of the Solaris folks will be playing WoW concurrently, so its not a problem.

Dude, how I miss "Uma's got nuthin on this!" *crazy dance emote*

Your ass better pick up the game and upgrade to the CE edition. Hell, you should still register on the forums so we can shoot the shit. I put up alot of concept art from the game you'll absolutely DIE over. Still have alot more on the HDD, but I've been getting ready for launch. Do it DOOOO IT!

She's still a work in progress but here's the webportal, http://obsidian.guildomatic.com/. Feel free to poke around and give feedback. Still alot of fine tuning remains but it should be completely functional by head start on Sunday.
908  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / AION Retail Plans on: September 10, 2009, 05:15:11 PM
Thought i'd start a new thread since the old one was getting a little long in the tooth.

Ok, so we have a group of us who will be playing Aion come launch, MOST of us have pre-ordered and have head start access beginning on Sunday Sept 20th. We're going to be on Azphel server at retail, which is an East Coast designated server for Fortress siege times. We'll probably be under the Solaris banner again (for the 4th time) but that's still up for discussion.

If there's anyone interested in joining us please let us know via this thread. Currently we have 14 people confirmed for the Legion, but we could certainly use a couple more - no restrictions on classes currently, but we will be designating officers early for crafting mastery.  I need to talk to our current WoW GM to see if we want to integrate into the Solaris of Uldum webportal and vent or do another one entirely. Will keep you posted, but we will have legion forum and ventrilo available at launch. The goal is to have a casual, semi-hardcore environment that is focused on member support and completion of in-game milestones. We have zero tolerance for QQ and people who are too lazy to read or research the obvious. We aim to be helpful but don't expect any hand-holding. AION is a pretty rough RvR experience, so if you might have issues with ragequit because of getting chain ganked, look elsewhere.

Open beta keys are now available for free FilePlanet Subscribers, subscription requirement has been lifted.
910  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Aion discussion plus Q&A on: September 07, 2009, 09:29:05 AM
Correction, server is Vaizel. I was under the assumption the retail servers would be the open beta servers also (confirmed as named after the 12 Emyprean Lords). We're Asmo-side, name of Belatrix.
911  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Aion discussion plus Q&A on: September 05, 2009, 06:35:06 PM
Aion open beta starts tomorrow at 9am PST. Remember keys are limited to those who pre-ordered or are FilePlanet subcribers. We're going to be on Asmodian side, Azphel server most likely.
912  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Aion discussion plus Q&A on: September 01, 2009, 09:32:51 AM
This is a public service announcement..

Fileplanet is giving away open beta keys for Aion today. The page hasn't been updated yet but it will be sometime this morning. These keys are for free accounts as well as paid accounts (paid accounts are guaranteed keys) and will probably go very quickly. If you've already preordered the game, your closed beta access automatically gets you into open beta. Open beta will be version 1.5 which is the retail version! http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/aion/ Bookmark and refresh!

I hope to see a few more folks from our forums on Atreia!

EDIT- Apparently IGN is a bunch of money whores as the OPEN beta requires a subscription. I have no clue if they're going to offer keys to free account holders at some point or not.
913  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Aion discussion plus Q&A on: August 27, 2009, 06:34:29 PM
Open Beta has been announced. September 6-13. Looks like we will be keeping our closed beta characters. No details yet on HOW the keys will be disbursed, but the open beta will be 1.5! Since everyone is pretty much yawning over Champions Online, I really think it would be cool if more of you checked the game out before launch. Those that preorder will get a 2 day headstart over the retail release too. Anyway I'll keep you posted when I hear anything more. Those of us who will be playing in the open beta will be on Siel, Asmodian side - you can also make Elyos characters on the same servers in beta, just not at launch.

914  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Guild Wars 2 is coming on: August 24, 2009, 12:33:19 AM
I wasn't really much of a fan of the original Guild Wars, though I heard it evolved into something halfway decent through its numerous expansions. Well Guild Wars 2 is coming, and after seeing the official trailer, i'm pretty interested.

If you haven't checked it out yet, do so.. I think you'll be pretty intrigued.
