Re: being scared/nervous around teh hot wimmenz

This, my friends, is why God invented alcohol.

This brings up another personal revelation of mine:

I don't drink. And I hate being around people when they're drunk.

ditto. in my case its because my mom is an alchoholic. she only stopped because she cant down it anymore. thats likely the root of my fear of hot wimmens. i have hereby decided lord scottish is a cool guy :o
2269  The Rest / General Discussions / 1UP to replace numerical scoring with letter grades on: February 29, 2008, 04:22:15 PM
who cares really. a review rarely gives you the information you need to make a decision on a game anyways. im a fan of the dynasy/samurai warriors series and they regularly get scores in 5.0 range. the only time in recent memory a review conviced me to buy a game was this sites review of rouge galaxy by sensei phoenix since he kinda heralded the gameplay.

its easy to say you dont need to prove anything to anyone, but i probally have attention issues being the oldest in a family of 7 siblings. i also have a serious case of pride combined with being a double minority(mixed race lesbian) i sometimes wonder if its healthy to identify as black in public but white in private. for the record i am seeking counseling and rehabilitation. recently took a psych evaluation. waiting to see how things proceed from here.

i only hope it doesnt needlessly enforce wii mote controls or at least lets you choose to use a gc or classic controller.

ive been in a slow downward spiral for quite some time now. my emotional and mental health is lacking these days. videogames provide such potent escapism that i dont alow my self to think on it,and ive been unemployed for a good year. the overt feminism i display is in fact born of my desire to not want to seem weak compared to my male counterparts, and because i have such a competative nature i want to be better than them. i sometimes feel like ET in that atari game where you fall in the hole and cant get out. people have thrown me ropes but i was content and didnt pull myself outnow those ropes are slowly disapearing.

it feels good to get that out of my system. i only hope soon i can begin to pull myself out.

A short summary of the wholesome goodness that is Einherjar:

Exhibit A: Einherjar, like Dynamis, features *massive hordes* of enemies.

That PLD, who has incredible gear and full merits, flashed one of the Dark Elementals, which resulted in *ten* of them swarming him as the BRDs tried to sleep them.  He lived for, oh... five seconds?  But his sacrifice was not in vain, for the elementals were successfully slept!

At this point, the BLM leader called out a time, and the 8 BLMs began simultaneously casting Thundaga III.  The plan was to Thundaga III > Horde Lullaby > Firaga III > Horde Lullaby > Thundaga III, then they would be dead.  Frankly, I'm not entirely sure what happened, but hey, let's move on to...

Exhibit B: {Death}ga, another feature of the cavernous hell known as Einherjar.

There it is, your standard "Einherjar wipe!" screenshot.  We raised, rested up, and actually did a damn good job finishing off the rest of the elementals and 4 of the 6 Tainted Fleshes before running out of time.  Didn't make it to the boss fight, haha.

All-in-all, considering that 75% of the shell's members had never done Einherjar before, I think it was a great attempt.  We shall return next Monday for another opportunity at losing exp, gil, and our sanity!

looks like you coulda used some monks with formless strikes >_>
2275  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Suikoden VI on: January 28, 2008, 12:39:51 PM
i hope they can do something to spice up combat. i cant really explain it but the combat in suikoden V seemed boring compared to suikoden 4. maybe the graphical quality had something to do with it.
2276  Media / Single-Player RPGs / where does this sterotype come from? on: January 28, 2008, 12:31:41 PM
maybe its just the enviroment i was raised in(2 girls,5 boys, and the women run the show in my family.) but when i think of power i think of women. ive always liked confident and strong women like Aelia and Hrist from the VP series. even though she was strong physically Avril from WA5 annoyed me a lot.
2277  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Worst Hero & Villain on: January 14, 2008, 11:06:49 AM
haha how could i forget the worst hero ever just because he sucks! its Roy from fire emblem. unlike his smash bros appearence hes one of the worst characters in the game but you have to use him. he is by far the worst hero in any srpg i've played. hes like eirika except not awesome.
2278  Media / Single-Player RPGs / where does this sterotype come from? on: January 14, 2008, 10:24:38 AM
as you know many rpg's use a sterotype where female = caster/healer and the males are melee tanks. but where does this come from? the 3 earliest console rpg's i can think of are final fantasy, dragon warrior, and phantasy star. dragon warrior only has a male character. final fantasy lets you choose your classes but i dont recall if it even had a playable female character, and it most definately DID NOT come from phantasy star because well Alys was just awesome and lutz is the mage throughout the series.
2279  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Worst Hero & Villain on: January 14, 2008, 10:18:22 AM
baffles me why so many people hate squall especially since i've known so many men like him in the real world. hi see your best friend there she would fuck you in a heartbeat all you have to do is ask! but instead you fall for the next pretty face you see! *facepalm* maybe you hate him because you are just like him and dont want to admit it!!!!

the worst hero ever is clear the main character in dragon warrior 1! i kinda disliked the main character in suikoden 4 as well. also any timid female character voiced by michelle ruff makes me want to kill someone. rukia is fine but that voice made me want to strangle sophia and alicia.
2280  Media / Single-Player RPGs / favorite hero and boss from any game on: January 14, 2008, 09:56:09 AM
this thread got me to thinking. why are feamle main villians like non existant? the only one in recent memory i can think of is edea/ultimicia. you could possibly also count Freya in VP2 and maybe Ahly/Hrist before she joins you.

edit:guess ill add in some more heros i liked.

Shion-Xenosaga
sure she annoyed me at times but i annoy people too. plus you've got that Shion X Kos Mos subtext going on through the whole series.
