No, penguin, no! That's suicide! ;_;

Here's some penguins fighting like angry little girls to cheer everyone up.

Maybe penguin bullying was why that penguin went to the mainland to die!

Beat it last night. Definitely worth the slow start, loved the game.

I can't believe you monsters would ditch big sister Schera just for unlimited limit breaks.

And how's that narrative even work?

'Ok, let's rush 'em!'
'...alright? You're not going to lecture me about charging in headfirst without any kind of plan?'
'Ugh, FINE...'

I say take it a step further and remove the creepy as hell looking girl from the game entirely.

Taking out the boob slider is dumb though, unless it let you go full dragon's crown or something.

Making a slime vita seems like a odd choice when it's competitor gets all the games.

On the fence on 7. On the one hand it's fun, on the other it's really frustrating how you have 5 characters and 4 party slots with forced rotations in a game with such focus on character building and I haven't heard anything about the remake fixing it.

Hitting the button with the sound effect seemed a lot more effective to me then trying to time it with the ! and having no idea if I hit the button to early or too late.

Training chapter was kinda lame, because Estelle's not a novice anymore.
And sadly I read our invincible friend is just a temp until the third game.

But pleasantly surprised to see I could swap party members once I got 5 people and my group wasn't just at mercy of the story anymore like the first game. Kinda. 3 of the 4 members were mandatory :p

You should play the first one or don't bother.

I'd highly recommend playing the first though if you want a good story.

Am I the only one that vastly prefers Strange Journey to IV? That's usually the impression I get : )

SMT IV started a lot stronger then kinda petered out late game. 3 problems being...

I got way too strong and was just one shotting random encounters.

Inheritance changes were needed, but gave too much. I didn't feel like I was getting new demons, since I kept most of the same skills except for a upgrade here and there.

And lastly but most importantly, 'Oh, grats. You got the neutral route you were shooting for. Now you have to do EVERY sidequest to progress the main story.' And dropped. Though it was already kinda wearing on me.

But I did have a ton of fun with the game before I stopped having fun with the game.

I'm just playing the second game. I loved the first game, but playing it was enough to keep my satisfied for 12 years.

Her persona inspiration looks really weak.

But in a game about thieves I'm not going to complain about someone doing the Catwoman thing. And with the slim pickings for lady thieves it's kinda hard not too.

I don't think the treadmills the problem, not directly anyway. Nothing to do is the problem. You aren't going to mind the carrot on a stick if you're enjoying the ride. But this would be the time to cancel until 3.x if it weren't for esoterics.

I think the 3d/2d thing would be cooler if the 3d looked better. Although maybe that's a bit unfair because it was someone filming a person playing and not a direct feed.

Main character doesn't strike me as female at all, unless said female is trying to pass herself off as a man. If that were the case I'd say it's a really good design. Unlikely though because self insert heroes. Definitely androgynous, but more male than not.

I don't even see the Trunks comparison, probably thanks to those softer androgynous features which aren't Toriyama's usual fare. I mean, I see it(Hair parted down the middle, purple outfit, sword on the back)...but I don't see it. The character looks relatively unique, except for the clear dq8 cues in the outfit. Which is probably a good choice for getting the international market since that was their most popular dq.

After watching Jojo part 3 I made the jump to the manga and finished reading Diamond is Unbreakable. I liked Stardust Crusaders, but it's a pretty big step up. Liked the cast and the stands got a lot more interesting in general. Just about everyone gets cool powers instead of just a few choice bad guys, with the good guys stuck with 'Your power is your stand has a sword.'

Apparently part 5 has a debate of 'it's not very good' and 'it's very good, but the translation doesn't do it justice'. So think I'm skipping it until the whole thing gets a better translation and going straight to part 6.

Also seriously the soundtrack:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6rEU_-_P-g (Forelands theme, same melody as below)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCXfzpTUu8I (dungeon name spoilers)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe9mLH3egLg (ishgard night-time in the Foundation)

I was not expecting jazz. But it's made for the most relaxing dungeon running ever.

Caught up to prepare for the expansion. Sweet cut scenes. And some long ass credits. But at least they played Answers.

Addicted to chocobo racing and not sure why. Triple Triads cool, but I've still just got my 5 starter cards.

Bought a barmaids dress with my gold saucer points. Because this is a game about pretty dresses. Manly pretty dresses.

Expansion, I'm rather worried about UI clutter. More than ever I wish I could make macros like putting physic/ruin on one button WITHOUT built in lag.

I really like the machinist and bard less mobile power/caster stances. So long as they're balanced anyway and both styles have a place.

Astrologian's non-card stuff looks pretty simple for the most part, but I'm pretty interested in it. It's all on whether the cards deliver or not. If they do that should make up for it.

Scholar moves looks kinda situational. I'm not sure when I'd need to turn adlo into a pure heal. Lustrate's there for emergencies, otherwise you're getting physic. A big aoe heal means you probably didn't keep succor up, though sometimes that happens and it could be useful in the dreaded two scholar parties. Wish I got smns new tri-disaster. Not going to lie though. Eating fairies for power is neat.
