I doubt he was plotting and scheming, but I suppose he did have a say in it.
Even if the sales manager of FFXI is mostly responsible for it, he does have to report back to Wada.

So it's also Wada's fault because he either condoned it or didn't pay enough attention.
The result is a major mistake that
A) pissed of paying customers to the point of suing SE
B) may cost them 5,000,000 (might not be much to SE, but not having to pay it is always better)
C) is really bad PR, especially when they want to market a new mmorpg

You should expect a good CEO to identify such a problem before it actually occurs or nip it in the bud before it causes this much trouble.

Any particular reason why the game isn't being completed before doing a final review?

No, honestly, when there's a site as large as GameFAQs that provides multiple walkthroughs for most major titles, why would we expend effort when our writers can write things that actually matter?  A FAQ or Walkthrough takes tens of hours to write, and provides little in regards to potential advertising income in comparison to a review or preview.  There's no reason we should be providing walkthroughs when the cost in effort and time doesn't match the reward.
You seriously believe a single person's opinion is worth more than a free guide?
Last time I checked, people do not pay a single cent for a review, but easily dish out 25$ for professional guides. And the only thing gamefaqs guides lack are the pictures, the content is sometimes even more detailed and better than in professional guides.

I must agree with the topic creator.
I just read an article of SE getting sewed for 5,000,000 by over 100k people over their fews and the undisclosure of them (apparently they are extremely vague with the descriptions and then add more and more fees for everything).

Like when you stop playing for a while and want to continue, you have to pay for the months you didn't play (and your account was inactive) as well.

I thought the new CEO was alright, he didn't beat around the bush but was honest that he's trying to milk franchise for what they're worth, but cheating people out of their money is just ridiculous.

I can only hope SE doesn't pull such BS with FFXIV.

You got me there. I thought this forum allows for checkbox polls.
But I only ever did dirty word puns, which is quite harmless in PSO, as the game has symbol chat and many people made much worse (and funny) images than any word I ever said in that game.

It's mildly amusing.
This http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LOLCODE is a hell lot funnier.
7  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Re: So, XBox 360 or PS3? on: August 12, 2009, 09:55:54 PM
I'd go with the 360. I have one and it rocks.
The PS3 is huuuuuuuge and looks like a heater rather than a game console, design wise it's like 70ies consoles everyone was churning out.

Besides that, the price. I got my 360 for 199, PS3 should be a good 150 more. Also, I think the games are a bit more expensive, most  likely due to the more expensive discs.

I only saw it once, but compared to the 360's system menu, the PS3's looks kinda unintuative.

Not sure if PS3 has something like the guide button, allowing you to get back into the console menu any time or shut down the console easily.
And not to mention, the halfassed motion sensoring that some games indeed do use, it sucks bad.
I played Flower and while visually impressive, the controls where among the worst I ever saw.

The Claymore manga is awesomely awesome, but it really is slow.

So, earlier I watched the last few eps of Amaenaideyo. It was okay. Not good, but watchable and lots of gratuitous fanservice, And Chihiro Suzuki. I oly noticed him in TotA, but he's done quite a bit of animes and games.
I liked the ending though. No BS or cop out because the manga isn't done yet, resulting in nothing but tears and broken screens, but a clear cut.
Seriously, if it ain't done yet why try to hide it?
