Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Just Beat an RPG Already!

Okay, so for all I know, I'm really the only person with the following problem:
I just don't finish games. Short games, long games, first person shooter games, role playing games, puzzle games, licensed games, indie games, flash games, console games. The worst being roleplaying games, which I love so much. I simply can't sit through one, it seems without starting another, which eventually leads to me ignoring the first for the second, which eventually gets abandoned for the third.
And so on and so forth.
Does anyone else have a similar gameplay habit? Do you have some sort of "system" to keep you in check?
Here's one I'm entertaining: AA members use the support of eachother (amongst other things) to escape the prison of their alchoholism. Not to say the two situations are similar, but could we not do the same?
The idea is to pick one game, swear up and down in this thread that you will finish it, knowing that the other participants will also engage in this activity. The Game Journal thread in General Discussion would be the optimum place to share your game experiences, of course, but perhaps here we can focus on actually beating a game (assuming, of course, that I'm not the only one with a shitty attention span.)
Alternatively, any advice or similar issues that you can share with me so maybe I can finally beat an RPG that is longer than 10 hours? Stay off the Internet, you'll find yourself finishing all sorts of stuff.....

Hello
Yes I picked one up Friday morning at 9:00 at the local Pamida store. Left home about 8:00 drove 50 miles to the store, walked in at 9:00 when it opened, asked them if they got any units in, he said just two, went and got one of them for me, I paid for it and went on home.....
Didn't have to reserve it, didn't have to stand in line, no fights, nothing. Ahh the beauty of living in the country.....
Saw all the units for sale on ebay, man theres a ton of them, its crazy. But not going to put mine on there, its going to replace our old dvd player in the living room once I get a new LCD HDTV.

Hello again,
Well after playing most of the day today I got the hang of the viewing stick, almost second nature to me now:)
Am very impressed with the game, characters, voice acting, story, pretty much sucked me in for the day.....
Some of the battles where theres a few enemies get a little confusing at times, but concentrating on one at a time seemed to help.
Hope your all having fun too....

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy XII

Hello
Played it about 4 hours last night and just have one complaint so far:
The right analog stick for viewing, am having a tough time getting used to moving it left to look right and vice versa.....
I had put about 150 hours into Oblivion on the 360 and you could invert the way you view in that game. Move left to look left, move right to look right. So its pretty much locked into my subconsience to use it that way:)
Is there any reason why they set it up that way? Or am I just left right challenged:)

Hello
Well I found out to see if you have the Ashe cover anyway. If you push the guide up in the shrink wrap you see the very top part and if the upper left corner has a little pink strip up there its Ashe.
If theres a small tan strip in the middle then its Vaan.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy releases, Japan to us

Hello
I know this has probably been posted or gone over before so just bear with me:) Am having some confusion with my son on all these releases for Final Fantasy. Once we get this straight I'm printing out and laminating it:)
I pretty much have it figured out, I think, but am missing one somehow, anyway heres what I have:
Japan: US: FF I FF I NES FF I(Origins)PSX FF I(Dawn of Souls)GBA FF II FF II(Origins)PSX FF II(Dawn of Souls)GBA FF III FF II SNES FF IV(Advance)GBA FF IV FF III SNES FFVI(Anth)PSX FF V(Advance)GBA FF V FFV(Anth) PSX FF VI(Advance)GBA
At FF VI is where I seem to get messed up at, didn't the Japan and US releases start being the same at VII, VIII, IX for the Playstation and after that the same for PSX II: X, X-2, XI-online, and finally XII
If I'm way off here, staighten me out, I would appreicate it.
Thanks

Hello
Did they re-release BOF IV like they did some of the other psx games. The reason I'm asking is theres a seller on Ebay thats got quite a few of them but at a very cheap price so was kinda leary about them.....
Thanks
