I'm a bit late to the party, but Grand Theft Auto V is excellent.  I wish the game would have spent a little more time focusing on Trevor's white trash meth empire before tossing the narrative back to Los Santos, though.  Hopefully there will be more of it later.

I read the front page so I can see the fruits of all the labor my old friends have continually put into this website for the decade and a half I've known them.

That's what I tell them, anyway.

I've chosen well with my Kickstarter backing so far, so I'm not particularly worried that this will come back and bite me in the ass.

I would have thrown a hundred bucks at it if Ayami Kojima was involved.

Enslaved - One Thousand Years of Rain

The new Enslaved album doesn't ring all my bells like "RITTIR" did, but I definitely put this song up there as one of their best.

I have roughly seventeen recent games that I could be playing right now.  So of course I'm playing Rune Factory 3 instead.

I like this game.  There's a love interest that's apathetic as fuck.  We will marry and have children that adore The Cure.

Dying isn't the word I'd use, but it's definitely become niche in these digital days.  I don't really have a problem with that, either.  Leave the mp3s to casual fans and let the devoted fans have something physical and unique.

There are still plenty of fantastic album covers around.  Just last year I bought a vinyl copy of Paradise Lost's B-side/rarity album "Tragic Illusion", and I have it displayed in a place of honor.

Katatonia - Omerta

Katonia's new acoustic album/Blu-Ray is excellent.

This game is really good.  It feels like it's been a billion years since I last played a well-written PC epic.

The only problem I'm having is finding a class to stick with.  It's a toss-up between chanter, paladin, and druid.

Fields of the Nephilim - Psychonaut

So goth.

The music thing alone would get me to buy it if I had a PS4 or planned on getting one anytime soon.  FF10 is my favorite in the series, but having those new music arrangements made it feel...wrong.

It's good.  Good job, Mike.

I'm about three quarters of the way through with the MM remake, and I'm not terribly enthused with it.  The quality of life changes are pretty good, but the game seems like it's lost its soul in the wake of the visual upgrade.  I don't know if it a lighting thing or what, but everything looks entirely too cheerful and cartoonish.  The original was always bright, but in a more garish, psychedelic sense that made you realize that you had legitimately stepped through the looking glass.  It's like everything in this version is too...polished and scrubbed, I guess.  I don't know how else to put it.

I don't really see why they redesigned the boss battles, either.  The boss in Snowhead bummed me out in particular.  Having to stop and plink arrows at an eye now just sucks the momentum out of that fight.

The more I play, the more I wish I was playing a straight port.

2015 is the year I re-read the entire Wheel of Time series.  Since it's finally ended, I feel like I need to revisit the whole thing to cap off that 20-year journey.

I'm currently twenty pages into "The Eye of the World".  This project is gonna extend into 2016 at this pace.
