Picked this up with Tales of Abyss(Which almost went over my head since I thought it was the DS game that I was planning to skip because...well...just look at it... http://www.rpgfan.com/pics/talesofthetempest/ss-001.jpg ) and I'm really loving it. Battle system enjoyable enough, but it's the rest of the game that has me. I knew I'd like the game before I even played it as long as they seriously didn't mess up the battle system. The unique setting, art style(Although the men could use a bit less mascara) and detective theme just beat the crap out of the standard fare.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Fire Emblem -- Why do I play it???

I don't reset when someone dies in FE, unless it's my only healer or something. It's part of what makes the game good.
Though character death certainly doesn't work for all games. FFT for example, you just put to much effort into a character to start one over. Although it's not usually a issue since you have 3 turns to revive someone, it's still pointless design because NOBODY is going to not reset if it happens.

I can't argue the flaws that reviews point out in the game, but nonetheless I found it to be a fun game. Not there yet, but step in the right direction towards a handheld quality castlevania on a console.

It's really tough to say. I'm sure they DO need nukes to stop us from attacking them, Bush flat out put them on the list calling them part of a 'Axis of Evil'. There's really nothing else they can do to protect themselves.
It's really a issue of do they JUST want to deter the US? Or do they want to deter the US so they can go wild attacking their neighbors? One's justifiable, as sad a situation as it is. The other's not.

The supportive abilities to issue comands to buff your characters or take formation were a pretty neat concept, but unfortunantly wasn't enough to bring up such a 'eh' combat system.
My main problem though was how everything just fell appart when I picked the non-human side. It kinda felt like the game wanted to drill it in your head that A.The main character was a TOTAL moron who was completely ignorant of the situation and that B.you, the player, picked the 'wrong' side(Though I'd imagine that it probably would have did this whichever side I picked). Then there was the characters and the homebase. I went from a cool town to basically a shack and despite lots of character choices I didn't really want to use any of them.
Nail in the coffin was the ending. No conclusion whatsoever.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix + to come with full CoM remake.

For kingdom hearts II(not chains) I think it's kinda bad practice when companies do things like this with recent releases. It's another thing if a game is a few years old. And even another if a game is COMPLETELY reworked for a new system(CoM remake itself isn't a problem), but they should be redoing their latest big game...TWICE. It's profitable obviously, but if they had more content to add they should have put it in the original in the first place. For com thoughts specifically... SoraI believe in the heart of the cards!

I'm really liking the game. Assides from the music and KOSMOS not being a badass with no regard for human life like in the first game it's vastly improved over the first two. First and foremost, the battle system no longer sucks. It's even enjoyable. Ether attacks are actually powerful and they fixed the horribly frustrating boost system from XSII(Which I rank as the worst battle system I'd ever played in a rpg, having to just sit there several rounds and get beat on most of the fight while you boost, since that's the only way to do worthwhile damage.) So now you've got good story and gameplay and they finally made a solid game. And almost as important as the gameplay changes, chaos found himself a decent pair of pants.
Oddly enough I haven't really noticed the bad dialouge people are talking about. Only thing that really stands out is Jr's 'Try again in ten years', though I don't find that so much bad as cliche. It's delivered well enough and it's certainly better than his old 'Sayonara, baby' catchphrase.
Of course I won't deny the existence of bad dialouge. I guess it's just that sci fi and bad dialouge go hand in hand, as such having seen enough sci fi I don't notice it anymore :P

I refuse to sell my games, but yeah, I understand what you mean. I haven't sat down and REALLY played through a game in years. That is sad. I started Tales of Legendia, but it's been boring me. In fairness Tales of Legendia sucks :P

Tv shows I don't see a problem with. I guess it's the recording argument. I can tape a tv show and watch it, fast forwarding through comercials(And now I guess tivo or whatever people don't even need to do that) and I don't see how that's any different than just downloading a show.
Commercial music, same deal except with ghetto tapes.
Game music, I feel if I bought a game I should be able to listen to it's music. It's a PART of what I bought. For game music of games you HAVEN'T bought, downloading songs actually serves the game company by showing you a reason you should buy said game.
Games on current gen systems, wrong. Older games, not so much. Particularly if it's something not released here. Don't want to bring terranigma to the states? Well, I'm playing it anyway.
Movies, wrong.
Anime(That's not on tv), same thing, unless it's not actually coming here. 'Not coming here' not being the same as 'Not liseanced YET'.
Though while I note what I feel is right or wrong, I can't say I'm not guilty of going into the wrong catagory at times.

I get the impression by that picture of all the old classes that they just decided to port TF onto a new engine instead of making a true TF2. But then I guess I'd prefer that what so many people wanted back in the day, which is turning it into counterstrike.
