Nah, only two of the six are humans, the Eth on the Defiant side and the Mathosians on the Guardians.  Two flavors of humans, two flavors of elf, and your choice of dwarf or geniespawn. :P

Head over to Deepwood.  Faction doesn't matter much aside from aesthetics these days, but I'll certainly have an easier time getting to you if you play Defiant.  Look for me on either Skullflower or Randgrith, most likely the latter.

I would play Rift again but you will stop playing in about a week Daniel. Just like every other MMO I have played with you. You suck.

Jokes on you, bitch.  I'm one month into a six month subscription. :P

Nearly everyone I would want to meet from here is on the west coast or way the fuck up north, so I can't make a day trip to see them.  I keep telling myself I'll take a trip and meet up with my bitches when I'm not poor...but I will never not be poor. :P

Hi there.  My name is Daniel.  You might remember me from my years-long stint as the administrator of these boards, when I regularly banned fifteen people a week for crimes like having more numbers than letters in their user names.  I'm here today to talk about MMORPGs, and I have a question to start things off:  what's your favorite MMORPG?  Take your time, I'll wait.

Really?  I had a feeling you'd say that.  What's the thing you like the most about it?

Yeah, that's a pretty good feature, man...or it would be if this was 2007.  But this is 2013.  We've lived longer than the Mayans thought.  It's a brave new world, motherfucker.  And you're playing obsolete garbage.

See, there's a game out there called Rift.  Everything your favorite MMORPG does, it does it better.

Dungeon design?  Better.
World design?  Better.
Class mechanics? Infinitely better.
Casual play?  Better.
Hardcore poopsocking raids?  Better.
Story?  Better.
Visuals?  Better.
Lack of pandas?  Fucking better.
Crafting?  Bett-well, GW2's crafting is probably better, but it's as good as crafting ever gets.

I could go on and on.  Rift is to WoW what WoW was to Everquest: a refined and perfected version of its predecessors.  If you're playing anything else, you're playing something that's second best.

I can hear some of you already.  "B-but you have to p-p-pay a monthly fee and herp and derp and a bloo bloo bloo fdaiud0ufdjkay894y" Look man, you can play the first 20 levels right the fuck now with Rift Lite.  Twenty levels out of sixty for free ain't bad, bro.

And that won't even matter when the next major patch hits, because it's gonna go free to play.  Zero excuse.  Trion is giving you this game, man.

Read more about Rift at the offical website.  And then play it, because it is great...and you deserve greatness.

When you do things while representing a guild, you earn that guild influence.  That influence is a currency you use to buy guild upgrades.  It'd be easier to just link to a list, because there's a lot of it.

I liked it, but as damn near every post above mine points out, it was a little too slow paced for its own good.  I get that they were trying to sell those mechs as being more like tanks than Gundams, but it isn't something that should have inhibited the gameplay.  A fast forward option would have been hugely helpful.

DR...what happened to me? I got soft....

We all got soft, man.  Could it be...maturity?

Nah, fuck that.

I liked you better when I thought of you as Bob Ross.

I play pretty regularly.  I play with the SA goons these days, though.

I remember the good old days, when Mike was the only brony I knew and he never posted outside the staff forums to remind me of it. :P

So many tweets today from people who have finished it already. Kind of makes me want the game slightly less. Although, games people tend to complete in 5 to 10 hours often take me 20 to 30 hours to finish, so who knows? I often wonder why that is, anyway. Maybe because I tend not to play games for more than 2 hours at a time, so a lot of my time is spent remembering what I was doing? Who knows, a subject best left for another topic.

In summation, I'm sure the game is wonderful but it doesn't seem like it has the length to warrant paying $50-60

It's short, but I readily admit that I blew through it because I wanted to see where the narrative was going.  I could have spent more time exploring (I had damn near 30 lockpicks left at the end, so I know I missed a lot of shit), but the story is what was driving me forward.  If you wanted to take it slower and explore the world, then that option certainly exists.

Due to some well-timed free time, I beat Bioshock Infinite!  Ending spoilers!:

I was waiting for the surprise twist, man.  Just waiting for it to happen so I could say "A-ha!"  Wasn't expecting the big twist to come in the literal final scene. :P

I'm very tempted to go back and see what difference (if any) that choice of pendant makes, but I think I'll let it sit for a while before I do.
