thats from FFVA and is easily one of the worst lines ive ever seen in an rpg. outside that hopefully unintentional humor im enjoying this game a lot so far. as soon as the job system was unlocked i became hooked but my monk keeps dying at bosses :(

i doubt nintendo could maintain a lead unless there was a mass exodus of third party developers. but thats just my perspective because i wouldnt buy a system  just because its cheaper

interesting but how would they transition people that already own a ps3.

im replaying this game and the amount of adult themed references is blowing my mind.
aeris seemed to be engaged in Enjo kosai(compensated dating) in exchange for clouds protection.

a brothel

that workout club type place is clearly full of gay guys.
kinda funny since i heard in one of the saga games square enix censored a lesbian characters lines.

im currently in chapter 6 of valkyrie profile. 2 things:
chapter 5 is made of win
the first time i saw alicia and rufus use thier upgraded soul crushes near the end of chapter 5 i had multiple orgasms.

and now in chapter 6. im proveded with the characters to make a party that is quite possibly the most powerful party ever assembled in rpg history.

wow the original zelda images look like garbage....perhaps their first attempt at windwaker? the amount of 64 games that were moved to gamecube....

I think the graphics were fantastic, SNES or not. How old they are might matter more had 2D not died just a few years later. Personally, I can only imagine the graphics of those two games being considered better from an artistic and/or subjective viewpoint, as from a technical viewpoint, they certainly aren't better, PSIV's cutscenes exempted.

for me it might of had more to do with the actual attack animations. i guess after playing shining force 2 they looked too cheesy for me and far too pixelated. clearly the snes was capable of better. out of curiosity was ff6 the last FF game to have a female lead before ff12? perhaps if i had tried ff6 right when it came out instead of after playing crono trigger and seiken densetsu 3 i would of felt differently.

i remember trying this game back in the day and thinking to myself. wow shining force 2 has better graphics than this. one could argue ps4 does as well. graphics aside the intro was pretty impressive for its time. i think i stopped playing after i got out of the cave where the moogles help you because the graphics were to crappy to keep me interested. i mean didnt this game come out after crono trigger yet they stuck with those pixelated mess of sprites

I made a new character a few chapters into the game. Of course he's useless as is, so I'm trying to level him up. What is the best way to go about that? Should I have him soloing low levels or something?

This strategy becomes a lot more effective later on in the game once you open up a power leveling map, but it'll work for where you're at now, as well.
I'm not sure if it's the best way to go about things, but it's the way I did it. Go somewhere where your strongest character can one-hit the monsters in the area, and perform team attacks with the weaker party member (just have them standing next to eachother). It'll split the experience 50/50, but chances are that killing higher level monsters as opposed to soloing weaker ones will be more beneficial.

tower attacks will work as well.

about valkyrie profile 2. chapter 3 was a massive borefest but it ended on a good note and chapter 4 is made of fucking win. events from both games are starting to intersect. Hrist/Ahly is easily the prettiest of the 3 valkyries and im starting to understand her true motivation.
2682  The Rest / General Discussions / The Great Console War 3 on: January 04, 2007, 12:27:56 AM
i just want to clarify something about GTA. its not the game itself or its violence that i dislike(although i think it sells WAY better than it deserves too) it was when every game starting trying to copy its open ended gameplay that i started to get mad. heck you could even make the case that ffx-2 fell victim to this curse as well. i like my games to have structure. i get bored fast without it.

also dios what you just posted further illustrates nintindos unwillingness to take financial risks. thier whole online is a fad BS with gamecube was their way of saying. we dont want online because we dont think we could make money off it. regardless of what i've been saying i will get a wii eventually just for smash bros brawl and the new fire emblem, wich along with starfox and metroid are the only nintendo franchises i give a rats ass about.

Fuck me, Valkyrie Profile 2 is hard as hell.  Every time I hit a new area, I get repeatedly trounced.  I've never seen anything like it.

I just cleared this place filled with lightning from above and poisoned water below.  I struggled through that place for 45 minutes (it's like ten screens big :P), then stepped foot in the next area and got fucking murdered.

I think it's time I went back to WoW. :P

yeah i found that too. it seems like a lot of dungeons lately the sealstones are stacked against you,but by the time you get to the boss you can make sealstone setups that make the boss a cakewalk. in that place i put a stone in a dias that make enemies attack with earth element. plus i left the lightning blessing in it's dias so all the enemies attacked for half damage and you get a lot of earth protection gear there. btw chapter 3 is way to fucking long! :o

im currently playing valkyrie profile silmeria 2 and disgaea 2. it seems like everytime i get someone cool,i get someone even cooler a few dungeons later. like i just replaced Celes with Circe. and in disgaea 2 ive spent more time in the item world than in story mode because im obsessed with unlocking all the character classes. so far the mage knight seems uber.

oh and about VP:S alicia makes me want to pull my hair out except when silmeria is taking over. i hated that voice in star ocean 3 and i still hate it now.

i agree with eusis even though devil may cry 3 is closer to an rpg than zelda i would have nothing against it being under action rpg. in a way its like you level up everytime you beat a boss and get another heart. but for just console rpg no way. next people will be saying metroid prime is an rpg. =o

edit: VP:S as action rpg? lol
