Just started reading China Mieville's latest book, "Railsea". Such an odd book, about a sea of train tracks, and people sail this "ocean" on trains hunting giant moles.  Classic Mieville :P

He is on the list of people to read on my quest to dig fantasy books.

I think in that case your expectations are what's wrong. Smash isn't trying to occupy the same space in gaming that stuff like Street Fighter is, and I've never heard anyone talk about it with the same currency of other fighting games.

This topic would be better if more people explained their hatred for certain games. Like, I'm cool with people tipping over the sacred cows of the genre, but "X is shit," or "Y > Z," isn't very thought provoking.

Unless we're just making lists of games we don't like that a lot of other people do.

Legend of Mana is awesome. I know it's a button masher, basically, but I love the way the story is pieced together by vignettes. And the art style. I've never really understood the hate for this game now that I think about it.

That's the way to do it. You either enjoy. Game enough to finish it or you don't. And I don't see the point of keeping games around that you don't finish.

The only game I own that I haven't finished is DQIV.

The is that aspect, but more writers fall back on his "I'm avenging my dead parents" archetype before exploring the reality that is things like OMAC and having a way to neutralize all of his friends.

I despise Batman with a passion, always struck me as a stupid superhero, after all if he can do it anyone with money and brains could. Having said that I found Arkham City to be a blast, the gameplay and graphics were solid and I simply put my disbelief of him as a "superhero" on hold.

Batman is a pretty stupid character, but no one ever reads his comics for him. It's his villains that truly shine.

When Batman is divorced from the rest of the DCU, he is a lot better, IMO. It's when he gets involved with the Justice League that shit gets wonky. Like, in his own right, he'll sometimes get his ass kicked by a bunch of thugs, but then with the DCU, he holds a candle against Superman-level villains.

Guys, Paul Christoforo, the Ocean Marketing dude, has joined the Penny Arcade boards. This is going to get ugly quick.

Apparently, he's suing iControl Enterrprieses (the manufacturers of the Avenger controller) for breach of contract.

Wow.

Let them know. The IRS will figure it out, and there is no limit and when they can come after you to collect.

The new Batman games are blast. You're really doing yourself a disfavor by not at least renting them.

Are jobs so hard to come by a woman resorts to banging a dude for a job at EB games?

We have regained all of the lost jobs in the private sector that we've lost in the last decade as of today.

But the answer to this question is yes.

Yeah, if he's not looking for a tablet and just wants a an eReader, definitely go with a Kindle or a Nook. The display on the iPad is much closer to a computer whereas the dedicated eReaders are a lot easier on the eyes. They're also considerably cheaper, though the iPad2 just dropped to like $300 from $500.

The issue I have is a pricing one as well. The good news is that a lot of books that may be out of print and expensive are available relatively cheap. A lot of classics are available for free.

I have an iPad, but mostly us iBooks for PDFs and such.
