3406  The Rest / General Discussions / Kill the Load times on: June 02, 2006, 11:25:05 AM
I am the most impatient son of a bitch to have ever walked the world, yet I had absolutely no problem with the loading times on Suikoden V.  After everyone here went on and on about how it took forever for battles to load, I chuckled when it took all of seven seconds.  If people are that desperate for immediate action, I say go play Ace Combat Zero. :P

And I cannot believe someone used Cave Story as an example of good graphics.  Yeah, it looks okay...for something some random asshole brewed up on their spare time.  If I had laid down cash for that, I'd have set fire to the store I bought it from.

I have to say, in all my time overseeing these boards (not to mention the years I was just a normal peon), I've never seen someone make the argument that they couldn't get into games because they looked too good.  Kudos for being an original.
3407  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / WoW - What UI mods are the cool kids using these days? on: June 02, 2006, 11:07:08 AM
I used to have a bunch of different hotbar mods back during my first time playing the game.  When I came back a few months ago however, I saw that Blizzard had added in a few new bars of their own on the sides of the screen and along the bottom, and those generally suffice.  The only bar mod I use now is Auto Hide Bar, which basically just causes a series of buttons to show up whenever I mouse over the right side of the screen while holding shift.  I don't use it for anything I need instantly; just for food and water, mana gems, and my various teleports.

Aside from that, I just use Titan Panel, Quickloot, Atlas, and Necrosis for my lock.  I don't like having a bunch of excess crap. :P
3408  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Fucking WoW Nazi on: June 01, 2006, 05:22:11 PM
LMAO

Do people act like that on raids very often?  I think I'd be too busy laughing to play if I ever heard anything remotely like that. :P
3409  The Rest / General Discussions / Harrison denies Wii influence, says PCs will be unnecessary. on: June 01, 2006, 12:52:35 PM
Bullshit.

Such is my opinion of the whole damn article. :P

Yeah, Rob's voice does sound a little shaky in a few places.  Maybe it's because he's being squeezed by a big fucking metal hand, though. :P

Speaking of Halford, I actually managed to find a video of the best part of my most beloved bootleg.  Gaze upon the Metal God performing "Heaven and Hell" with the almighty Sabbath.

I kinda wish it had been "Children of the Grave" though, because Rob fucks up and comes in WAY too early. :P

In case things get busy for you guys over the next week, I'm gonna remind you early:

Don't forget about the upcoming national holiday.

Oh God, is that flange I hear on Anthony's abortion of a bass solo?  I know Eddie abused the hell out of that effect; I guess it was bound to rub off. :P

Here's something for the metalheads who haven't been metalheads quite as long as I have.  We all know and love the metal world's favorite bipolar lunatic, Devin Townsend.  We all know how Strapping Young Lad are some of the heaviest motherfuckers on the earth.  But what you might not know is that Devy got his start with someone far less heavy and aggressive:  Steve Vai.  And even if you do know that, you might not have heard any of the music they did together.

Well, I say it's time to change that. :P

...Steve Vai is disturbing me with the way he makes love to the camera. :P

Unfortunately, I've heard nothing but bad things about Legend of Mana.

You need to read this thread then.

The only current multiplayer RPG I'd recommend is X-Men Legends 2.  That game is stupidly fun, and I imagine multiple players would only make it better.
3414  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / WoW: Male Draenei & Male Blood Elf Dances... HAHAHAHA! on: May 29, 2006, 05:37:30 PM
LMAO

I am so rolling a blood elf male now. :P

I kid you not, every time I've had a spare moment over the past month, my ass has been over at YouTube.  If you have any interest in music whatsoever, the place is an absolute goldmine of musical gems.

Where else could you watch the cheesiest video in the history of metal, then turn right around and watch the gayest?  Nowhere, I'm sure.

So yeah, this thread is for people to find awesome and/or bizzare music-related videos and share them.  Just because I do nothing but metal doesn't mean you can't do other genres. :P

Here's some shit to get things started:

First, watch Glenn Danzig pull off two vibes that don't normally go together:  creepy AND homoerotic.  That's one awesome song though, even though this video has kinda ruined it for me. :P

If you're in the mood for something simultaneously uplifting and depressing, check out this video of X Japan performing "Forever Love" at hide's funeral.  That couldn't have been easy for those guys, which makes this performance even more special.

Of course, I wouldn't even dream of doing something like this without something by the almighty Iron Maiden.  Gaze in marvel at the best rendition of  "Remember Tomorrow" I've ever heard.

And last, but certainly not least, some more Priest.  Pre-leather Priest.  Non-bald Priest.  It's kinda surreal, really. :P  Dreamer Deceiver, bitches.

Okay folks, get after it. :P
3416  Media / The Soundroom / Prince can play guitar better than you on: May 28, 2006, 07:27:11 PM
It's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", by a little band you might have heard of called The Beatles. :P
3417  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Someone tell me on: May 28, 2006, 12:30:35 PM
Learn a musical instrument?

Play Mario Kart?

Jack off?

Maybe I'm crazy, but back in the day, when those three RPGs a year were done, I did other things.  It's not a tricky concept. :P
3418  Media / The Soundroom / Recent Music Purchases on: May 28, 2006, 12:27:39 PM
So the old singer for my band says she's sending me an album that is gonna completely take me by surprise.

When the package came, I was kinda surprised to see Body Count's debut album sitting in there.  I thought she knew better than to send me any form of rap rock.

But I put it in anyway since I had nothing better to do...and I was blown the fuck away.  Seriously.  It's got thrash, punk, and power ballads.  It's got aggression, rage, and humor.  It's wonderful.

I've listened to it like six times since I got it.  I can see this moving up into my list of favorite albums.

Was that the "Dark" guy the rogue was talkin about in Guild Chat?

That's the one.  I'm glad you reminded me what his name was, because I forgot to blacklist him last night. :P
3420  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / World of Warcraft OH MY GOD CURRENT EVENTS THREAD on: May 26, 2006, 02:20:33 AM
So I ran SFK with one of the rogues in my guild.  The rest of the group included a priest (duh), a druid I've worked with before, and a lock who never used DoTs.  What a fucking winner.

Anyway, we get to the end and Meteor Shard drops.  My rogue gets excited, with good reason:  that thing is awesome for her level.  So she rolls need.

So does the lock.

Now, I know a warlock can use a dagger...just preferrably not that one.

Guess who won?  Not my rogue.

So I was like "Well, I suppose he can use it, so it's not THAT bad."

He then proceeds to disenchant the fucking thing right there in front of us.

What an asshole.  That's actually the first time I've seen that happen, although God knows I've heard about it happening.
