Parser data disagrees with you, sir. Are you seriously suggesting that rare/valuable equipment has no effect on a character's performance and only exists for ego masturbation?

I'm saying the damage is so minor it doesn't even matter. Some stats DO matter. But a lot of it is just for show. It basically boils down to enough accuracy to hit, haste and whether you have a bard or not. And things that go beyond stats like dune boots and multi attack swords(But these aren't something you can buy).

The rest of your post aside, because I do agree with it, Warrior sub on thief hardly "increases" your damage on Thief. If you're using haste gear, which 90% for thief is rare/ex making price irrelevant, the damage you get from Triple Attack merits proccing on two hands at once vastly outweighs anything /WAR would ever give you.

I found it to mean a lot on anything that actually had defense. Damage just plummets as a thief if you don't have berserk to break through. Squishies it added less. And squishies you can pull hate on so /nin regardless.

The real world economy has gone to shit and people are whining over money in a game. Fantastic. Real great priorities!

It's great to see people caring about what really matters in this world, gil buying!

That's dodging the subject with a unrelated issue :P

Still, though I never have, I don't blame anyone for doing it. The elitists demand it, obsessed when stats when most stats hardly even do anything. Like how a thief 'sucks' without leaping boots. Do you know what leaping boots do? Leaping boots don't do a damn thing. You won't see your damage go up with them. You'll just see a bigger number in the stat menu.  But you need them. Because the elitists demand them. And everyone's a elitist, because that attitude spreads(And I wasn't immune to it either).

Meanwhile if you sub warrior instead of ninja and actually increase your damage, even when you don't need shadows, people will give you crap for using the 'wrong' sub.

Well, for a girl to be 5'11" and weigh 115 lbs, she either has no tits or no ass, or both.

They can buy the tits.

Outside that though it's true. I knew a skinny 6 foot girl who said she wanted to lose weight even though she was, I wouldn't say malnourished, but bony. I was like, you're six feet tall, don't gauge yourself by what someone 5'5 should weight. And I did think 'Maybe you'd have a chest if you ate more'. Tell a girl that and someone's going to cry though. Either her or you when she's done with you :P

7th Saga

That is one of the hardest games I HAVE EVER PLAYED.

It's not so much hard as broken. They lowered stat growth per level because apparently the original was 'too easy'. And they absolutely broke it. Like that dragon that takes a hour to kill because you can only hit him for 1 damage. Not supposed to be like that, they just fucked the game up.

There's a way to really see the difference too, characters who aren't in your party get their original stat gains per level. Pick up the elf mage at a high level as a physical class. She'll be meleeing for like 300 when you're tapping things for 50.

That's what killed septerra core for me. Sloooow enemies. I really liked the setting, but I just couldn't get through it.

I started watching one piece again and I'm liking it. I stopped years ago because it got a little TOO weird with Chopper and hairy trannies who fight with ballerina techniques. Now I actually like Chopper and ballerina trannies are still annoying, but slightly more bearable.

I think somewhere along the line Japan lowered my standards :P

what is Osterhagen Key an anagram of?

Earth's Gone.

Also, Storage Hen. I don't think that's what they were going for though. http://wordsmith.org/anagram/ is fun :P

Edit-Garnet shoe!

Lagoon could have been awesome(Well, decent at least) if your 'sword' wasn't so incredibly, incredibly small. You'd take damage running into enemies just trying to get in range to hit them. Agree on the music though. It was like 15 second repeating midis. But they were the best 15 second repeating midis ever created :P

Be sure to get spybot search and destroy or something to make sure you don't have any keyloggers so they can't just take the account again after you get it back. Wasn't a issue when I left, but I'd since heard RMT started using them for FFXI like they do for that other mmo. Getting the firefox browser with the noscript addon helps to stop you from getting new ones as well.

Edit-Oh, and update your Flash player. Older versions have vulnerabilities and you could get a keylogger from a flash ad banner or such without even clicking on it. Pretty big deal a few months ago with sites like allakazham having them.

Well the show likes to pull solutions out it's ass, but I think it was just fine in this case because there were consequences for doing it.

687  Media / Single-Player RPGs / voice acting so bad its funny. on: July 02, 2008, 10:15:23 AM
Unless you understand Japanese, that statement couldn't be more invalid. If you don't understand the words spoken, there is no way you could evaluate the quality of the voice actor's presentation of them.

That's the beauty of it. Acting could be horrible and you'd never know except in the extreme cases. Anime and game characters also have a tendency to say, well, stupid shit and it's a bit more forgiving to read it than it is to hear it.
688  Media / Single-Player RPGs / "Countdown Site" = Chrono Trigger DS? remake, new on: July 02, 2008, 09:09:40 AM
My interest all depends if it's really a remake. 'Remake' is used as kind of a blanket term, but there's actual remakes and then there's ports with a few extras. Remakes combine the nostalgia with a new experience. I'd only be interested in ports if I actually wanted to play them on the road. My DS generally doesn't go farther than a trip to the bathroom though :P

690  The Rest / General Discussions / Nerd girls are sexy now, it seems. on: June 24, 2008, 05:36:16 PM
I'd always found 'cute' to be just as attractive as 'sexy'. And cute often ends up being nerdy. Of course the articles theme seems to be a lot less 'cute is hot' as 'Dallas cheerleaders want to come to your house for some world of warcraft and then have sex with you.'.
