the only game where you build up a town where i found it rewarding was skies of arcadia.

I don't know why, but the characters in P4 look like they'll be a lot more relatable and likable than the P3 ones.  I had a really hard time feeling much of anything outside of annoyance for any of the P3 characters.  Hell, the atmosphere in P4 just feels a lot better, probably due to it taking place in a non-urban location.

Guess I'll find out next week whether that feeling holds up.

i could relate to all the playable characters in p3 except aigis and and koro in some way. i share at least one thing in common with all the human main characters. of course perhaps thats a testament to how messed up my life has been =P. but you know one of my favorite parts in persona 3 was that video monitor that let you spy on characters. also the game is only as long as you make it.

I wasn't a fan of Tactics Advance. I liked it, but the law ruined the game for me. I don't think i'll be picking FFTA2 anytime soon, if ever.

i find this funny since its really easy to cheat the law system plus the law system in A2 is far less intrusive.

Here is a tough question, outside of the Shining Force series, are there any Srpgs/Trpgs that have the adventure portion? I'm talking about walking around towns, visiting different areas etc.
The only ones I know of are la pucelle and Rhapsody that kind of do it and Disgaea and Soul nomad, do a really dummed down version. What I'm looking for is full town exploration sections.
Any ideas? I think Arc the lad might qualify but I don't know.

because most srpg's take place in a wartime setting it wouldnt make sense to have a town to walk around in. personally the lack of a town doesn't bug me in games like SRW,front mission 4 and the GC fire emblems because there is plenty of banter between the characters between missions and in the case of fire emblem por and front mission 4 you can talk to characters in between missions.

i don't give a damn about abortion. i'm just sick of being treated like a 2nd class citizen in the name of religion. stuff like abortion just gives me more ammo for hating bible huggers.

I'm not a Capcom vs. SNK fan because though I think the SNK characters are cooler, the control scheme for the game favors the Capcom characters (well, duh, it *is* a Capcom game.)

the reason it favors capcom characters has more to do with the snk characters movesets being on the whole more difficult. i mean i think it's easier to perform final atomic crusher than any of geese howards supers.

2380  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Is the traditional console RPG genre stale? on: November 10, 2008, 08:04:47 PM
judging by the original post i think he is refering more to rpg's stories. since rpg gameplay is something that continues to change and evolve. i mean what were you expecting from a tactics game and a tri ace game? thats your fault for being stupid. when i play a tri ace game i expect a fun engaging battle system. as long as the story doesnt annoy me(as was the case in grandia 3) i will continue to play for that fun game play alone. also even though i think xenosaga 3 is one of the best rpg's i've played i found the story to be intrusive at times.

something i learned from this election is the lack of empathy many caucasians seem to have for blacks. a lot of them act like slavery and civil rights movement happend 1,000 years ago or something. i mean i'm half black half white like the president elect and i have racists in my own family. Barack Obama is the first posttive black role model in a LONG time that doesnt shoot balls into hoops or have his pants down to his knee's.

you know i cried and i don't really know why. throughout the night i began to became increasingly teary eyed then i eventually cried for a bit around 3am. it was almost like my body was reacting to something. sorta like when there is raw onions around except much more intense.
